When Ava left the dorm, her mind was telling her that Remus' parents were right she wasn't good enough for him, she is a half breed and didn't deserve their son, but her heart was telling he that they wouldn't care as long as Remus was happy.

When Ava arrived at her house, she was surprised to see her mother sitting at the table. When her mother turned around, she could see her daughters desaturate face.

Athena swam over to her daughter and hugged her "what happened darling?" she asked, leading her over to the table to talk.

"His parents don't like half breeds mum, what do I do, I want to be with him, but what about his parents?" Ava asked, as her mum grabbed both her hands.

"Well, I don't like you being with a human, but all I care about is if you're happy, so if his parents aren't like this and he has to choose you or them, and he chooses them, then he isn't good enough for you," Athena said, to her daughter.

Ava hugged her mother before finally coming to a decision "thank you, mum, I might be back tonight depends what happens" Ava said before swimming off to the surface of the Black Lake.

When Remus saw Ava jump into the Black Lake, he ran down to where the pyjamas lay and just sat there looking at the crescent moon and the stars.

Remus was sitting beside the lake for half an hour before Ava emerged from the black lake a second time that day, she swam over to Remus and opened her mouth to speak, but Remus stopped her and started to explain.

"Ava, please listen, I don't care what my parents think about you, all that matters is my opinion, and I love you, and I never want to let you go," Remus said, then Ava leaned up and kissed his cheek.

Ava then got a cheeky smile "how about you come in here?" she said and didn't even give him time to respond before she pulled him into the lake.

When Remus resurfaced Ava pushed him against the edge of the lake and kissed him, it was romantic, but little did Remus and Ava know that behind a few bushes were The Mauraders and Lily were watch and all of them were glad they both made up.

Remus and Ava spent the rest of the night swimming in the lake before Remus helped Ava back to the dorm so they could sleep, and that night was the best night sleep both Ava and Remus ever had.

When Ava woke up that morning, she was confused it wasn't until Remus' hand wrapped around her waist when she realised she was in his dorm room, unfortunately for Remus, it was a school day, and Ava wouldn't get to see him until after dinner. She looked at Remus' peacefully face before kissing him until he woke up.

"Goodmorning love" Remus mumbled, lucky for Ava his face was in his pillow or else he would have seen her blush when he called her 'love'.

"Goodmorning" Ava said as she got up and started putting on some clothes. When she finished getting ready, she turned around, and Remus was fast asleep.

Ava ripped the blankets off Remus, but he still didn't budge, so she climbed on top of him and just sat there, it took Remus a couple of minutes and an erection later until he finally noticed what was happing.

"Ava," Remus said with a sigh. "I'm going for a cold shower to get this down," He said while pointing to his erection.

"I'm sorry I didn't think that was going to happen, I was just trying to wake you because you have school today," Ava said before hugging Remus, then a kiss on the cheek and left.

Remus kissed Ava' cheek and was just about to walk into the bathroom when he turned around again and said: "It's fine to love, I love you and will see you later by the lake at our usual spot".

Ava smiled and left the Gryffindor Common Room and made her way down to the lake and hid her clothes in a tree trunk, she jumped into the lake and made her way back home.

Ava had lunch with her mum and spent the rest of the day with her mother, swimming around the lake. She was excited to see Remus and have dinner under the stars with him.

Ava had a couple of boyfriends, but Remus was by far he was the best, he cares about her even though she's different, and he doesn't care that she's a mermaid.

It was two days until Hogwarts students return home for Christmas and Remus and Ava have agreed that she would sneak aboard the Hogwarts express and go to Remus' house for the holidays.

Remus and Ava weren't as excited as they thought they would for one reason and one reason only, would they like Ava?

Remus didn't care if his parents liked her or not, she was here to stay, yes Remus adored his mother and dad, but Ava made him happier than both of them together could.

Sure Remus' dad rescued him from a werewolf at the age of four and stopped it before it could turn his son, and he was forever grateful, his mother had the biggest heart and was extraordinarily kind-hearted, but he wasn't sure how she would react about this.

The day before they left for the holidays, Lily offered to take Ava to buy Christmas presents and some clothes for her to take to Remus'.

Ava found shopping for the Mauraders (except Remus) and Lily easy but when she got to Remus she was stumped. Ava was going to get him a book until she came across a cute shop hidden at the back of an alleyway. She walked through the front door and could smell the sea, it was one of those Mermaid believers shops her mother told her about, and that's when she realised she wanted to get Remus' present from here.

She was wandering for a while when she found a book all about mermaids,  mermaid traditions and myths about them.

Ava walked to the counter where an old lady was sitting reading a magazine that looked to be about mermaids "I see you have good taste," the lady said as Ava handed over the money.

"Are you a believer?" the lady asked curiously while handing Ava the book.

"You could say that," Ava said, but little did that lady know she was talking to a real mermaid, "have a nice day," Ava said as she left the shop.

Ava walked to the Three Broomsticks where she was to meet Lily, then they both walked back up to Hogwarts.
