Chapter 34 Something Must Be Done!

The next day,  Adrien does not speak to Marinette.  Marinette does not speak to Adrien.  Uncle  Fredrick notices.  He thinks, Hmm, I must get them to speak to each if it is the last thing I do!  He makes a plan  and smiles.

      "Hey Uncle!"  Adrien says.

"Hey nephew, it is rainy day out, but I need you to tend to the pigs. One  pig is about to give birth.  I would take care of it myself, but I need to go into town for some supplies."  Uncle Fredrick says.

"Fine, I will take care of it right away."  Adrien says.  He goes outside, with a rain coat on and heads to the barn.

A few minutes later,  Uncle Fredrick sees Marinette on her own.  He smiles when he sees her.

"My dear, go along and tend to the animals in the barn!  It is market day you know!"  Uncle Fredirck says.

Marinette heads to the barn next.  She has no idea, that Adrien is already inside.  If she had known, she might not have gone there.  She is not ready to trust him with her heart yet, or so she thinks.

Uncle Fredrick smiles. He heads outside with his rain coat on too, and goes to the barn.  He closes it from the outside and even adds a special lock to it.   He smiles to himself, as he hands back to the cottage.  He only hopes, after all this trouble that Adrien and Marinette  are happier!

Uncle  Fredrick's  POV:  I know I was not completely honest with either of them.  I just can not stand to see them like this. It is obvious they love each other!  They just need a little help to see it.  So, I see this a shove in the right direction.   Hopefully, they will thank me later.

Meanwhile, Adrien works with the mother pig.  He does not even notice that Marinette is there too.  He just keeps right on with the task.

Marinette sees him and blushes. She is not to happy that he is here.  Ugh, why is  he here?   She feeds the chickens , puts a few eggs into the basket and begins  to comb the horses manes.  As she works she hums a bit.  She already has forgotten about the fact she is not alone.

Adrien looks at the mother pig in dismay.  He thinks, stubborn animal!  He decides he will have to go get Marinette to help him. He exits the stall, but finds the barn door will not budge.  That is odd, I thought for sure I left undone from the outside when I came in here earlier.  He shrugs his shoulders, goes back to the stall, and says,  "Now come on Mendy!  I know you can do this!"  As he speaks to she grunts, lays down and squeals.  He smiles.  He looks at the huge sal  as she gives birth to one piglet, then another, and another.  Finally, she finishes, and she has a total of six little piglets.  What a relief!

Marinette soon finishes with the horses. She milks the cow next.  She makes sure to be gentle as she does this, so as not to spook the creature. She continues to hum as she works.  She looks up when she hears a sound behind her.  It is him, Adrien!

"Oh,it is you!"   Marinette says.  She falls over  backwards off  the stool and lands in a pile of hay.    She stands up and looks right at him.

"Mari, are you okay?"  Adrien ask, as he gently reaches out to help her up.

Marinette lets him help her up, and he smirks at her.

   "What?"  Marinette says.

"It is just you look adorable with hay in her hair."  Adrien says.

   "Oh, yeah!"  Marinette says.

    "Yes!"  Adrien says.

Adrien picks up some hay and throws it at her.  Marinette dodges it and it hits the wall to the barn instead.  The next wad of hay he throws in her direction hits her though and knocks the wind out of her.   Marinette begins to fall over again, but this time there is a pitch fork behind her.

"Marinette, watch out!" Adrien calls out to her, as he sees the tool.  He also runs to her, and catches her in his arms.

"A-Adrien, you caught me!"  Marinette says with surprise in her voice!  Her eyes show her excitement about the whole thing.

"Yes, anything for you, m'lady!"  Adrien says. He gently carries her over to a different section of the barn.  He sets her down.  He looks at her in concern.

"Cinnamon roll, why did you help me?"  Marinette mutters.

"Look, I told you, I love you!" Adrien says.  He knocks a piece of hay out of her hair.  He smiles, and cups her face in his hands.  He wants to kiss her, but does not.

"Adrien, you do love me!  I do not why I never saw it before, oh, cinnamon roll!"  Marinette says.

Marinette stares at him and thinks, I know I said no more kisses.  Only now, I want you to kiss me.

Adrien sees the look in her eyes.  He is  not sure what it means.  He is to caught up in the moment to care.  He slowly closes the gap between them as he places his lips over hers. He sighs when she does not push him away, or protest this time.  He thinks, what?

Marinette smiles as Adrien kisses her. She wraps her arms slowly around his neck. She does not want to let go ever again!  She is afraid if she does this will be just a dream.  She hears him sigh, and can hear herself do the same. She returns his kiss. She does not notice when someone knocks on the barn door.

Uncle Fredrick decides it is time to check on the love birds.  He goes to the barn, and knocks on it.  He gets no answer.  He hopes does not mean they got in another fight and hurt each other.  He unlocks it and steps inside.  His jaw drops when he sees them in a lover's  kiss.  He feels quite silly now.  He smiles when he gets over the initial shock.  He is just happy his silly plan worked better than he thought it would.  He makes a quick exit out of the barn, and closes it back to give them privacy.  He does leave it unlatched this time.

Marinette and Adrien do not even notice his Uncle enter the barn.  They do not notice when he exits it either.  They are to busy with the kiss.

"Mari,"  Adrien whispers as she lets go of his lips.

     "Adrien!"  Marinette mutters.
