Scandal

Ladybug burst out laughing.

"Kitty, how long were you dating her for?"

"We had one date at her house. I made a mistake telling her father than I loved you and he ended up akumatised."

Ladybug couldn't hold back the laughter. She had built it up in her head, she really thought she'd got him. That she'd found out who her kitty was, but nope. Still not a clue.

"And here I was thinking you were Adrien Agreste," she said.

"What is it with you and Adrien Agreste? I feel like you're going to go running off into the sunset with him." Chat Noir was dying inside, containing his laughter was beginning to hurt. His bugaboo had always been so secretive, but now, well, he was finding out all sorts of scandalous information about her. About her love for him. She'd always loved him! What a thrill!

"Honestly, that ship has sailed. He's never looked at me that way." She swung her yo-yo out a couple of times, laughing to herself about what a situation she'd gotten herself into.

"'Looked at you'? As in Ladybug you?" Curiosity was getting the better of the cat and he needed to know more information. Was there a possibility he knew her out of the costume? If so, how had he overlooked her?

"Nope, as in plain old boring me." She laughed again.

"Purr-lease you're anything but boring. I've known you for so long I don't think there's anything left that would surprise or shock me. I've seen you at your best and your worst, and I still want you. You are anything but boring."

It made her insides warm to know that he wanted her the way he did when they were impressionable teens, but to know that he still felt it now, woah it was incredible . One thing was for sure, she never doubted the love he had for her, the love she'd grown to need.

"How do you know there's not some hidden scandal just waiting to be revealed? I could be -" she dramatically paused, looking around to make sure no one was listening, "Lila Rossi."

"I want a divorce!"

They both laughed at Chat Noir's deadpanned response. The mood completely changed from when they'd first met that evening.

Ladybug rested her head on Chat's shoulder, playing with her yo-yo and making cats cradles. He wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her forehead.

"So how scandalous are you?" Chat asked, he reached out for her yo-yo and she passed it over willingly.

"I'm an Angel." She said with a sigh.

"I know you look like one, but don't you have a slightly devilish side? There's got to be something you've done that you're not particularly proud of. Something the police would arrest you for."

Her laughter rang through the air again that evening. She looked over to him a gleaming smile seated on her face, life with him was going to be amazing. Not many people could make her laugh as much as he did, actually there was one other person, but his name would not be brought up again that evening.

"You really want to know? I don't want to tarnish your thoughts of me."

"Is it that bad?" He gasped, swinging the yo-yo around, "did you steal one of Adrien Agreste's hairs to make a voodoo doll?"

So much for not bringing up his name. She grabbed the yoyo off Chat Noir, making sure the momentum hit him on the head before it landed in her hand.

"Worse, Kitty, so much worse."

Chat couldn't keep the smirk from stretching over his face. This was great. He was sure he was about to find something out he could hold against her once they were married, sort of a blackmail for kisses, or other things.

"I stole his phone."

Well that was unexpected. Chat flinched back. What?

"What did you say?"

Ladybug groaned and covered her face.

"I stole his phone ok. I'm not telling you more than that, but it wasn't my greatest hour."

For once in his life Chat Noir was speechless. She stole his phone, Ladybug had taken his phone. What kind of girl was she?

"Um, O ... K?"

"I know what you're thinking, but like I said I was obsessed, and only fourteen."

"Were you close?" He asked.

"I can't answer that," she replied.

"Did anyone else know you'd stolen it?"

"I can't answer that either."

"What did you do to it?"

"Kitty, stop. We've hit a stalemate and I will not budge."

"I can't believe I'm marrying a common thief."

"I gave it back."

Chat couldn't believe what was happening. Who the hell was this girl? Who? What? Why? When? He had so many questions he didn't know where to begin. He made a mental note to get a notebook and start writing things down. They had so much to talk about when they finally revealed, when they were married. Oh, he was marrying a stalker of his. He didn't know whether this was a good thing or a bad thing.

"Can I just clarify that you haven't done anything like that for a while? I mean, I love you I really truly do, but if you're a little bit of a crazy person I want out." He spoke slowly, looking at her to see her reaction.

"I haven't done anything like that since I was fourteen, and yes I know it was crazy. Believe me, Tikki's given me a good talking to over time about my behaviour."

Chat hummed in her direction, wild thoughts running through his head. Should he take this as a red flag? It was years ago, and would he really have minded back then if he had known? He supposed it would have depended on the girl? Does it matter now? He supposed it would be the context it was in. It was obvious she could read the look on his face, and decided to tell him what had happened.

"Fine, I'll tell you."

His eyebrows shot up, well, what could be seen of them.

"I'd left him a voicemail, and what I said was incredibly embarrassing. He would have hated me. I called him hot stuff."

He burst out laughing, that was not what he had expected at all. He thought she would have gone through his phone, not just erased a message. He let out a sigh of relief. At least she wasn't a bunny boiler. He didn't think he could deal with a possessive wife. Not in his line of work.

"Ok, I suppose I can let you off, but I will be keeping my phone on me at all times."

"Har-de-har. I swear I'd never do anything like that again. I was young and naive."

She reached over to Chat and placed her arms around his neck.

"I promise your phone will be safe, and I won't go all psycho on you. Like you said, you know me."

He was beginning to think he didn't know her as well as he thought he did. Perhaps he'd need to dig a little deeper? Make sure he knew a little more about the woman he was about to marry. They continued to chat for the next hour before Ladybug let out a less than feminine yawn.

"I better be off, kitty."

She turned to him and placed a delicate kiss to his lips before pulling back. She looked into his eyes and saw something primal. Before she could ask him if he was ok, he'd pulled her in and gave her a temperature rising kiss. Ooh la la!

"I do love you, even if you're a little bit on the kooky side." He said.

She let out a breathy laugh before kissing him again.

"I love you, too."

She took out her yo-yo and swung away. Once the distance between them was large enough, he dropped his transformation and caught Plagg in his hands offering his companion a wedge of cheese.

"You know her right?" Adrien was still looking into the distance, trying to figure out where the red dot had disappeared too. Did she live near the Eiffel Tower? Or maybe a little further out, like near the Moulin Rouge in Montmartre?

Plagg swallowed his cheese and looked at the unease on Adrien's face.

"I do know her quite well."

"And is she a bit ... nuts?"

Plagg burst out laughing. There were many things you could call Marinette, but nuts was not one of them.

"Listen kid, I know her well. I've spent a lot of time with Tikki over the years and viewing the bug as a civilian, and all I can say is that girl is crazy for you. Every side of you. Every pun, every pout, and even your villainous father. Yes she has done a far few questionable things over the years relating to you, but she's also done a lot of positives too. You'll be happy with her, and you will understand more when you find out who she is."

"That was a heartfelt speech there, Plagg."

"Don't tease me," he said.

"Also, Mr Tiny God of Destruction, you've just let me know that I know her."

"I never said that," Plagg began to panic, he'd said too much.

"You pretty much did. You've also given me a clue to who she might be."

"I don't know what you're talking about." The grumpy kwami crossed his arms over his chest and hovered away from his owner.

"I'm not going to pry," Adrien explained, "but it won't stop me from thinking, plus I've managed to narrow it down slightly by eliminating Kagami, Chloe and Marinette."

Never in his life had Plagg wanted a new owner more than in that minute.
