Ladybug
The finale of Mr and Mrs Valentine Island was quite the island event. They'd pulled out all the stops, decorating the stage as though it were the Oscars. They had a dress code to match, discouraging anything but guests' finest wear. Ladybug currently stood at the side of the stage with Kagami staring out at the crowd scurrying to find seats for the main event.
The guys had been taken away to somewhere else, apparently not allowed to see each other until the challenge began. Ladybug smirked, thinking they may look a little different to when everyone last saw them. Her thoughts were divided between excitement and fear for what was to come.
"Do you think they know what they're doing?" Ladybug asked, chewing her thumb anxiously.
Kagami reached up, pulling Ladybug's nail from her mouth. "I'm certain that they don't."
Well, if that didn't fill her with confidence, nothing would.
"Hi!" The third girl in the competition came to join them. It was obvious she felt out of it. After all, Kagami and Ladybug were both visiting from France, and it was clear that they had formed some sort of friendship.
"Hello. How are you?" Ladybug welcomed the newcomer into the group as Kagami attempted to smile. A quick dig in the ribs caused Kagami's 'smile' to drop.
"Scared," she said with a nervous laugh. "After the other rounds, I'm a little worried what they'll throw at us."
The girl was around 24 years old, and if the shiny rock on her finger was anything to go by, she was most likely here on her honeymoon, or had just gotten engaged.
"I completely understand that. Hopefully they won't keep us waiting too much longer," Ladybug responded, passing on a warm smile.
All of a sudden, lights around the area began to flash, and dramatic music played over the speakers.
It was time.
The crowd started cheering and chanting their names as the host for the evening (Anthoney, of course) started to hype everyone with anticipation. What did he think this was? Britain's Got Talent?
"After a week of competition, this is it! It's time to crown Mr and Mrs Valentine Island." The crowd erupted again, and a nervous flutter took off in her stomach. This was it. The end to hopefully all the anxiety she'd been holding onto for the best part of four years.
"Please, welcome to the stage our finalists."
One by one, Anthoney called them up onto the stage, leaving Ladybug for the end. He was dragged her name out in the most annoying of ways, making her want to rebrand herself when they were back in Paris.
She bounded up the staircase two at a time, praying her partner would be there waiting for her. Unfortunately, no such luck.
Slowly moving to centre stage, she waved to the crowd and stopped near Anthoney. He presented her like a prize winner at Crufts before sending her to the others, each seated on a chair separated by a metre or so.
The applause died down, and Anthoney was back in Caesar Flickerman mode, microphone raised and a dashing smile on his face.
"You are all in for quite the entertainment tonight." He raised his arms, and the well trained audience showed their suspense in tandem, the area falling silent enough to hear a pin drop. "We had the wonderful partners of these lovely women come and meet us about an hour ago, and they chose the final challenge themselves." He raised his arms again to the well timed oohs and ahhs.
As if appearing from nowhere, three women walked onto the stage with some equipment in their hands. Were they going to give them a lie detector test? That would not be good in any shape or form.
"Lift arms, per favore." A woman waited until Ladybug had pieced together what she was asking before lifting her arms up into the air. A black strap was wrapped around her chest, some sort of monitor attached onto one side—right by her heart.
"The women are currently being attached to a heart rate monitor..."
She switched off, not needing to listen to what Anthoney said next because she was an avid watcher of Love Island and she knew exactly what would be coming next—thank goodness she had worn shorts and a crop top today.
Music began to blast and the first 'hopeful' entered the stage. A fireman—topless and covered in oil. Oh goodness! This was not going to be good.
The guy on the stage began to play it up to the audience, gyrating and placing his hands all over his body. It wasn't a bad body, by any means, but it was uncomfortable to watch, even more so when he started to make his way over to Kagami.
As always, her friend's face looked less than impressed, and as he began to grind on her, she couldn't have looked more displeased at being here. Félix was surely going to be in for it later this evening, and Adrien too. What the hell had possessed them to do this?
The guy moved to her next, placing one leg on the arm of the chair and rolling his hips towards her face. If her heart rate increased because of this, then it was one hundred percent through fear, not lust.
Finally, realising Ladybug was about to flip the chair in a need to escape, he headed over to his new wife/fiancée, lifting her over his shoulder and bringing her to the front of the stage. Yep! She was glad she hadn't worn a dress, if she was being thrown over a shoulder she wanted to keep her panties private.
She couldn't blame the guy for going at it with more enthusiasm than she did a new Gabriel magazine. If she was competing against a model and a superhero, she'd probably do something slightly extreme too.
Ladybug watched as he lay her down on the ground, holding himself in a press-up, and grinding down in the most provocative way. One thing was for certain, she was not excited in the slightest about Adrien taking to the stage. She dreaded to think what he was actually going to do. He was unpredictable and had zero embarrassment level, even more so when he was hidden under a mask.
The woman was hoisted onto her feet again, lifted above her husband's head and taken back to her chair, seating herself and fanning over her face with her hand. Her face was the colour of a volcano in mid explosion, the red scattering in unattractive blotches. There was no hope with this.
Applause continued as the guy left the stage (not without one last thrust) and, once more, the women were left alone. She gave Kagami a quick glance, hoping her friend was feeling as awkward as she was, but instead, she just saw fear in the fencer's eyes.
"Next up, put your hands together for Adrien Agreste."
Ladybug quickly looked to the side, her heart already increasing from the sound of Adrien's name, even though her head knew it would be Félix. She waited for the next contestant to appear, and when he did, she almost had a heart attack.
Félix Fathom strutted up onto the stage in a white fencing outfit, complete with foil and mask, posing like he was the finale act of Paris Fashion Week. He stopped in the middle of the stage, dropping the foil and whipping his mask off, shaking his hair as though modelling a new shampoo.
Making the stage his own, Félix attempted to create a dance in the style of Magic Mike, only this was more like Mike without the Magic.
She turned her head to the side to watch Kagami, the usually harsh looking girl suddenly brightening and wiggling in her seat. All of a sudden, he grabbed hold of the front of his suit and pulled, the whole thing unravelling from his body and leaving him in nothing more than a jock strap.
Ladybug's hands shot to her eyes, covering them over and blocking Félix's bare behind from her view. The white, tan-less, butt cheeks were not something she wanted to become familiar with, or be dreaming of.
She felt his presence in front of her, his hands grabbing her arms and moving them away from her face. She squealed from the sudden sight of Félix's torso. Closing her eyes tightly, she prayed he would finish whatever the hell he was attempting to do and move on.
She glanced at Kagami again, almost embarrassed for her friend as her eyes popped and she licked over her lips.
Eugh!
He seemed to realise Ladybug wasn't having anything apart from repulsive thoughts, because he moved on, taking his time to give Kagami a full body examination. Geez, when Gabriel Agreste catches wind of...
Her thoughts screeched to a full, hard stop! Gabriel is going to go ballistic...most likely ground Adrien for a hundred years, but more so, there must be a hidden mission here. A reason why. Something that will save them all. And if she knew Adrien as well as she thought she did—and she did—then he'd be free and off the hook with Tomoe and Kagami by the end of the evening.
Ladybug scanned the area, her eyes trying to find her partner and any clue of what was happening. For once, he was the mastermind behind the plan, coming up with the step-by-step and giving the needed details to the correct players.
She understood how he felt now, not understanding what was happening, the reason he'd become Catwalker. This was on such a small scale compared to what she had done to him. She'd tried so hard to protect him, to protect them, that she'd ended up alienating him—suffocating him in the same way his father did. That ended now!
Félix bowed to the audience, making his way to the staircase, but not without dropping her a wink first. This could not be good.
The music changed and Ladybug wasn't sure whether that was just for Chat or if that was a regular thing throughout the night. Everything was slowly combining into one big blur.
She saw white before she could notice any more details. The fabric looked brighter against his tanned skin and golden hair, a fabric wrapping around his body in a way she wanted to rip off with her teeth.
"Chat Noir!" His name boomed out of the speaker, vibrating around her ears and sending shivers down her spine. He was there...dressed like he was a character in Top Gun. Tom Cruise had nothing on Adrien Agreste in Navy Dress Whites.
Her heart rate had just entered a dangerous territory.
Placing his hat firmly on his head, Chat Noir began to play up to the crowds in a very Chat Noir way, one that he would never dream of doing in his civilian form. One that was getting every woman in the vicinity heated, only for the room to explode as he ripped off his shirt and tossed it over to Kagami.
A niggle of jealousy gripped onto her stomach. She had no need to feel that way, yet here she was, going all green over a shirt.
He kept his trousers firmly intact as he owned the stage with dance moves and hidden break dancing skills—and she'd never been more attracted to him. Midway through a 'worm', she felt the small butterflies grow and flutter around her body.
Moving forward, he wandered over to the girl in the first chair, bending down onto one knee and kissing her hand. It was not anything out of the ordinary for the cat themed hero. The girl blushed the colour of a rose, red and vibrant, and from the way her hand fell to her heart, it was definitely kicking up on the cardio Richter scale.
Chat Noir bounced over to Kagami next. He pulled her from her seat and began to dance with her, romantically and perfectly. Spinning her around and dipping her, they wouldn't have looked out of place on Dancing with the Stars. They looked wonderful together, their movement well timed and synchronised—not in a Ladybug and Chat Noir way, but from years of battling foils together.
Finally, he returned her to her seat before sauntering towards Ladybug. He leaned down, his hot breath hitting her neck and causing a shiver to flow down her spine. "Do you trust me?"
What kind of question was that?
He moved back from her a little, holding eye contact as he asked her again. "Do you trust me?"
She couldn't respond with words. Instead, she nodded crazily, her hands blindly reaching out for him. He took them gently, pulling her to her feet and leading her to the front of the stage. He looked sheepish, and one thing she knew about him...when he looked like that, she needed to be worried.
Taking the hat from his head, he placed it onto hers, and...oh my God! He wasn't...there was no way he was doing this...
Her heart rate must have been breaking the machine, because she was almost certain she was about to pass out. Her partner, her wonderful, kind, and caring partner who also was the world's most gorgeous model, was lowering himself down onto one knee...right in front of her.
"M'Lady, you mean everything to me, and being here with you for this past week, strengthening our relationship, has only made me realise I'm where I want to be and who I want to be with. So, Bugaboo, will you marry me?"
