Chat Noir

There are many moments in life Adrien wished he had filmed. Moments he would like to replay time and time again. Moments which would become core memories and times that would make him smile right into old age. And Félix's face as he flew backwards into the pool would definitely take a top spot.

He hit the water like a toddler hitting the floor mid-tantrum, the splash flying high and soaking himself and Ladybug. His fiery hero of a girlfriend stood over his cousin with steam almost flying out of her ears.

"You no good, lying piece of sh—"

"Woah!" Moving forward, he grabbed hold of Ladybug and pulled her back against his chest, watching as Félix resurfaced with a rather dramatic flick of his hair.

"What the hell did I do?" his cousin asked, swimming his way to the pool edge and preparing to get out.

Attempting to advance towards him, Chat Noir held Ladybug tighter, fearing for Félix's life.

"You know what you did," she said through clenched teeth.

Wrapping his arms around her even tighter, Chat Noir lowered his lips to her ear. "I thought you were over him?"

She wiggled again, and if he were face to face with her, he was almost certain he'd see her nose flaring. "How can I be over someone I've been getting under?"

In shock at her words, he let her go, causing her to stumble forward and land on top of Félix in the pool, taking them both under. He cringed as Ladybug resurfaced, spitting water out of her mouth at the same time as brushing her hair out of her eyes. Félix floated to the surface moments later.

Chat Noir wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. He'd just (without meaning to) pushed his girlfriend onto his cousin in the water after she'd figured out who he was and what they had done with each other. He didn't know whether to wait for her to get out and attack him or just throw himself off the cliff.

Finally realising he had legs, which meant he could walk, he rushed forward, bending down to offer a hand to Ladybug, only to be greeted by maniacal laughter.

She was laughing. The sound echoed through the silence of the area, growing louder and louder, and slightly more insane.

"I hate you!" she suddenly screeched, splashing quite the wave at an unsuspected Félix. "You're an asshole!" She splashed him again, her laughter growing more and more crazy with each and every tidal wave flowing over his cousin's head. Was she trying to drown him?

Félix fought against the water, sending a few of his own. "I only did what I had to do!" he exclaimed, covering her in a wave of his own attack.

"And what's that? Power up a psychopath with more artillery?" She sounded slightly insane, and he was starting to worry about what would actually come next if he didn't stop her soon.

It didn't take long for the attack to intensify, Ladybug placing a hand on Félix's head and pushing him down under the water.

Yep! She was going to kill him!

Not waiting another second, Chat Noir jumped into the water, trying to pull his girlfriend off the only member of his family he was (slightly) fond of. "M'Lady, come on, please!"

"No!" she said, an answer that he should've expected, yet he couldn't help the hope he would get through to her a little bit. Stopping her attack on Félix, she turned and sent a splash of water his way.

Moving forward, Chat Noir reached around her waist and pulled her back into his chest, holding her hostage and giving his cousin a chance to breathe. She continued to fight against him, pushing and splashing (and dunking him under at one point.) She was like a slippery eel, prying herself out of his arms before he had a chance to regain his grip.

"Go on, let her go! I can take her!" Félix hollered, wiping his hands over his face and sleeking his hair back off his face, looking like a Draco Malfoy cosplay.

"I'm not letting my girlfriend kill my cousin!"

The sudden gasp at the side of the pool had the water war come to a premature end. Standing on the poolside in a rather seductive nightdress, Kagami had her arms folded and a face that put Félix's and Ladybug's anger to shame.

"What are you doing?" Kagami's stern voice made it clear that she knew exactly what was happening and that she wasn't exactly pleased with being woken by three idiots in a pool.

"Skiing," Chat Noir said without thinking, causing both Ladybug and Félix to snort.

Kagami flicked her attention between them all, her eyes narrowing on Félix before making her demand. "Out!"

The way she said that one syllable caused everything inside Chat Noir to shrivel. Even with Ladybug's body firmly against his, he felt cold and judged, like she was about to ring his father and make sure he received an adequate punishment.

Chat Noir turned his head to Félix, watching as his cousin obediently scurry out of the pool and onto the deck, a wry smile on his face and an apologetic gleam in his eyes.

"Whipped!" Chat Noir said.

Ladybug snorted before she buried her head into his chest.

"And you two," Kagami said, demanding their attention. "Be in our villa in ten minutes. If not, I'll come and find you."

Kagami, more terrifying than Liam Neeson in Taken, grabbed Félix by the arm and dragged him into the villa like a naughty school child, leaving Chat Noir and Ladybug alone in the pool.

They turned to face each other, shy, red tinged smiles greeting each other. "Did you want to talk?" he asked, hoping this wasn't going to be the end of what had been an exciting, wonderful relationship.

Ladybug took a moment, and he wasn't sure whether she was doing it for dramatic tension, or if she was thinking. Suddenly, she moved forward, her arms lifting out of the water, causing him to flinch backwards.

She chuckled. "How can we have a relationship if you flinch every time I lift my hands?"

"After seeing you take down Félix like that, I'm not taking any chances." He smiled, moving slightly forward and allowing her hands to push over his shoulders before looping around his neck.

"Nah, I never hurt my favourites."

"Favourites?"

"Well, yeah! I thought after what we've been doing, and what I have embarrassingly let you in on, you would know you're too precious to me."

"Well, I am a gem."

She laughed again. "Yes, you are."

"Are you mad?" he asked, tentatively grabbing her hips and pulling her closer to him.

She shrugged nonchalantly. "I don't think I have a right to be."

Well, she was a lot more understanding than he thought she would be.

He tightened his grip on her. Her face suddenly turned coy. "You might have, though?"

His eyebrows pulled together. "Might have what?"

"A reason to be mad." Her cheeks deepened in colour, a wonderful sight to behold.

"Why?" Why, oh why, would he have a reason to be mad at such a wonderful, yet slightly weird, woman?

"What I said about you—about Adrien."

It took him a moment for it all to sink in. What had she said about Adrien? "Oh!"

"Yeah," she said, her head dropping down onto his shoulder.

"But that wasn't about me." She pulled back, but his hands kept her body connected, putting them in a rather awkward position in the water.

"A little too late to try and hide your identity now, Kitty Cat. I'm about 98% sure you're Adrien, and that asshole, who was just marched back into the villa, was Félix."

He couldn't deny it. They'd pretty much outed themselves during their conversation on the way back from the cove, and the attempted drowning made it certain she knew that Adrien was actually Félix.

"No, I mean, you didn't say that about Adrien. You said it about fake Adrien."

"I pretty much admitted to stalking you."

"Which was cute! And if it makes you feel any better, you got every single one of my questions correct. It was actually freaky until I realised who you were." He stretched up and moved a stray strand of hair from her face, his thumb lingering over her eyebrow before following the edges of her mask. "I'm sorry I didn't know the scarf was from you. I think I always knew it wasn't from my father, but I just thought maybe Nathalie broke protocol and got me something nice for a change."

"Technically, she did get you something nice. My present."

They giggled together, her eyes sparkling in a way he'd never seen before. "Are you okay with this?" he asked. The excruciating pain of rejection from Marinette's and Adrien's last interaction played in his mind. "You told me you would never love me again."

She sighed, her own hands moving from around his neck to his biceps. "I was confused and overwhelmed, and, I think, slightly scared. I've had all these...ideas...about us over the years, and then it was happening, and my expectations..." She trailed off, and he was certain he knew the continuation of that sentence.

"I messed it up." His voice had gone low, keeping it quiet and out of earshot of their neighbours.

She was quick to deny that he'd done something wrong, but he knew in his heart he had. Just like with Ladybug, he went too hard and too heavy—too quickly.

"I did. I should have gone slower. I should have spent time building our friendship into something more. I shouldn't have gotten excited after our trip to André's and hearing about you loving me... I never thought you would have just...stopped." Chat Noir dropped his hands from her waist, once again giving her the opportunity to move away from him if she wanted too.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"I'm doing it again, aren't I?"

She removed her hands from his face and he was almost certain she was about to move away, to climb out the pool and suggest they forget everything and go back to how things had been.

It didn't matter that he was Chat Noir, because he was also Adrien Agreste. The Adrien Agreste who told her he loved her and she told him to go away.

Her hands disappeared into the water, and he almost jumped out of his skin as they met his. She pulled them towards her and positioned them onto her ass. "I want this. I want you. I want to be with you as your partner, best friend, and lover. I want your babies, and I want to share a mortgage with you."

"Oh," he said with a hint of amusement in his voice. "A mortgage? I don't know if I'll ever be ready for that kind of commitment."

She giggled and moved her hands back to his shoulders. "This is it for me. It's you or nothing. I'm not scared anymore. If anything, I feel braver than I ever have."

He swallowed down the lump gathering in his throat. "That's quite a speech."

"And you're quite a guy."

Slowly, he felt his lips pulling at the corners, his head searching to connect with hers. "So, we're doing this?" he asked, their noses brushing across each other gently.

"If you want to."

"I want nothing more."

His eyes fluttered closed, his lips tingling with anticipation. He edged forward, absorbing her warm breath as it fanned across his face, growing closer and closer, until...

"You have three minutes!" Kagami's voice boomed from the terrace and caused Chat Noir to move away from Ladybug.

The tension broke, and he watched as she pushed herself up and onto the pool ledge. It was quite the view. She looked over her shoulder, and he was sure she'd caught him ogling her ass. "We'd better go before she comes to find us,' Ladybug said, a smile firmly placed on her lips.

Disappointed, Chat Noir followed her out of the pool and in the direction of the bedroom, water dripping in puddles as they walked to the staircase.

"You know," Ladybug started, her eyes sparkling in a very Ladybug way. "We don't have time to shower separately."

As always, he understood the meaning behind the plan straight away. "That's very true. Just tell me what you need me to do."

If he thought her eyes were sparkling already, then it was nothing compared to what he was seeing now.

"I think you'll like this one."
