Chat Noir

Adrien had, for the better part of four years, dreamed of waking up next to Ladybug. To roll over in bed and loop his arms around her waist, snuggling into her back and dropping delicate little kisses along her neck to wake her up. She'd giggle and snuggle back into him—his whole world feeling right for once in his life.

Yet, here he was. Waking up. Next to Ladybug. And thinking about how he could escape.

Somehow, during the night, his Lady had managed to wrap them both in the duvet and pin him down with a leg that was as heavy as lead. She was such a tiny woman, so how the hell was she so strong?

So instead of waking up in this romantic dream of kissing and cuddling, he woke up as a sweaty mess feeling like he was in a straight jacket. He needed to figure his way out of this silk cocoon and go grab some water before a paramedic had to come and save him.

Pushing his hands underneath the duvet, he felt where her leg was and attempted to slip it off him. With more and more force, he pushed her leg without a movement of an inch. Oh, man! She slept like the dead.

"M'Lady," he whispered, pushing her leg again. She grumbled, snuggling herself in closer. He was seriously going to die of suffocation—not great when you had claustrophobia.

"M'Lady!" He tried again, pushing harder and becoming satisfied when she grumbled and rolled to face the opposite direction.

Success!

Quickly, Chat Noir unravelled himself, headed out the bedroom and down towards the kitchen. He was parched to the point he was considering sticking his head underneath the faucet to take in more water than he would from a glass.

Making it to the kitchen, he noticed his glass from the previous night laying on the draining board. With a swift grab, he placed it under the tap, filling it halfway before swigging it down and filling it again. Hello, liquid relief!

The previous night had been...interesting. It was obvious Ladybug's demeanour towards him had changed, almost to the point he thought she was flirting with him. The looks. The sly touches. The mishaps in the bedroom. It was almost guaranteed that she was beginning to see him in a different light, but with every laugh, every touch, every smile, he couldn't help but wish it were Marinette.

This break was meant to give him time to himself and a chance to sort out his feelings. He had made an itinerary and everything. He was going to relax in the day and fret at night, creating flowcharts and pros and cons lists, and just deciding what he was going to do—who he was going to pursue.

Once he'd decided what his next move was, he was going to create a foolproof play by play, go home and win his girl. But...Ladybug. She would always be there in the back of his mind, and seeing her look at him—truly look at him—was something his heart had desired for so long. She was beautiful, and they just clicked, whether it was through the power of the Miraculous or them, he didn't know. But they worked together in the most wonderful ways, and he couldn't help that feeling of falling all over again.

Placing the glass in the sink, he headed to the kettle. While Ladybug was still asleep he could have some time to consider his options and have a cup of coffee on the patio. This place was magnificent. Somewhere he would love to come back to, more specifically, with a romantic partner. That is to say, Marinette.

Splash!

The sound of a body hitting the water outside caused Adrien to freeze. What, or should he say, who was that?

An unmistakable sound of girlish giggles, sailed in through the closed patio doors—girlish giggles which seemed familiar yet unusual all the same.

Cautiously, Chat Noir made his way over to the doors, flicking open the slats and finding himself in front of a picture he never thought he would see—Félix jumping into the pool before splashing a very smiley Kagami.

This was not part of the plan.

"Félix!" Effortlessly sliding the door open, Chat Noir stepped outside, forgetting who he was.

"Félix? I wish!" Félix snorted, an eyebrow raised in his direction. He studied him like the most recent addition to the Louvre before an almost impressed expression transformed his face. There's no way his cousin wouldn't put two and two together with a slip up like that.

"Oh, sorry, my bad," Chat Noir said, moving forwards and crossing his arms over his chest—his much more muscular and impressive bare chest. Félix really needed to go to the gym more often, the guy was a runt. "Though I always pictured Adrien Agreste to look more impressive. I suppose airbrushing is quite the done thing these days."

Chat Noir stood smugly as the smile melted off Félix's face. "I always knew you were an arrogant prick."

"Adrien!" Kagami huffed, looking at Félix. Chat Noir couldn't help but wonder if she was in on the ruse, or if she truly believed Adrien (he) had asked her to spend the week with him in one of the most romantic resorts in the world.

"What's going..." A new voice sounded from behind him. Great! Let's add another character to this neverending comedy.

"We have neighbours," Chat Noir said, turning around and eyeing up his partner who seemed to be looking between 'Adrien' and Kagami like she was about to take down an akuma.

"I can see," she sneered. Her teeth were clenched, and if he were Félix he would be scared for his life.

His partner came to stand beside him, wrapping an arm around his waist. She rested her head against his bicep and placed a hand on his stomach, almost as though she was drawing attention to it.

"Good to see you both again." Her voice had turned sweet, soothing like honey, but he knew a sting of a bee was hidden under there. "I hope you don't mind sharing a pool with us. We can get a little mushy sometimes. New relationship and all."

"Really? So, how long has this been going on?" Kagami said, her eyes fiery as she looked straight in their direction.

"I could ask you the same thing," Ladybug bit back. Both girls had seemed to go into some sort of stand off, one which was highly fascinating and slightly terrifying at the same time.

It seems he wasn't the only one who noticed.

Félix looked uncomfortably from one to the other, his eyes flickering with as much fear as Chat Noir felt.

"Would you mind if I spoke to you for a second, please?" Félix asked him, clambering out of the swimming pool more like James May than James Bond. He really needed to drag Félix down to the gym with him when they arrived back in Paris.

Félix grabbed a towel from the sun lounger as he walked past and into the villa next door. Chat Noir followed behind wondering if Félix was going to transform and summon him to a duel. A fight for the territory...in their ladies honour, of course.

"Close the door," Félix demanded.

Tentatively, he moved backwards, his finger circling his ring in preparation for a full transformation. He was sure he could take Félix. The guy was a weed and didn't want to mess up his face.

"Drop the mask, dear cousin."

Chat Noir stood frozen. Damn it! "You're not exactly a master of disguise, Chat Noir. The look of horror on your face seeing Kagami here sold you out, before you said my name."

Unsure what to do, he remained standing there like a complete idiot. Félix rolled his eyes and headed to the fridge grabbing out two bottles of water and tossing one over to a dumbfounded Adrien. The choices here were minimal. He could either reveal himself, or kill Félix, the latter feeling the most appropriate. If Marinette found out Adrien was here with his ex-girlfriend and her best friend, he was almost certain he'd never win her heart again, so there was only one option. Death it was.

"Don't be so dramatic," Félix said, rolling his eyes and obviously reading Adrien's not so innocent thoughts.

"Fine." Abandoning the idea of disposing of his lookalike somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea, he dropped his transformation, removing the quantum masking.

"There he is," Félix chastised, indicating for Adrien to seat himself opposite on the breakfast bar.

"Why is Kagami here? That wasn't part of the deal."

"Don't worry that pretty head of yours. I emailed Marinette as you—you need to change your password by the way—and said because of the new advertisement, you and Kagami have some additional promo to do."

"You emailed Marinette?" Adrien dropped down on a bar stool and rested his head down on the cold granite as he let out a long, guttural groan.

"Of course. Should I have emailed someone else? It seems I can't keep up with your girlfriends. If I'd known you were with Ladybug again I wouldn't have bothered." A smug, smiling Félix hopped onto a barstool opposite him.

"What do you want, Félix?" Adrien asked. His cousin's eyes glittered in the sunlight as he threaded his fingers together and rested them on the top of the table. Adrien most certainly shouldn't have asked.
