Chapter 12 Closet Snickering

      Adrien's POV:

Adrien hears a noise in his closet and runs to it with a baseball bat in his hands. He charges at the closet door and stops when he hears snickering inside. He thinks strange what is that all about anyway?

"Marinette is that you?" Adrien asks.

"Y-yes, it is is me," Marinette answers.

Adrien opens the door with a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness, for a while there I thought a burglar, or a squirrel had gotten into my room." He drops the bat so he can hug her.

                Marinette's POV:

"Adrien, sorry I scared you. It is just that the area under the bed was a tight fit," Marinette says.

Marinette is glad that Adrien is not angry with her as he greets her with a hug.  She is rather happy to have him back.  It was rather lonely while he was out of the room.

Marinette remarks, "I suppose, I will have to find a better place to stay then your closet."

She sees him think about it like he wishes to solve the problem.

                Adrien's  POV:

Adrien hears Marinette say something about her need for a place to stay.  Now that she mentions it he realizes he has not thought of anything.  He is just happy to see her.

"Marinette, I am not sure, to be honest," Adrien tells her.

Adrien sees Marinette frown as if it dawns on her she is in danger.  He reaches up and places a hand on her cheek.

"Do not worry, I will make sure you are safe, Mari," Adrien remarks. He sees her sob so he kisses her cheek.

Adrien holds her close until she falls asleep.  He picks her up, moves the dresser, pushes a button and the wall opens up.   He carries her over to the bed and gently sets her on it.  He tucks the covers in around her.   Before he exits the secret room, he kisses her again, then closes the door to ensure her safety.  He places the dresser in front of the door.

Now, he can only hope she will not wake up and freak out when she discovers she is alone in some strange place.  He wishes he did not have to keep her presence a secret. He hates secrets since they are far too many of them.

                  Narrator's POV:
Luka falls asleep with the television set on while Adrien struggles to sleep.

Adrien worries about Marinette while she remains asleep inside the secret room hidden behind a special passageway behind Adrien's dresser.

Marinette does not awaken for the rest of the evening because she is rather tired. She has the most pleasant dreams ever.
