5-Luna vs Blackstar
In the pic is basically how Luna looks in wolf form (her eyes are still purple though).
****************************
The next morning, I got up and ate breakfast with the boys before getting ready and leaving for the academy. As we walked, Drake just had to open his big mouth.
"I wonder how our new friends are doing today."
I huffed in annoyance. "They may be your friends, but they aren't mine."
"Come on, Lulu. You're being too rude to them. You should be grateful that they've been so nice to you."
"Just give them time. If they knew what I was, they wouldn't like me anymore."
Drew then entered the conversation.
"But what if you're wrong, Luna? What if these people are different?"
"Then...I don't know."
It grew quiet as we arrived at the DWMA. Standing in front of the building was Blackstar and Tsubaki.
"Hey, Luna! I challenge you to a battle!"
I stopped and blinked a few times. "What?"
"I know you're a skilled meister, so I wanna battle you!"
"No."
I walked around him and entered the building. I heard his footsteps as he and Tsubaki ran after me.
"Come on! I know you must be afraid of losing to a big star like me, but I wanna battle!"
I heard Tsubaki say, "Leave her alone, Blackstar."
"Come on, Luna! Why won't you battle me?!"
"Because I don't feel like it."
I continued until I made it to class, being greeted by the others. I sat next to Kid again, since the twins didn't give me a choice.
Kid gave me a warm smile. "Hi, Luna."
"Hey."
Since Professor Stein had yet to get here, Blackstar once again came over to me.
"Are you afraid of losing? Is that why you won't fight me?"
I groaned. "Please, I could beat you any day. Now go away."
Kid looked confused and asked, "What's going on?"
Drake leaned around me and said, "Blackstar wants to battle Luna but she keeps turning him down."
"Oh, I see. Blackstar, are you really doing this stuff again? If she doesn't want to battle then leave her alone already."
I was surprised. Kid was sticking up for me? I was relieved when Stein came into the room, forcing Blackstar to take his seat across the room.
"Everyone take a seat. For class today, we will be discussing kishin and witches."
Thank Death, a real lesson today. I listened to Stein as he wrote stuff on the chalk board and talked about our mortal enemies.
I took a few notes on paper as I noticed Kid and Drew doing the same. Drake simply leaned back in his chair. Typical, he never was big on working.
After a short while, the twins passed a note to me. As I opened it, I noticed Kid and the twins glancing over to see what it said.
Fight me!
I looked across the room to see Blackstar grinning and giving me a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes and crumpled up the paper.
After class, I quickly made my way to the lunchroom with the twins. Getting our food and sitting down, we were soon surrounded by our 'friends'.
With Kid sitting in front of me, he told me, "I'm sorry about Blackstar. He can be really obnoxious at times."
"It's alright."
As soon as I finished eating, Blackstar suddenly pushed past Kid and leaned over the table in front of me.
"Hey, Luna! Wanna battle now?"
I slammed my fist on the table and yelled, "For the last time, NO!"
I growled at him but stopped upon seeing everyone's eyes on me. I held my head as I felt my anger starting to rise.
I heard the twins both question. "Luna?"
Holding my head, I quickly stood up and left, mumbling, "Be right back."
I rushed out of the lunchroom and to the bathroom. I splashed water on my face as I stood in front of a mirror.
Keep calm, Luna. You can't let him get to you. Must. Stay. Calm. There's only one way to settle this.
Once I left the bathroom, lunch was over and everyone was returning to class. I went back to the Crescent Moon Classroom and calmly walked in.
Standing in the doorway, I looked straight at Blackstar. "Blackstar, I accept your challenge."
He grinned and jumped up yelling, "WAHOO!!!"
Stein looked at us both. "Ah, so Blackstar wants a battle, huh? This gives me a good chance to see how you and your weapons fight, Luna."
Everyone headed outside to the front of the school. I saw Stein and the other students watching from the sidelines.
With Blackstar and Tsubaki standing across from me, I stood with the twins on my sides.
Drew asked me, "Are you sure about this, Luna?"
I nodded. "I'm sure. Anything to put this cocky bastard in his place."
I held my hands up as they transformed, slipping over my hands. Holding my claws up in a battle stance, I watched as Tsubaki transformed into a chain scythe and landed in Blackstar's hands.
"My goal is to surpass God, and to do that, I have to beat you first!"
I smirked. "You've sure got a big mouth. Less talk, more action."
Maka's pov
Standing next to Stein, who sat in his chair, I watched as the battle started. Luna's main weapon seemed to be her claws. She was quick to block, dodge, and swipe at Blackstar.
"Professor Stein, what are Luna's weapons exactly?"
"Drake and Drew's weapon forms are magic gauntlets."
"Oh, kind of like Kilik's weapons, Pot of Fire and Pot of Thunder."
"Not exactly, Maka. While Kilik's twin weapons can use fire and thunder, Luna's are capable of much more."
"Oh, I see. So using her gauntlets, she can use a variety of magic, kind of like a witch. But I've never heard of weapons like that before."
"Not many have. Magic weapons are extremely rare and extremely hard to use. And yet, Luna can use them with ease. That's why Lord Death wanted to enroll these students."
"Wow, I had no idea."
Stein gave me a serious look and asked, "Have you tried looking at Luna's soul?"
I nodded. "Kid and me both have. Have you seen it too, Professor? The strong fear that emanates from her soul?"
"I have. Though I'm not sure what she's afraid of. Like right now, during a battle, her soul is calm and composed. Yet in my class and every other time I've seen her, the only thing coming from her soul is fear."
I smiled. "That's why all of us are trying so hard to get to know her. Maybe in time, she'll open up to us."
My gaze went over to where Kid stood as I said, "Kid has been the most determined of all of us. He's practically taken it upon himself to see that she will accept us as her friends."
"Intersesting."
I glanced back at Stein before returning my gaze to the battle underway.
Luna's pov
Throughout our battle, me and Blackstar have both managed to land a few hits on the other. I could tell Blackstar was getting annoyed.
"This fight's gone on long enough! Tsubaki, smoke bomb!"
"Okay!"
Tsubaki changed from and Blackstar threw her on the ground. The area was enveloped in smoke, I couldn't see a thing.
"Hmph, I don't need my eyes to fight you."
I closed my eyes and listened. I could hear his movements. I waited for an opportunity and continued listening.
I could faintly hear something flying through the air. My eyes snapped open and I moved to the side just in time to see one end of the chain scythe fly past me.
I quickly grabbed the chain, stopping the weapon in midair. I smirked.
"Is this the best you've got?"
"Nope!"
I looked in the direction of the voice to see the other end of the chain scythe coming toward me. My eyes grew wide as I tried to dodge to the side.
I didn't move quick enough and the blade scraped right above my right eye.
I dropped to the ground, now holding a hand over my blood coated eye. I noticed the smoke beginning to disperse and I could once again see our audience.
I slowly removed my hand, seeing the blood dripping from my face and hand. I heard Blackstar's annoying laugh as I stared in shock.
His laugh seemed to echo in my head as I felt my anger rise. I slowly stood, growling as I glared at him.
I quietly muttered, "Drake, Drew."
They replied in unison, "On it."
I felt their power flowing over my hands and arms. I touched the ground before slowly bringing my hands up.
As I raised my hands, pieces of the ground around me floated up alongside me. I could see the shock on Blackstar's face.
I suddenly threw my hands forward, and at my command, the rocks flew toward Blackstar. I pummeled him with rocks and boulders until he could barely stand.
I then dropped the rocks and rushed forward, pouncing on him and pinning him down. A low growl erupted from my throat as I had my claws ready to tear his face apart as he stared up at me in fear.
"Blackstar!"
Tsubaki's worried voice echoed from her weapon form.
"Luna, stop!"
I ignored the twin's desperate cries.
"Enough! Battle's over!"
I snapped out of my angry state and looked over at Stein who now stood with a serious expression. I looked back at the shocked Blackstar under me and quickly stood, walking over him.
Tsubaki and the twins both changed back to human form. Maka approached me with worry on her face.
"Luna, you okay?"
My anger still present, I replied, "I'm fine."
Blackstar had gotten up and came over. "Hey, what's your problem?!"
Kid then rushed over and asked, "What happened? Luna?"
My anger was only rising at all the questions being thrown at me. I'm scared, I feel like I might change at any moment.
"Everyone just SHUT UP!"
I quickly turned away from everyone, holding my head. I heard footsteps and Kid's voice.
"Luna, please tell us what's going on."
"Everybody just leave me alone!"
I ran for home, leaving everyone, even my weapons, behind. Tears ran down my face as I slammed the front door of the house shut.
I can't hold it back anymore, my emotions are too out of control. I feel my body changing form.
Kid's pov
I don't understand, what just happened? Why was Luna so upset?
With everyone else starting to leave, it was just our gang and Luna's partners.
Drake and Drew watched Luna run away, but didn't move an inch. I decided to ask them a question.
"Do you two know why Luna acts this way?"
They both nodded. "Yes."
Maka then asked, "Can you please tell us why?"
Drew quickly shook his head. "We can't. We promised her we'd never tell anyone."
Blackstar crossed his arms. "Who cares, she obviously doesn't care about any of us!"
Drake was quick to reply. "Don't say that! You don't understand what Luna's been through."
Drew then asked us, "Do all of you really want to help her?"
Every one of us nodded, except for Blackstar.
Drew slightly smiled. "Then please, don't give up on her. Continue sticking by her side, no matter how much she tries pushing you away."
I returned his smile. "You can count on it."
Maka asked, "I have one more question. Kid and I have both seen her soul. Why is she so scared all the time?"
The twins looked at each other before Drew answered, "People. She's afraid of being around people."
My eyes grew wide for a second before returning to normal. Scared of people? Why? What is she hiding?
Drake stretched his arms. "We should be getting back. Need to check on Luna."
I blinked a few times. "Will she be okay?"
Drake simply grinned. "She'll be fine. She just needs time to cool off. See ya later."
The twins waved to us as they left. Liz looked at me questioningly.
"Now what? How do we get close to someone who pushes everyone away?"
I grinned. "I can handle that. I need to talk to my father. Liz, Patty, you two can go ahead and head home."
Liz shrugged. "Okay, see you at home, Kid."
Patty giggled and followed her sister. "Yay! I'm hungry! Let's eat when we get back!"
I headed to the Death Room while everyone else headed home. I think I have an idea to get closer to Luna.
Luna's pov
After washing the blood from my face, I laid quietly on the couch, watching as the sky outside got darker and darker. My ears twitched upon hearing the door open.
Already knowing who it was, I stayed in my spot. Drake came around the couch, looking at me in surprise.
"You must really be angry, Lulu. You're still stuck in wolf form."
Drew came over and crouched down so he was eye level with me.
"Don't worry, Luna. The others won't think any less of you, even after what happened."
I stood and jumped off the couch. Heading for the door, I simply stated, "I'm going out for awhile, I'll be back soon."
They didn't question me as I pushed the door handle and opened the door. I ran out and down an alley.
Making my way up to the roofs above, I jumped from roof to roof. Just running through the darkness of night, I feel like a monster.
I stopped at the edge of a roof, looking up at the grinning moon in the sky. Will I forever be running from the fear and hate? I felt a tear run down my cheek.
I suddenly heard a hiss, and looked down to see a familiar purple cat trapped in an alley by a stray dog.
I jumped down between Blair and the dog. I growled and snapped my jaws at the dog who was much smaller than me.
The dog backed away and whimpered as it ran away. I turned toward Blair as she sighed.
"Thanks, wolfie. Um, you're not going to eat me, are you?"
I sat down in front of her. "Don't worry, Blair, I don't eat cats."
Her eyes widened. "Luna? I thought you seemed familiar. So this is your animal form."
She circled around me. "Wow, you're very cool."
"Thanks, but I don't look like this on purpose. You haven't told anyone, have you?"
She shook her head. "Nope. Although I bet Maka and Soul would like you just fine."
I tilted my head. "You know Maka and Soul?"
"Yeah, I live with them. It's great, I get a free home and a cute little boy to play with."
She must mean Soul. "Well, I'll see ya later, Blair."
"Okay, bye!"
I walked down the empty streets toward home. Going inside, I saw Drake asleep on the couch. He must've dozed off while waiting for me.
I grabbed a blanket and pulled it over him before heading upstairs. Drew was there at the top of the stairs.
He smiled. "That was a nice thing you did for Drake."
"You saw?"
He nodded. "He stayed up just waiting for you to get back. He cares about you, you know. We both do."
I hung my head down. "I know. Thank you."
Drew started walking to his room. "Goodnight, Luna."
I went to my room, swishing my tail as I went. I nudged my way under the covers of my bed and curled up.
I yawned and closed my eyes. Goodnight, Drake, Drew. Thank you both for always staying by my side, my friends.
