Chapter 30 Something's Got to Give!

Adrien sighs.  He just wishes there were some way for him to receive love in return for love.   He has been in  Ireland for almost a month now.  He is still down in the dumps.  He is more sad now than he was when Marinette first broke up with him.  He never thought it possible.  He sighs again.

"Adrien,  why do you just sit around and sulk all the time?"  Uncle Fredrick says.

" Well, what else do you expect me to do?"  Adrien says.

"I know you are heart broken, but staying in bed all day and pouting is unhealthy for you.  In fact, it is quite immature of you as well."  Uncle Fredrick remarks.

"Fine, I will get up then!"  Adrien says.  He jumps out of bed, shaves, puts on some clothes, combs his hair, eats and brushes his teeth. He continues to mope though as he heads outside into the fresh Dublin air.  He comes across an old fashioned bench where he sits down for  a  bit.

"Hey, is this seat taken?"   the girl ask

"No, and that is just the way it should be."  Adrien says sternly.

"Well, then see if I ever come near you then again, Agreste!"   the young cousin of his replies

Adrien  looks up to see his cousin, Pat walk away.  He can tell she is upset.  He feels bad for how cruel he was to the girl.  It is not her fault he is a bad mood.  It  is no one's  fault.   No one expect for Marinette!  Ugh, why can he not get her out of his head.   It has been three weeks since he left California and she is still all he has on his mind.

He feels like his world is all out of wack.  He is so sad.  He is so upset and feels confused about everything.

Uncle Fredrick shakes his head as he sees Pat, stomp off in defeat.  He is sure whatever makes her upset has to do with his nephew, Adrien.  He walks over to him to have a little conversation with him.

"Adrien, what is the meaning of all this?   Pat is your cousin, and yet you treat her like trash!  How could you do this to the poor girl?"  Uncle Fredrick says.

"How could you take her side?  She practically caused trouble for me the moment she came over here and invaded my space."  Adrien says.

"Nephew, that is not polite, nor is it the Agreste way to treat some one in such a fashion.  You need to learn how to respect others no matter how bad your own emotional scars may be."  Uncle Fredrick replies.

Adrien does not say another word.  He knows his uncle is right.  To lash out at anyone else because he is angry with the woman who hurt him is simply childish, immature, and alright rude.  He should no better than this by now.  This is not the way he was taught.  He was taught good manners by his dearly departed mother, who he often missed at times like these.  He just sits there silent as can be as his uncle speaks to him.

"Something's  Got to Give! " Uncle Fredrick says.  After Uncle Fredrick says this, he walks a small distance away from where still sits on the bench.

Back in Sunny California,  Marinette wakes up.  She gets ready for the day.  She takes today off work.  She goes for a jog.  She thinks about Adrien as she does.  It seems these days this is all she thinks about everyday, and night.  She can not seem to get him out of her mind.  She sighs.  She realizes she still loves him.  She thinks, does he still love me?   She blushes at the very thought.  She heads back home when she finishes her exercise.

She  sits down on her sofa and recalls how Adrien came along that one time when she needed him the most.  No one else was around, and even if they had been, but the looks of it, the creep who had her in his grasp could just as easily been a lover.

Marinette remembers how she could feel the ugly man's  lips touch hers.  How she felt awful about it all.  How she wishes she could forget it all.  Only, the memory of it still haunts her dreams.  Then, she recalls how the nasty man had the nerve to tie her limbs behind her so that she had no way of escape, how she closed her eyes to avoid seeing what was to come next.

How she thought for sure he was going to hurt her beyond repair and kill her for fun afterwards.  She does not remember much after this under than the fact she blackened out for awhile.  When she came too, she was on a towel away from the ocean, and Adrien was beside her with this look of worry in his eyes.  She knows he gave her hug and she was so grateful she hugged him back.

Marinette thinks, Oh, Adrien!   Why did I let you go?  I should have kept the necklace.  I shouldn't have run away from you.  I should have let you love me, and let myself love you.  Now you have been away for ages and I do not know what I am to do.  What shall I do as I wait to see if you return?

Marinette's  POV:  Adrien, cinnamon roll, I miss you!  You and your silly laughter as it reaches my ears, your kind smile, your sad attempts to impress me, your hugs, your kisses, and the way it feels to have you hold me in your arms.  I never did ask you about the day of the rescue, why you had the look of worry on your face when I woke up from my unconscious state of mind?   Did you know then that you loved me?  Is that it?  Is this way, I can wipe the memory from my mind?  Is it because in some small way that is the day I fell in love with you?  Is it because I am at a loss of words when it comes to how I feel about you?

      Now back to Adrien...

Adrien  knows his uncle his right.  What is he to do now?  How is he to find the kind hearted person he once was?   Does that side of him even exist anymore?   If it does then, why is so hard to reach it?     Why does he feel as if it is hard to breath?

Adrien's  POV:  My life is over.  At least the life as I once knew it is over.  I am not sure if I can over go back to the way I once was.  The thought scares me!  How am I to be the nice person, I once was whenever I  feel as it  I were stuck in some crazy alternate universe, where everything is out of sink?    Something's  Got to Give, but the question is to what that something is to be exact?
