Haavoc Reigns in the Bad End Bad Dan AU

Mature themes are brought up in this AU, proceed with caution.

AU Bio:

A TLMtCE AU where Haavik's control is stronger than Dan's willpower because of the threat of his friends' safety, and Drago is corrupted instead of that scene in Dan's mind. 6 years later, the world has been taken over by Haavik as his goal now shifts to making Planet Earth the best circus in the world. The ABs have formed a resistance against Haavik, but with their friend at the helm as Haavik's supreme commander, can they stop him? It is also an AU mixed in with Digimon Ghost Game characters in the Bakugan setting. This AU can be used by anyone really. Feel free to use it for a story.

Pairings:

Dan Kouzo x Lia Venegas x Wynton Styles, past Dan Kouzo x Hiro Amanokawa, Ruri Tsukiyono x Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai

World Description:

The world has been divided into 5-6 kingdoms, with Haavik reigning as the complete ruler, and Dan as the supreme commander of his army. Oceania and Australia are under Storm, America is under Everett Ray, Africa is under Sophie, Ebony controls Europe, and McQ is the leader of Asia. The main kingdom is in Asia, although speculation from the Brawlers is that the main base is actually in Antarctica, while the main military base is in Las Volmos, America.

Prologue:

"Dan!"

"Dan!"

"DAN!"

"Wake up Kouzo!"

He could hear their voices, see his actions, notice the little things here and there.

But... He knew that he couldn't do this. He couldn't... If he did....

"Let's see, I'm going to take out Dragonoid, and then all the people you care for!~ Do you want that?"

Haavik... had too much power.... He couldn't... endanger them.

He could hear Haavik's words echo in his head over and over again. Grotesque details of how he was going to slowly rip them apart, and make them suffer until their last breath, played like a broken record in his mind. No no no...

"I'm... sorry guys...." He whispered.

No more fight had been in him since Haavik threatened his loved ones before attacking Dusk Industries.

And so, he would shoulder the burden of his mistakes as he watched Magnus nearly win, only for the others to rush to his "rescue" and defeat Magnus with a combined blast. He would watch as Dusk Industries fall, and he would just give in. He would just watch as the world burned and the world collapsed, creating a new world, the perfect circus for Haavik.

If becoming Haavik's supreme commander would protect them, so be it. He would play his part, be Haavik's puppet... if it kept them safe.

6 years later, he wondered if his choices were right, if he had made the right decision, as he silently sat beside Haavik, listening to the reports from the others about the Final Stand Resistance.

Guys... please stay safe... he thought to himself. At least you're safe from his clutches...

Chapter One: Final Stand Resistance

"I still can't believe it... Why... would Dan do all this?" Shun mumbled as the team sat in their shared room. Even after 6 years... None of them could believe he would be willing in all this.

Lia closed her eyes gently, "I... don't know either, Shun. It's one of the biggest mysteries since all of this sh*t went down."

"Gotta agree there," Wynton nodded.

Lightning whimpered while Ajit patted his head, asking, "How was the attempt to hack into the military base? Did you get any clue on why Haavik's been leaving us alone?"

"Magnus, Riot, and Jenny have been trying, but no dice," Shun said. "Crystal's even saying that she couldn't sense anything from Dan. He had cleared his mind because we used that trick on Strata and Tripp."

"Urgh... this makes no f*cking sense," Ajit groaned. "We're sitting here like lost ducks. For 6 years, we've lost so much. Almost everyone but the resistance is either dead or working with Haavik. Our group is definitely going to be annihilated."

"We need a lead, something to help us in this fight," Troxx agreed. "Otherwise..."

They all shared a worried glance. Crystal had said that Dan's darkness could envelop him any time, but knowing that he was willing in all this was even worse.

"What happened Dan...?" Lia whispered. "We need answers..."

"I can provide them," a new voice suddenly said, and everyone's heads swiveled over to see a new person they didn't know at all.

They were all on edge as they got up, Bakuballs at the ready. How had this person gotten in?

"Who are you?" Wynton asked, steel in his tone.

The person simply said, "You don't need to know. All I have in reply is this."

They gasped at what they had taken out; a thick book, with Dan's slightly scrawly handwriting, 'How the World Fell to Its End, Chronicled by Dan Kouzo'.

"How did you get this?" Ajit asked, distrust in his eyes as he looked at the hooded figure. This felt too good to be true.

"I snuck in obviously," they snarked back. "Anyway, you can choose not to read it, but it's the legit thing. I wouldn't..."

Here they faltered slightly, before saying, "I wouldn't lie about Dan Kouzo."

"Why?" Lia curiously asked.

"It's... personal, between me and him," they said. "We go way back, honestly."

"Wait..." Something in his tone... resonated with Shun. He could sense a brief Japanese accent in his tone. "Who are you? Are you Japanese?"

".... I suppose you can say that," the person simply took off their hood, and Lia and Wynton gasped.

"Hiro!?" Wynton yelped.

"But I thought you moved to Sapporo!" Lia asked. "How are you here?"

The chocolate-haired male shrugged off the cloak and sighed, his lime-green eyes the most exhausted the two had ever seen him, "I was on a vacation with my dad and Bakugan partner here when the army struck in Tokyo. Needless to say, I was shocked by Dan's change in personality. I didn't, no, couldn't believe that Dan would change this radically, so my friends and I started looking into it. We've never actually exposed ourselves to the public, to be honest, so we work in the shadows."

"Oh..." Lia nodded in understanding.

"Wait, wait, wait, how do you know this guy?" Ajit asked the two.

Lia and Wynton shared a glance before Wynton sighed, "Ajit, Shun, Lightning, this is Amanokawa Hiro. He's a friend of ours who moved away before the Bakugan woke up because his fame-seeking mom divorced with his dad."

"Hey," Hiro waved slightly as he dug his fingers into his red hoodie. "Nice to meet you I guess."

"Wait, so how did you get this?" Shun asked.

"I... sorta hijacked a plane to get to Las Volmos?" He sheepishly admitted. "Dan's room wasn't locked so it was easy to get into."

".... I'm sorry you what!?" Ajit gaped.

"Yeah, Hiro's an expert at lockpicking," Wynton chuckled. "It was funny when we first figured that little tidbit out, honestly. Dan was so impressed he complimented Hiro for days. Never realised the huge crush Hiro had on him, though."

".... Wynton?"

"Yeah?"

"Shut up."

"Yessir."

"Oof," Shun laughed slightly. "I don't think I've ever seen anyone shut Wynton up like that."

"That's because you don't know him too well," Hiro simply answered. "Anyway enough of this nonsense. I have to get back to my friends. We're going to try getting Dan back, with or without you."

He then put the hood back up and was about to leave when Lia called out, "Wait!"

He stopped, and turned to them, blinking as Lia smiled, "Good to have you around, Hiro."

His eyes widened, but soon a smile formed, "Same here, Lia."

The group then watched him leave before turning their attention to the book he had brought.

Time to figure out the truth behind all this-

BANG!

"HIRO!"
