[WHAT IF] Stupid Mistake
Here is the first of my additional chapters.
When writing chapter 7, the thought of Adrien finding out Marinette's identity through Tom playing the game and dressed as Ladybug was too good an opportunity to ignore.
So here you go, a random 'WHAT IF' fic.
WHAT IF: Adrien never received Ladybug's message to come to Sunday dinner later, and turns up to find a rather large guy named TOM playing UMS wearing his wife's Miraculous. What the hell was going on?
Alternate ending to chapter 7 of A Masked Mistake.

"Boo yah!" The roar from the sofa had Sabine and Marinette turn from her apartment kitchen, curious as to what Tom had accomplished. Marinette washed her hands off before placing the seasoned chicken in the oven and heading towards her father.
Ladybug and Chat Noir had been married for a couple of blissful weeks now, and Ladybug had decided it was time for Chat to meet the other important people in her life... her parents.
She squinted at the screen displayed on the television and gasped. TOM was now perfectly positioned in the number one spot, flashing in all its identity revealing glory.
"Papa?" Her voice stuttered, her eyes widening as she continued to look at the screen.
"You all think you're good, but none of you are as good as the master himself! Beat that my little 'Nettie."
"Papa!"
"Tom Dupain is number one!" He stood up striking his pose before dancing around the room, Marinette calling after him, time and time again, but he wasn't listening, too caught up in his own success.
"Tom, you idiot!" Tom froze at his wife's hard, demanding tone, Marinette stilling too. Her mother rarely raised her voice, the woman was the epitome of calmness, a calm river tickling down the stream...but it seemed like the river had turned into water water rapids as her mother was positively seething!
"What?" he asked, turning to look at his wife and daughter.
"You've typed your own name on there. What part of secret identities did you not understand?"
Tom's victorious smile suddenly disappeared when he'd realised what he'd done. It wasn't like Marinette could just delete it, once it was there it was a permanent addition to the game, until someone could wipe it off. But this score! It was impossibly high on a new game she hadn't figured out properly yet.
"Um, maybe now's the right time to reveal identities?" Tom defended himself. "It would be so lovely to meet the man behind the mask."
"Idiot!" Sabine said again, turning on her heel and heading back to the kitchen mumbling about 'I had told him', and that 'if he would just listen sometimes.'
Marinette sighed, looking between her father and the screen. The last thing she wanted was Chat figuring out her identity over this. It would be one of the most ridiculous reveal stories ever.
"Tikki," she called, praying that maybe Tikki could do something to help. Maybe she could fly into the computer and blow it up for something. The small red kwami appeared beside them, her eyes widening as she read the screen.
"Oh, Monsieur Dupain, what did you do?"
Her father gulped before sitting down and taking the controller, his hands slightly shaking. "How long do I have?"
Marinette checked her watch. 14 minutes.
"Unless Tikki can do something, you only have 14 minutes, and believe me when I say the guy is incredibly punctual." She tapped her father on the shoulders, before looking at Tikki.
"Sorry Marinette, apart from blowing it up, there's not a lot I can do."
Sighing, Marinette began to look around the room, her 'Marinette Vision' firmly kicking in; ending on a flashing pink cherry blossom Tikki.
"How about we give him a little Ladybug luck, Sweet Treat?"
Tikki nodded enthusiastically, Marinette removing her earrings and placing them on her fathers ears.
"Papa? Just say 'spots on'."
As Tom was overpowered by Ladybug luck, Tikki channelled her energy into helping him with the game before making her way to the 'Catphone'.
M'Lady: Hey Kitty, slight issue with the food. Can you give me another thirty minutes please? ❤️

"Your wife's messaged," Plagg came zooming into the bathroom, Adrien's phone in hand.
Adrien was brushing his teeth, preparing for a day with the in-laws. He hadn't slept last night. What if he messed this up? What if they told her to divorce him because he wasn't worth it? Even worse, what if her father turned into a Werewolf, filled Paris with vines and trapped her inside, away from him?
Spitting out the remaining suds, he washed and dried his face before taking the phone from Plagg. Unfortunately, Plagg 'Mr King of the Bad Luck curse' dropped the phone into the foam ladened sink.
"No!" Adrien screamed, "no, no, no, no!"
The phone was soaked, and even though it was 'water resistant' the screen was no more. Adrien grabbed the object and started drying it off the towel.
"Oooppsss,' Plagg responded, a growl leaving Adrien's throat as he continued to aggressively dry the phone.
He pressed the power button again and again only for the damn thing to not light up.
"Dammit Plagg!"
"I said I'm sorry!"
"No you didn't, I'm quite sure you just said oooppsss!" Adrien stated. "God, I hope this isn't something important."
"I doubt it. She would have rang if it was urgent."
"I guess you're right," he sighed.
He moved into his bedroom, tossing his phone onto the bed, and looking at what to wear today. Even though he was in his super suit he wanted to make sure he felt good, opting for a shirt and jeans combo and rolling the sleeves up to under his elbows. He looked down at his sad phone laying on the rumpled, lonely sheets wishing he was living with his wife. They'd hardly spent any time together except for an interview and a couple patrols in the past month and it was annoying him. He just wanted to be with her. He just needed to get over the fear of revealing. It was just one small step to euphoria.
"Okay, here we go. Plagg, claws out." In a flash of green he'd transformed into his alter ego, taking the sunglasses he slipped them on and freed Kaalki from the Miraculous. "Plagg, Kaalki, unify."
A second flash engulfed him, his suit representing that of a black beauty, as he opened a portal and headed into his apartment, only to be met by the colossal swearing of a rather large guy sitting on his soft in his wife's red and black polka dots, the initials TOM appearing on the screen.
"Um, hello?" Chat Noir said, calling off Kaalki's transformation and removing his sunglasses. "Are you Ladybug's father?"
The guy on the sofa jumped up, throwing the control in the air as he squealed out a sound you'd never expect to come from someone that size.
"Oh, hi! You must be Chat Noir, it's great to meet you." He stood to his full size and even at Chat's towering height he was massive. Stretching out a hand, Chat placed his own in this guy's tremendous giant of a hand.
"Yeah, that's me." Chat's attention was pulled to the television where TOM was still flashing on the screen.
TOM.
Could that be an anagram? Or was it initials for this guy? This big, tall guy... with the name Tom.
Tom. Tall. Big. Really big. Almost Weredad big.
A strained laugh left his lips as he studied the moustache of the man standing in front of him, he laughed again. Tom Dupain had a moustache just like this 'Big Bug'.
Tom.
T-o-m.
Marinette's father. The girl who he'd considered was Ladybug multiple times.
"Why are you? What are you...?"
Suddenly, the fire alarm blared out in the kitchen and a smaller woman came running out.
"Marinette, you need to sort the chicken out!" The woman stilled in her tracks and stared at the two men. "Oh dear. Sweetheart, you need to come out here."
Okay, so this woman. He knew this woman. Because this woman was married to Tom Dupain, and her name was Sabine Cheng. And Tom and Sabine were married just like he was. And they had a daughter, a daughter who's name was...
Chat watched as a woman came bounding out of their bedroom in a beautiful off the shoulder, pink summer dress. She looked beautiful, and he swore his heart flew away because there was no chance this wasn't a dream.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, his biggest supporter, and best civilian friend was actually his wife. Life could not get any sweeter than this.
"Oh God, oh no!" She ran forward and grabbed hold of his hand, his body too frozen to the spot to move. "I'm so sorry Chaton, I text you to come later, I know you didn't want to reveal."
She continued to ramble but he wasn't listening. There was no point because all he could think about was how good she smelled and the pink shine on her lips. Her lips that were moving ten to the dozen spewing out something about beetles? He didn't really know, he wasn't listening; instead he stepped forward, grabbed her waist and pressed his lips to hers, soaking in the flavour of her strawberry lip gloss he kissed her in a totally inappropriate way for her parents to see.
She pulled away from him, shock plastered on her face as she tentatively touched her lips with her finger tips.
"I - you - woah!" Marinette let out a deep breath as she stared at her partner, before heading towards him again; arms outstretched and lips puckered, only for Tom to stop her mid flow.
"Sweetheart, don't you think you'd be better off discussing this in the bedroom."
"Tom," Sabine hissed, the big guy obviously ignorant to what he'd just inadvertently advised.
"Take me to bed, Kitty."
Chat Noir gasped looking between Marinette and her parents. "We're not, I won't... phew! Is it hot in here or is it me?" He stretched up to rub the back of his neck only to freeze and bring his hand back down. "I didn't mean I'm hot, I mean, the temperature is hot."
He felt a hand in his as Marinette pulled him out of the room and towards their bedroom, giggling as they moved.
Entering the room, she closed the door and pushed him onto the bed before climbing onto his lap straddling her legs either side.
"I've never ever had a kiss like that." She sighed, tilting her head down to kiss him again, only for him to hold a finger to her lips and move her away.
Her eyebrows creased and she was probably wondering why he'd stopped her as much as he was thinking it himself. That kiss was mind blowing and all consuming so why the hell wasn't he just going in for another? It was obvious she liked it, damn he liked it too. A lot.
"I can't," he whispered.
"Why? Is it because I'm me? Because I'm telling you now that kiss you just gave me out there told me you were fine with being married to Marinette."
"I am totally fine with being married to Marinette."
"So why aren't you kissing me?" she was exasperated, he could tell by her tone and her actions as she attempted to climb off him.
He grabbed hold of her hips, securing her on his lap and making sure she couldn't get away. "You're not going anywhere Purrincess."
"Well, I may as well because my husband doesn't want to kiss me."
"That's not true and you know it. I'm quite sure when I kissed you out there it not only proved Chat Noir wanted to kiss you, but also do a hell of a lot more."
"Then 'do it'."
"No," he hissed. "I know your identity and that's not fair."
"I've wanted you to know for years now. I'm okay with this, even if you don't want to show me." She cupped his face so gently, he felt like he was made of china.
"But that's not fair," he uttered.
"I don't mind, Kitty, I swear. It's your secret to share."
She was so understanding, so gentle and caring that his heart bled from his own stupidity. They were going to be fine; they would be fine because they were together. Always together. He cupped her neck once more, pulling her towards him and connecting his lips to hers again.
Where the last one was filled with utmost desire, a hard, passionate kiss clashing together with the force of a high wave against a rock, this one was smooth and exploring; making sure he memorised every tiny detail of her perfectly glossed lips; etching it in his mind so he'd never forget the perfection of a loving kiss.
Keeping their foreheads together, he broke away just long enough to whisper the words and drop his transformation, Plagg leaving his ring as Adrien searched for her lips once more. It was a dream come true, only to break that barrier when she tugged on his hair and moaned into her mouth. Dear Lord, he was in heaven.
Moving away once more he noticed her eyes were still closed, a downward turn on her lips.
"Open your eyes, Marinette, it's only me."
"I'm scared."
"I understand but I need you to trust me the way you always have. I'm here for you Marinette, I'm yours. Only yours."
He watched as her eyes flickered open. The lids obviously battling with the heaviness of this situation, only for them to finally open and mesmerise him. He'd always loved Marinette's eyes but when they were full of love like this he felt almost sorry for everyone else who didn't get this Miraculous display.
Adrien watched the shock morph into joy as the smile stretched over her lips.
"Hello, Mr Agreste."
"Hello, Mrs Agreste."
Laughing together they moved in for another kiss, foreheads bashing each other in the moment.
They really were made for each other.
