Kate has thrown a party at her own house (damn. Also lets just say shes rich so she has a huge house ), and has invited about the whole town. And then something happens.
So yes, I know its called Laurens in the bathroom but I chanced it a bit so that it wouldnt get weird.
Anyways on to the story.

Kates pov
"Hi!!" I greeted everyone when they entered. John and Alex went together, since they were now officially a couple. I see my best friend Faith talking to Lafayette. Im probably the only one thats alone. I decide to see how they are doing.

"Hi guys!" I say, in the middle of a conversation. They've gotten quite used to me doing that though.

"Hi Kate!" They say. At the same time. They are just such an amazing couple...

"Are you enjoying the party?"

"Yes!" They say, in chorus. Again

"Nice! Faith, do you have any tips on not being the only person thats lonely?"

"Maybe talk to Jefferson?" She said

"...we will see"
I walk away, noticing that John has disappeared. Alex was chatting with Burr. I decided to try and find out where John went. Hes one of my best friends.

"Alex!!!" I yelled, again, ruining a conversation. Burr left the room, but he just doesnt like loud things.

"Yes, Kate?"

"Wheres John?"

"He went to the bathroom."

"Okay"

Hours passed, and John didnt come out. I knew he wasnt in the bathroom, since then people would have told me. He knew where my room is, and has spare keys. He might be there.
I went there, and heard him crying.
I knocked on the door.

"STAY OUT!" He yelled at me. This wasnt the person I knew. I was scared for what might happen if I didnt come in, but at the other side, I couldnt just come in, right? I couldnt think straight anymore.

Johns pov
I hear a drunk girl who I assume to be Maria singing. It only makes me even sadder since Alex and I usually make fun of her together.
I know its stupid. I know I should let her come in. Shes always so sweet and caring. But I cant let her see me like this.
I heard her banging on the door, asking to come in.
I slowly walk to the door.
Just when want to I open it, she stops knocking.

"Kate? Come in..." I say, opening the door anyways. She was still waiting.

"Are you alright?" She asked

"Im fine, its just that-" I start crying. She hugs me.

"Its alright, John. Just tell me. I can help you."

"Alex left me alone... he- he left me alone to go chat with Burr..."

"Im sure he didnt do it on purpose!" She hugged me tighter. Its weird, becouse she has never done this to anyone exept Jefferson.....

"I just.. what did I do wrong?"

"Nothing. You know how I told you Alex is like a child sometimes?"

I nodded

"This is one of those times. Children just sometimes seem pretty rude."
"Thanks"

I finally hugged her back. It was nothing wierd though. We were just friends.

"Wanna go back downstairs?" She asked me, with the sweetest voice possible

"Okay" I said, letting her go
We went back downstairs, and I inmediatly went back to Alex and hugged him. He smiled at me.

"Where did you come from? Its been hours and you didnt even text me!" He said, clearly worried

"I locked myself in Kate's room...." I said, feeling kinda guilty for not telling Alex.

"Its fine," he said, and hugged me back.

"I still love you." He told me.

Kates pov
When we were downstairs I decided to go talk to Jefferson.
"Hi Thomas!" I said

"Hi Kate. Where have you been?"

I was thinking about using his stupid reply, (Uhhh, France?) But I decided to be honest.

"Upstairs, trying to get the couple back together."

"Okay?"

"Anyways... I was.. kinda... thinking about.. " I hugged him. He accepted it and hugged me back.

"I love you."

"I love you too"
