🌹 The Foolish Attack 🗸
THE way the wind blew her hair to gently caress her face was an annoying, but not unwelcome feeling. It was soft, giving her a small sense of comfort before the all out war.
If you would call it a war.
"Can you feel it?" Gabbriel asked in a low voice. The question was almost blown away from the wind, but Gajeel was easily able to hear it. Mentally, he thanks their advance hearing before replying.
"Feel what?"
"The tension. . .Today really is the day, isn't it?"
"The plan should be going into action today."
". . .So it's a fight."
"It'll be a fight."
The twins were on their way to the guild hall, getting their game faces on. Although the fact that a battle was going to break out soon enough, they weren't scared. Going up against the so-called Strongest Guild made everything better.
It was just the anxiety of not knowing when Fairy tail was going to attack. But, they at least knew it was happening today.
Of course, the upper members of the guild knew what was going on. They were on stand-by. It was easy to tell who was let in on the little secret by the way they kept their eyes on the door as the Iron Twins walked in.
Gabbriel fixed her hair for the millionth time as they walked to their regular seat. Her hair was down in its usual messy curls, but her bangs were tied back. Gabbriel wanted to fight as many people as she could while she could, and having her bangs down will cause a distraction.
Her fingers tapped the wooden table beneath her in a random pattern, her mind drifting off to who to fight.
Natsu, for sure. Gabbey wanted to make it clear that there was only room for two - technically one - dragons in the sky. Her twin and her.
Gray would easily be another choice. They both use Maker magic. But the ice mage does this weird two handed position that she remembered someone calling weak. She wasn't weak. She proved it by using only one hand to summon her iron.
Finally, Erza. She was known to everyone as The Queen of Fairies. Gabbriel herself wanted to take that crown off of her head and show her what a real queen looks like.
Scrap metal was almost instantly placed in front of the twins and the two started powering up for the battle. Gabbey shoved a huge handful of metals into her mouth and chewed as quietly as one could when eating metal. Gajeel was practically shoveling the metals down his throat.
"Who are you going to fight?" She questioned after a few minutes of quiet eating. She flipped the gear into the air before catching it in her mouth.
"Probably the Salamander. We're both Dragon Slayers. You can join in if you'd like." He offered. She wrinkled her nose as pieces of chewed metal escaped and flew onto the table.
"Either I'll help you, or I'll fight the ice-maker mage - Gray. That, or I'll go after Titania."
"If Laxus is there, are you going to fight him?"
"I didn't see him at the guild hall, and if everything we've heard about him is true, he won't show up. Mystogen, Gildarts, and that one-white hair girl won't be there. Her name is Mirajane, I think. . .Anyways, she gave up her powers."
Gajeel snorted. "Wow. You got a lot of information."
"I do my research," She retorted, flipping the part of her hair that wasn't up. She reached for the last piece of metal before pausing. The sound of a huge group marching towards the guild filled her ears, and quiet whispering confirmed her suspicion.
She pulled slightly at their bond, tilting her head towards the door. Gajeel tilted his head as well, shoving the bond just a bit to tell her he already heard it.
"They're coming. . ." He drawled out, pushing his chair back to stand.
"And they're not doing a good job of being quiet, either," Gabbriel copied his actions. "It's like they forgot Phantom Lord as two Dragon Slayers."
"C'mon, lets get on the wooden pillars." Gajeel ordered.
"Why would we do that?" Gabbey scoffed. "Are we going to hide from Fairy tail?"
"No, no," Gajeel tutted, leaping high into the air to grab at the wooden pillars above them. "We're just going to have a grand entrance."
"My specialty," Gabbey joked, following after her twin.
Her red eyes settled on the only known entrance to the guild hall, starting to trace the outline of her guild mark. It was nestled on her inner wrist, as black as the long sleeved shirt she wore.
An idiotic group of her guild members were making their way towards the double doors, gloating on how they were going to nab some fairies for themselves. High-fives were given and cheers were thrown as the group passed by friends or co-workers.
Gabbriel had to cover her mouth to contain the threat of laughter that would have escaped her as the doors were suddenly busted down. The small group that was bragging was thrown backwards, smashing tables and chairs.
They definitely got off lightly.
The whole guild hall - which was loud and obnoxious only a few seconds ago - was now silent in shock.
When the dust had settled, Fairy tail was standing there. Their faces were either stone-cold or filled with anger - but they all shared one thing in common. The seriousness of their face was shared with each and everyone of them.
A salmon haired boy caught Gabbey's attention, easily the first person she spotted. She nudged her twin with her elbow.
"There's your lover~" She teased singingly. Gajeel glared at her in return.
"What the hell are you yapping on about?" He snapped. "He's the enemy!"
"I can see that," Gabbey snickered.
"We are Fairy tail!"
Most of her guildmates started freaking out - especially when Natsu threw the first punch. Flames erupted from his fists and feet, the bright light so sudden, it threw people off even more.
"Anyone will do! Bring it on!" He growled like a dragon would.
That seemed to shock the guild out of its stupor. They matched the energy Fairy tail was given off, throwing in snide comments while they did so.
"Don't get carried away, punk!"
"Take 'em down!"
"That's all?" The ice-mage that Gabbey was talking about earlier, Gray, asked coldly. With a simple two-handed move, he froze a handful of Phantom Lord members that were charging him.
Gabbey's stern face slowly grew into a grin. Not an impressed grin, or a happy one, just a toothy grin. Her eyes were gleaming with anticipation.
"You're going after Natsu, right?" Gajeel grunted at Gabbey's question, telling her yes. "I think I'll take on the ice mage."
"Wait for it," Gajeel commanded suddenly, grasping onto Gabbey's shoulder when she stood up. She pouted, pushing on irritation onto their bond as she watched the fight.
Stupidly, in her honest opinion, the mages in her guild charged towards Master Makarov. As if he wasn't a Wizard Saint. The Fairy tail guildmaster's eyes began to glow an eerie gold, that quickly filled the air. When the light died out, a giant version of himself appeared, smashing her guildmates under his palm.
"Ooh," Gabbey mocked with a hiss. "That must hurt."
"M-Monster!!" She heard one of the men yelp out from under his hand. The oak wood floor shattered under the pressure the old man was putting.
"You bastard brought the fight to the children of that monster. Don't even for a second think human laws will protect you now." Makarov growled.
"S-Such strength!"
"They're insane!"
"Jose!! Show yourself!!" The old man had returned to his regular, tiny size, shouting at the top of his lungs.
"Where?!" The only red head that sliced people down with her sword, Erza, demanded. "Where are Gajeel, Gabbriel, and the other members of Element Four?!"
"That's Erza, the Titana," Gajeel finally spoke to himself. Gabbriel suddenly let out a victorious giggle.
"Gildarts, Laxus, and Mystogen aren't joining the forces. Just like I predicted!"
"Or, they're underestimating us." Gajeel growled in reply, angry at the thought, before a sly grin like her sisters' took over his face. "But. . .I have to admit, I didn't expect Jose's plan to work so well."
"Can I go yet?" Gabbey whined, crouching down again. "This is getting boring. There's a fight down there that I want to join!"
"Erza!" Makarov interrupted Gajeel's answer, making them look towards one of the Ten Wizard Saints. He was lumbering his way up the same set of stairs that led to Jose. "I'm putting you in charge! Jose is probably on the top floor. I'm gonna tear him a new one."
As the old man disappeared up the stairs, Gajeel finally took his hand off of Gabbriel's shoulder. "Don't go killing anyone." He teased.
"No promises," She cackled, her gleaming eyes clashing with her brothers before she leapt down from the beams. The excited look in her eyes didn't seem to dissipate as she threw a hand out in front of her and casted; "Iron Make: Thorns!"
Thousands of tiny spikes shot out from the green magic circle that appeared in front of her hand and hit the people underneath her; guildmates and all. Her ears twitched slightly as her guildmates cheered around her, even if she was aiming for most of them.
"Alright! Gabbriel's here!"
"Nothing can beat her!"
"Especially when the twins are together!"
The ground beneath the said girl cracked as she landed on her feet, flipping her hair over her shoulder with the other hand on her hip. She had to put on her persona now, the one that everyone believed her to be.
"Which fairy wants to get their ass beat?" Her voice was immature, a little bit more high pitched than what her voice usually was.
It was known to everyone in the guild that Gabbriel rarely took any fight around here seriously. Because they knew that she knew, that Gabbey would come out victorious.
"Who wants to get their ass beat?" She asked. Her presence seemed to make her guildmates fight back more. Not only because she was a powerhouse, but because she was speaking in an immature tone.
When Gabbriel didn't take someone seriously, she always spoke like a ditz. In such a condescending and mocking way, that it makes you think twice.
A certain raven-haired boy met her challenge head on, a fist in the palm of his hand. "Ice Make: Lance!"
Gabbey let out a childish laugh, clearly enjoying herself as she dodged the ice shards with ease. To make him even more upset, she jumped on them if they got too close.
"You must be the maker mage of Fairy tail!" She cooed with a grin. There was a good distance between them, but the two could hear everything each other said.
"You must be the Rose of Phantom Lord," He retorted, his face contorted into anger.
"Right you are!" Gabbey started circling the taller man, going around the somewhat small circle of fights that surrounded them. It was like a lion stalking its prey. "Are we going to have a Maker Match? See who could survive the longest?"
"I won't kill." Gray answered instantly, straightening himself up. Gabbey's red eyes shimmered, taking the statement as a challenge.
"I won't kill," She mocked, tilting her head as a green light flashed behind her back. When he nodded, albeit hesitant, she pulled the object she made out in front of her. "Even if I was the one who tortured your friends?"
The cursed object in her hands made Gray tense up, his eyes trained on the thing. His head dropped, his hair creating a shadow over his eyes. But he was just a second too late, she saw the look of loathing in his eyes.
Good.
Her smile turned sharp. The fighting around the two of them seemed to disappear, but she knew better. Her brother was watching closely. Nudging her, cheering for her.
Gabbriel guessed she should give him a hell of a show.
"Oh! You should have been there," She started to circle him again, her voice dripping like honey. "Those two bimbos didn't wake up the whole time we were beating them! And we beat the shit out of them. Do you know how easy it was to knock one fairy out - much less three - about five blocks away from your guild!? They probably still haven't woken up!"
Gray's right fist clenched tight at her last comment as she passed. A snicker escaped her lips.
"By your reaction, I'm guessing they're still out of it. I don't blame them, we did do a number on them. . ." She sighed and stood in front of Gray again, the rose crown still in hand.
"And that girl. . .Levy, was it? She was a beauty! I'm glad I went a bit easy on the face. . ." Her voice came out as a purr, seeing the icy aura that was now surrounding him.
It wasn't enough, she needed to keep pushing. Who knew when she could fight another guild and get away with it? Especially since this was their arch-rival.
"She actually woke up, you know? You should have heard her screams! How she begged that we leave her and her nakama alone!" She spat the word out like poison. Her fingers danced along the leaves, thorns and vines that the crown held.
"Too bad we had to beat her within an inch of her life. Though, I think we did them a favor. It's no wonder they joined this so-called 'Strongest Guild'." Her voice lowered dangerously. "This guild is weak, too weak to even phantom the thought of being strong. Just. Like. Them."
And for the added bonus, she threw the rose crown at Gray, the headgear landing just at his feet.
Gray's eyes met Gabbriel's own before he launched himself forwards. A happy laugh escaped her lips as Gray made various attempts to punch her. She dodged easily, though. What Gabbey lacked in strength, she made up with speed.
"Don't you dare speak like that about Levy, Jet, and Droy!" He snarled, putting his hand in his fists. "Ice Make: Arrows!"
"Metal Make: Shield!" Gabbey flicked her hand in an upward motion, destroying the ice with the shield before running around it, hands at her side. "Metal Make: Double Swords!"
"Ice Make: Sword!" Gray blocked Gabbriel's overhead arc with his own sword, his stance shifting as the pressure of two swords. The two swords she made were barely considered a katana, with a rose at the hilt of the sword.
The stand-off wasn't even a full second before she dropped her swords and started her attempts to paring. The taller male did his best to keep up with the two-sword attack, blocking with his one sword or simply dodging.
"You guys are going to lose," Gabbriel taunted, surging forward with both swords and swinging them around.
"Fairy tail never loses!" Gray quipped back, his sword just a hair short of slicing Gabbey's hand off. The girl let out a laugh of disbelief, blocking another attack. Her head tilted at a thought - and before she thought it through - she dropped both of her swords.
They disappeared when they hit the floor without a sound - Gray noticed as he watched. What he didn't notice was a fist the connected to his jaw.
The force was enough to make him stumble back, and almost fall, but he caught himself. Shaking his head to get it back into the game, he saw another fist being thrown, and blocked it with his forearm.
"A two-handed maker mage," She sneered. "How pathetic. Makes you weak." She punctuated the word with a kick to his stomach. Gray glared, actually catching her foot last second.
"One handed maker mages make unstable creations," Gray retorted, pulling her by the leg. Thinking quickly, Gabbey dropped and sent her left leg towards his head. He dropped her right leg and pushed himself backwards, her boot just barely grazing his bangs.
"Tired already?" Gabbey cooed, noticing Gray was panting. "Oh, come on, Gray! We were just getting started!"
Gabbriel started forward, her knuckles coating over with metal as she sent a jab towards his face. Gray dodged, sending his own punch back. But Gabbey swept under the punch before dropping and kicking his feet out from under him.
Gray landed on his back in surprise, shocked at the speed Gabbey showed, before a foot on his chest brought him back.
"Any last words?" Gabbey asked, holding her arm up and aimed for his face. The sun was shining behind her through the broken window, sending shadows to cover her face. . .But her eyes.
It felt like Gray was staring into the eyes of the Devil herself.
Instead of the outcome the two of them thought was coming as Gabbey brought her metal-covered fist down - a sword barely missed Gabbey's face if she didn't slide out of the way.
There, in all her glory, stood the Queen of Fairies: Erza.
Her glare was scaling, but Gabbey was sure to make sure no fear was shown.
"Ah! Titania!" The Phantom woman cheered, watching Erza stand protectively in front of Gray. The ice mage was still trying to catch his breath. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you wanted your ass beat as well."
The red head narrowed her eyes as she tightened her grip on her sword. "So, you and your brother were the ones who did that to Levy, Jet, and Droy."
"Don't forget your guildhall," Gabbey teased. Erza didn't look amused. "Well, if it changes anything, of course! Your cold tone is such a be-"
Gabbriel was almost knocked back at the surge of reeling surprise that filtered through their bond. Her gaze went over to the now-crushed bar, the Salamander standing a few feet away. Her eyes grew hard, seeing Gajeel get up to fight back, only to end up getting a good kick in the face.
Her red gaze went back to Erza and Gray - who was now standing beside Erza. She sent them a sarcastic smile. "As much as I'd like to beat you two shits - I have to go help my twin. Excuse me."
The two fairies exchanged a look, not willing to let the woman go, but her guildmates started to swarm them.
Gabbey ran to where her brother was getting his ass beat - which she would never repeat. He had just landed on the bottom part of the roof pillar, mumbling to himself about the pink-haired boy being a punk, when the said boy appeared before his face.
Before Natsu could do any more damage to Gajeel, Gabbriel leaped up and appeared besides Natsu.
"Be aware of your surroundings, idiot!" She sneered, sending a powerful kick towards his head and pulling on the bond in warning.
Unfortunately, for him anyway, Natsu turned to face the new opponent and the blow landed on his temple. Natsu was sent crashing to the ground and Gajeel quickly caught his sister.
"You really just had to join in?" He muttered lowly, swinging Gabbey a bit before aiming for the pillar he was underneath.
"Hey! The only person that can beat your ass in a fight, is me!" Gabbey whispered back harshly, glaring at Natsu who returned it full force.
She was just a little bit surprised he was well up and walking. A hit to the temple could put the strongest of mages out cold.
"Is that all you got, Salamander?" The twins mocked at the same time, red eyes gleaming cockily from their position.
"Don't worry," Natsu was fast to retort. "That was just a friendly hello. From one dragon to another."
Gabbriel's giggles caused the Fire Dragon Slayer to focus on her. "Oh, Salamander," She started with a toothy grin. "Didn't you know? There's only room for the twin dragons."
The whole building shook on its foundation, as if an earthquake decided now was the right time to happen. The smug looks on the fairies faces made it obvious who it was, though. Gabbriel looked up, eyebrows furrowed.
"Is that. . .Makarov?"
"Wouldn't surprise me. . ."
"This is Master Makarov's fury. A giant's fury. . .No one can stop." Erza explained with a small smile. This made Gabbriel huff. Leaning down, she poked her brother's boot.
"Nii, can I take on the Salamander?" Her eyes returned to Natsu, who was still glaring at them as he climbed the pillars towards them. "He's glaring at us like he killed his cat."
Gajeel rolled his eyes. "Just wait until he gets up here. You gave him a pretty hard kick. See how slow he's climbing?"
Clearly, Natsu heard them talking, because he picked up the pace.
"It didn't even kick him out!" She hissed, pointing towards the other Dragon Slayer. "A hit to the temple could've killed him if it was hard enough!"
"What did I say about killin'!"
"I said no promises!"
If it wasn't a part of the outline of the plan Master Jose ran over the higher members of the guild, she would have jumped in the air as a small body crashed through the roof.
The small body - that everyone recognized as Makarov - fell from the roof into the middle of the room, and through the wooden floor.
There was a haunting silence that filled the hall before Fairy tail reacted in surprise.
"Huh?!"
"M-Master?"
The old man wheezed and clutched the ground with wide eyes. "M-My magic power." He managed to get out.
"Ji-chan!" Natsu called out in a panic, turning his back towards the twins. If the battle wasn't already over, they could have attacked. Instead, the two sighed in unison. But the victorious smirk crawled onto their faces.
"Tch, the fun's over already?" Gajeel grunted, crossing his arms.
"I was just getting started too!" Gabbey groaned, sitting down on the pillar and crossing her legs. "This sucks."
"Master, hang in there!" Erza cried out.
"Wh-What's going on?! I can't sense any magic power coming from the Master!"
"W-Wait, does that mean he's nothing but a plain geezer now?" A member of Phantom Lord murmured out loud.
"What are you idiots waiting for?!" Gabbey hollered at the top of her lungs, face palming at all of them. "Their force is cut in half now! Get them!!"
That seemed to knock sense back into them.
"We'll totally win now!"
"Hurry!"
Gabbriel watched as Natsu hopped down the pillars and ran to this master. Hoping to help. Just as he got close enough, Erza stood up and pointed back to where the entrance once was.
"Retreat! Back to the guild!"
Roars of disapproval rose from the members of Fairy tail while the Phantoms still attacked with no remorse. Gabbriel, herself, let out an annoyed noise.
"My, my," Gajeel chuckled his little gee-hee laugh. "Going home already?"
"Retreating is for the weak!" His twin crowed, meeting Gray's heated glare. She winked, blowing a kiss for good measure.
They won this battle, that means they'll for-sure win the guild war.
". . .Sorrowful." The depressive voice of Aria sounded to Gabbey's right. The edge of his cape swished into her field of vision, which she instantly batted away like a cat.
"Aria," Gabbey and Gajeel greeted in unison. "You're as creepy as always."
"Should I be surprised you took down that geezer?" Gabbey added, picking at a nail from the pillar they were all on.
"All a part of Master Jose's plan," The taller man said solemnly. There was a pause before he burst into tears. "Wonderful!"
Gabbey let out a groan of annoyance, scooting away from Aria.
"Don't cry over everything!" Gajeel scowled, flipping himself to the top side of the pillar like it was nothing. The spikes that kept him from falling down disappeared.
"I don't need your tears on me every time we meet." Gabbey wiped her dress aggressively.
"So. . ." They drawled before Gabbey continued. "Did we capture that Lucy girl?"
"Couldn't have been that hard," Gajeel crossed his arms.
"We confined her at our 'headquarters'," Aria replied, having now calmed down to a single tear.
"Gajeel!! Gabbriel!" Natsu's roar caused the twins to look down, seeing him practically melt them where they stand.
Someone seems to have been listening in.
"Let's settle this some other time, Salamander," The twins declared, a cackle leaving their lips. Gabbey drew her hand up quickly and threw something towards the blue cat that was flying besides Natsu's head. The fire mage caught it just before it could hit Happy in the head. He turned to say something, but stopped.
They were already gone.
The object was somewhat cold in his warm hand as he finally brought his gaze to what he thought was a knife. His fists erupted into flames, melting not a knife, but a metal rose that had nearly hit his partner.
