Chapter 47- The bad and not so bad news
"I regret to inform you that Marinette Dupain Cheng entered a state of coma. We tried our best to keep her alive and succeeded but were not able to keep her from going into a coma. Her body was completely dehydrated. She had no vitamins whatsoever, looked as she was starving, causing her defenses to be extremely low and her pulse was horribly slow and somehow her blood flow was abnormal as if she had been dead for days.
To be honest is a miracle that she is alive. I am not sure how but her body seems to be recuperating as the hours go by. It's simply miraculous but we need to keep an eye on her as we don't know if her vitals will once again fail. As for now we have no knowledge of how long she will remain in a coma I am truly sorry" the doctor said it with a sad tone. Mr. and Mrs. Dupain Cheng hugged each other tightly as tears continued to fall.
Emily had called them as soon as Adrien and Marinette we under examination. They had hopes that their daughter was fine, they hadn't seen her in weeks and when they finally get news is all bad. Emily gave them both a hug and promised them that she would do anything in her power to get her anything she would need to wake up. The doctor spoke again "The story is a bit different for the teen Adrien Agreste.
Although he was also extremely weak with the right medications and quick help we were able to stabilize him and help him regain the nutrients needed. All he needs is food and rest. We will keep him a few days to give him what he needs and he will be able to go home." Emily gave a sigh of relief and thanked the doctor. He then stated he will let them know when the teen was awake so they could visit him.
None of the heroes wanted to leave the hospital. They needed to make sure that their guardian will be safe. The all took turns visiting the room she was kept and each left something to show their support. Their Kwamis told them each they could sense she will be ok with at least gave them a breath of relieve. Days passed and Marinette showed no signs of waking up. As the weight got longer and longer the heroes one by one took their leave. Their cities needed them, Emily promised them she would contact each one of them and let them know how things were once they got news from the doctors. As for the temporary heroes they all handed their miraculouses back to Alya which made sure they were place back into the box and hid it for safety as instructed by Tikki and Plagg.
A few days passed and Adrien finally woke up. His body was on full health and was told if everything remained well he would be released in a few hours. The doctors then called Emily up so she could finally see her son. As she walked into the room she stopped at the door and smiled at her son. "Mother!" Adrien said excited. He has spent so much time asleep he was honestly starting to believe the past events were all a dream.
"Son I'm glad that you are ok we were so worried about you." Emily ran to hug Adrien. Adrien smiled but his smile was not real. He gave his mother the picture perfect smile his father had made him perfect with the thousands of photoshoots. Yes he missed his mother and always wished for her return but ever since he woke up there was only one person on his mind. Marinette Dupain Cheng. For some reason a wave a sadness submerged his heart. He knew there was no way we would be happy until he saw her beautiful bluebell eyes.
"Mother how long have I been asleep?" Adrien asked as he looked into his mother's eyes and saw dark circles around them as she hadn't slept for days. "A few days" Emily replied. Adrien now filled with concerned if he had been asleep for a few days then where is Mari? how come she wasn't there to see him. Adrien cleared his dry throat and blinked a few times trying to hold back tears somehow he was not sure he would get the answer he hoped but anxiety built and he began to speak. "How is Marinette? Where is Mari Mom? Please tell me she is ok I can't live without her. I love her." He held on to her tightly. Emily in the other hand was filled with guilt. If only Marinette hadn't sacrificed herself for her they would not be here and her son would be happy. She wanted to tell him not to worry, she wanted to say that she was ok and that soon they would be together, but it would all be a lie.
