Chapter 3 No Longer Alone

Previously, in Chapter 2, "Hi, I see you could use my help," She hears a voice say.

"Who said that anyway? Show, yourself!" Marinette says. She thinks, great someone saw me, but how?

"It is okay, I am a friend," The other girl says.

"Well, now friend, then why should you help me?" Marinette asks.

Now, in the current chapter, "Here, take this gift from me, go on now,"  The mysterious girl says.

Marinette looks at the other person in surprise.  "A present, but no one has ever given me a gift since my parents went missing years ago," She says.

"Then, you need it more than you thought now go on open it,"  The young lady says.

Marinette opens the box and sees some cute earrings inside. She thinks, wow they are lovely. She puts them on and smiles.  She feels something is off.   She asks for a mirror and the stranger hands it to her.  She looks into it and gasps.

"Where are my wings?"  Marinette asks.

"Do not worry, they are still there only now they are hidden," She says.

"Hidden, but I do not understand," Marinette responds.

"The gift is the miraculous and it helps us fairies remain incognito you see," The blonde girl replies.

"Well, this explains why my clothes look different now too,"  Marinette replies.

"I am Chloe, by the way,"  The lady tells her.

"Chloe, thanks, but how do I know how it works?"  Marinette asks.

"Oh, that is easy enough to explain as long as you wear it you can be seen by anyone, but the moment you remove it you must go back to being alone,"  Chloe remarks.

"You mean the wings only stay this way while the earrings are in place?"  Marinette asks.

"Yes, you catch on fast.  This is exactly what I mean, so be careful,"  Chloe responds.

"Just one more question, Chole, how will I know when I meet the fairy of my dreams?"  Marinette asks.

"Marinette, when the time comes you will just know,"  Chloe states. She leaves as quickly as she came.

Marinette looks around her in surprise. She sees she stands outside some nice house. She wonders who lives here?  It looks rather fancy.  She smiles at the Christmas decorations outside the place and thinks, someone has good taste.

"Hello, Miss, what brings you here?"  A voice calls out to her.

"Whoa, s-sorry, I meant no harm, honest, I will leave if you wish for me too," Marinette says.

"It is alright, you can stay if you want too,"  He says.

"Oh, I would not want to intrude," She says.

"Nonsense it would not be intruding, besides, my brothers not due back from the store for a while anyway,"  He remarks.

    "I am Marinette," She says.

"Wow, what a lovely name, oh and I am Adrien," He remarks.

"Well, then, glad to meet you, Adrien," Marinette says.

"Same here, glad to meet you too," Adrien says.

Adrien and Marinette enjoy talking to each other in the garden area while Luka is away at the store.  The two have so much fun they do not notice when Luka returns.  It seems as if nothing could keep them distracted from the nice day.

"Adrien, could you help me with the bags?  A few are a bit heavy here," Luka says.

Luka sees Adrien is not in the house, odd, he thought Adrien never went outside and looks up to see him in the garden.  He goes out there to speak to him and sees a lovely angel with him.

"Bro, is this the reason you stay home so much?"  Luka asks to tease him.

"I only just met her today," Adrien says.

"He is right he found me here in the garden, but I do not recall how I got here," Marinette says rather embarrassed.

"Wow, brother, either she is a good liar or she is just plain odd like yourself," Luka remarks. He goes back inside the house and shakes his head.

Luka carries in the rest of the groceries glad that at long last his adopted brother is no longer alone.  He sure hopes the mysterious lady keeps him out of trouble.  He laughs as he finishes putting away the groceries.

  Luka's  POV:
He can see his brother is already taken in by the lady.  He thinks, well, good for him.

Adrien's  POV:
How did this girl get here?  He could have sworn he was alone all day, yet he looks up and sees some girl in the garden, so he steps outside.  He must have startled her because she offers to leave, but he recalls he gave her an invitation to keep him company.

He was glad she did not protest.

Marinette's  POV:
This being a fairy in disguise as a human is new to me.

She thinks, too bad Adrien is a regular human. She does not notice his ring.

Adrien's  POV:
He wonders What is it that goes on in that pretty little head of hers?

Chloe's  POV:
She stands a long distance away and smiles.

She thinks, well Marinette made friends with him fast.

Good for her, she could use a friend, and Adrien well he could use one too.
