Chapter Twenty Five
"What are you doing here Dalhyun?" I ask, with a hard voice as I come to stop a few steps from him. He opens his eyes in surprise as he glances at me with a sad face.
"Why did you do it Dawn? Was I reason?" He asks, his voice breaking slowly as my eyebrows furrow in confusion, not able to understand what is he exactly talking about.
"Dalhyun, I have no idea what you're talking about," I say I bring my hand forward, towards him. He stares at it for a minute then grabs it and stands up, but without letting go he pulls me closer, our noses almost touching.
"Why Dawn?" he asks again, "Why would you think that it's better to just end..." he trails off as I stare at that one lone tear sliding down his cheek. When he had broken down, on his knees begging me not go my heart was breaking but now... I don't feel anything.
And this just keeps making me more confused. I have loved this man since I was sixteen but now...
Then it clicks me.
How did he come to know it? Who told him?
Atharva...
He was the only one who knew about the incident. Why would he disclose such a sensitive information to him? A complete stranger to him.
"Dawn," he calls for me, his voice urgent. As my attention returns to him, he pleads, "I need you to talk to me. I'm trying really hard to be patient, but I can't anymore. I just can't."
I bite my lower lip, considering his words carefully. "First, come inside," I say with a subtle smirk, sidestepping him and unlocking my front door. "If patience is a virtue, let's see if you've earned it."
Shiloh's enthusiastic greeting warms the atmosphere, his tail wagging in excitement as he bounds towards me. But then, as if catching a scent on the wind, he abruptly stops, sniffing the air with curiosity before turning his attention towards Kim Dalhyun. I stand there in silence, observing both Shiloh and Kim, animals have a way of cutting through the noise and getting straight to the heart of a situation.
I maintain my composure, watching intently as Kim Dalhyun meets Shiloh's gaze with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. It's a telling moment, one that adds another layer to the already charged atmosphere between us.
"So this is Shiloh." he states, he fucking states as I exhale annoyed. That stupid brother of mine, I am going to kill him.
I stared at the way he bent down and scratched Shiloh's ear, sadly. He was still crying, and I wanted to pull him to a hug but I remained rooted to my place. I wanted to say that I was sorry for hearing about the death of Kyung.
I would've never guessed the way he died the way he did.
I knew, how much he meant to Moon, Kyung was his everything.
"Why are you here, Dalhyun?" I asked, as he glanced at me. His grey eyes hold a depth that seems to defy their colour. Though grey in hue, they are far from dull, possessing an intensity that draws you in. In the dim light of the room, they appear almost silvery, like flecks of polished steel reflecting hidden emotions.
His gaze is penetrating yet enigmatic, hinting at layers of complexity beneath the surface. There's a certain magnetism to his eyes, a quiet strength that commands attention and leaves an impression long after the initial glance. They speak volumes without uttering a word, revealing glimpses of his inner thoughts and emotions with each subtle shift in expression.
"I told you, I want answers. I can't wait anymore." he says as I sigh, I didn't know what to say. "I don't need earn your patience Dawn. As far as I know it, you owe it to me."
I take a step back, looking at him dumbfounded. I open my mouth and close it, exhale harshly through my nose. "first of all, you won't get anything with that behaviour." I warn him, "and next, this is a personal matter, as far as I am concerned were still broken up."
His tongue darts out as he licks his lips, and makes a sudden movement of pushing me against the wall. I gasp at the impact. "Broken up?" he scoffs, "broken up? What we had... it didn't have a name."
"You need to stop backing me up against walls." I moan in pain.
"I will do it everytime if it means that you will talk." I glance at his face, the warm lights creating a shadow on his face, his grey eyes coming a storm inside them. "Now fucking answer me, why did you do?"
I remain silent, suddenly the night it happened starts appearing in front of me, the pain, staring blankly the hospital ceilings, Tanishka's cries for help.
His rage skyrockets as he punches the wall, his fist just seconds away from my face. I gasp, "What is wrong with you!" I scream as I take his hand in my mine, inspecting the upcoming bruise. He tries to pull his hand back as I throw a glare on his way. "Don't even think about it."
He sighs, as he glances down at his hand in mine, I follow his suit as I gently run my fingers over his knuckles.
"I can't tell you the reason Dalhyun." I whisper, "I am sorry, I am so sorry." I keep my eyes focus of his knuckles, knowing that if I look at his face, I will break down.
He takes his hand back as I feel his palm on my cheeks, making me look up at him. "I thought these two years would help you get better, but ever since I have arrived... you don't even seem okay to me. But what I never thought my Dawn would something like this."
I take a deep breath, my dawn.
Just like he mentioned before, we didn't place a name for our relationship so I was never his to begin with.
"What we had was forbidden, what I did to my parents, you and myself was wrong and I can never go back from it, I could not see us two years back, now or two more years later." I say, "It would be hell lot easier for us to return back to our lives if you leave India as soon as possible."
He remains silent, as I try my level best to not cry. Now this was the part it hurt, the thought of him going away from me.
"I'm not going anywhere," he declared, his voice resolute. "I won't leave until you tell me what happened. I'll stay right here in Mumbai and wait until you share everything with me." His words carried a finality that made me sigh, a mixture of disbelief and relief washing over me.
He moved towards the main door, and I couldn't take my eyes off him. My breath caught in my throat, wondering what his next move would be. Suddenly, he stopped and turned to look at me. Before I could fully comprehend, he was standing right in front of me, breathing heavily.
And then, his lips were on mine.
One hand encircled my waist while the other cradled the back of my neck, pulling me into a passionate kiss. It took me a moment to register what was happening, but then my hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer as I kissed him back with a fervour that surprised even me. His kiss was intense, filled with a passion that seemed to echo my own. Time seemed to stand still as we stood there, locked in each other's embrace.
Finally, we pulled apart, both of us breathing heavily. His eyes searched mine, filled with a mixture of uncertainty and longing. I could see the questions in his gaze, the unspoken words hanging between us.
"You need to go." I whispered as I looked down, my tiles more interesting at this moment.
But he didn't let me go, which is exactly what I want. He instead ran his hands all over me, as if he was memorising every part of me but what he no longer could touch was my heart, it is to numb to feel the help given to it.
"Dalhyun--" I start to remind him when I hear my intercom ringing, my eyebrow furrow as I step away from him and tap twice on the closest wall near me.
Soon the electric noise rattles though as I cringe, "This is an orange alert for Shiya Saathvik. Location breached, currently identifying the threat."
"shit!" I cuss, as I rush towards my room and take out my MacBook. Sitting on the bed, I login in my home security details and soon I can see a bunch of paparazzi standing outside the main gate out my society, with their fancy cameras.
"Dalhyun!" I call out but when I glance up from my screen he is already standing by the edge of the bed, looking at my laptop screen with wide eyes. I can see the panic starting to raise on his face. "You have two options."
"Options? Seriously?" he looks horrified, as he runs his fingers through his hair. "I don't need options, I need a solution! Even you know what can happen to you if they spot me coming out of your house."
"yes I know, that's why I have two solutions." I say as I stand up, "number one, I can arrange you getting out of here within an hour, but there is no guarantee that they won't question or follow a black tinted car."
Option number one is full of flaws, because having a tinted car enter the society is going to be the biggest doubt and even though I could have the car enter and exit from the parking lot directly, they would easily cover that base because it is damn sure that someone tipped them off.
"Not going to work." he says shaking his head.
"Option number two, stay the night here and that gives me a plenty of time to come up with a solid plan."
He remains silent for a moment then nods. And then the reality settles in between us, he is staying the night here, at my house.
"I will show you the guest bedroom." I bite my lips as I watch him open his mouth then close it. I walk out of the room, as I take a left and take him to the room at the furthest corner, which just happens to be two doors next to mine. I could just hope that he doesn't decide to venture out and ends up in my painting room.
"And this is your room for the night. The bathroom is equipped with everything necessary but if you need something else then let me know." I say and immediately walk away, knowing that if I even glance at him for a second, I might end up asking him to join me on my bed to sleep.
Which certainly won't be happening.
But well, we all know what happens when you've one of the most handsome, pussy throbbing man sleeping two doors next to yours.
MILLION LITTLE THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR:
The strength I am gonna muster to not end up on the bed with him.
