Kelly the Kelpie

These are the words I wrote on Facebook about this bundle of energy and devilment - but which inspired what?

Who knows? All I can say is that they both issued from the conglomeration that is called my brain... and in case you were wondering, some researchers have made an estimate of the average human brain having 86 billion neurons. Phew... that's a lot - no wonder it's difficult to get it all together some days (well-ll, many days actually).

Meanwhile, back at FB, here's what I wrote -

I'm often wishing I could 'wake up like a Kelpie'... and then just now I see our Kelly Larsen out on the hard driveway, rolling joyously from side to side to scratch the length and breadth of her back. She passionately wriggles from side to side, expressing small yelps of ecstasy at being let off her chain once again (A new but necessary bondage to keep her from crossing our highway with most vehicles, including semi-trailers, doing in excess of the 110km limit ). SO happy to see it's working... we can let her free for longer and longer periods, as long as we are out there with her - a much easier job as we get some truly Springtime weather in between the miserable cold of this Winter).

Kelpies are amongst the highest octane speedsters of the canine world, and before I could even sit down at my computer to type this, she's off - to chase sparrows from one side to the other of our house, with its large clump of trees on two sides and a long and thick hedge along our driveway. Birdie paradise, if it wasn't for that darn dog... but guess they ALL get wondrous exercise.

How's this photo for 'eager'? She makes my heart sing, and fly, and remember...

And here is how her saga began and developed - recorded in a picture story I created soon after we rescued our rogue. [Link in Comments below]
