Chapter 7 Marigold's Return
...In the other castle, where Prince Robert, his parents, sister, and servants live...
Prince Robert's POV:
"Andrew?"
"Your highness, what is it you need?" Alice asks.
"Have you seen Andrew?"
"Your highness, he is on his way here," Alice assures him.
Robert smiles. he is glad to hear it.
Andrew's POV:
He left Katharine alone so she can shower and change clothes. He does think she is rather lovely.
He goes to speak to Robert.
He soon finds him in the throne room.
"Robert, do not tell Katharine. I like her. I do not want her to be afraid of me and leave."
"Andrew, do not fret. I shall not tell her." Robert thinks perhaps she knows already.
Katharine's POV:
She finishes in the shower, dries off, and gets dressed.
She slips out the back door. Her injured arm is still in a bandage.
She misses the footsteps behind her.
At King James Palace, Marigold arrives unannounced.
Marigold's POV:
She thinks, very well, I suppose I will have to question them myself.
She finds Aurore in the side yard. She smiles.
"Aurore, did the king ever speak about me?"
At the shrug of her sister's shoulders, she looks away. She is even angrier now.
"Well, tell him that Marigold wishes to see him."
Aurore's POV:
"Marigold, I never heard of her."
"Aurore, do not make me laugh. I am Marigold."
Aurore wonders how this girl with bright red hair, freckles, and slightly deformed chin know her identity? She does not recall introducing herself.
"Father, someone here named Marigold has come to see you."
Marigold's POV:
"Yes, and tell him I wish to speak to him at once."
She yells at the top of her lungs.
Aurore's POV:
"Father, Marigold is here, and she demands to see you at once."
"Marigold, oh my goodness," King James' eyes widen. He looks upset.
"What is the matter?"
"Nothing, just send her to me at once."
"Yes, sir."
"Marigold, father wishes to speak to you at once."
Marigold's POV:
"Thank you."
As Marigold approaches King James, she scowls.
" Just one thing, why did you give me up?"
" What was so bad about me you hated me? "
Aurore's POV:
"Father, what is she going on about now?"
"We have never seen her before, and I am sure she is mistaken. Right?"
Aurore took the lack of an answer as a bad sigh.
"Father?"
"Aurore, I am sorry, but she tells the truth. She was given up as a baby for adoption."
Aurore sat down in dismay. She felt as she was lied to once again and did not like it one bit. Goodness, the whole thing was sad. No, worse, it was horrible. To think, she was robbed of her chance at a sister. She always did think a sibling would be nice.
