Roses

Marinette took a deep breath and looked at her mother and father, they both kissed her on the cheek before lowering her veil and calling their transformations.

"Are you ready to be Mrs Agreste?" Alya, aka Rena Rouge, walked to her embracing her in a hug.

"I've been ready since I was thirteen." Ladybug laughed. "Is all this actually real?" She asked no one in particular.

"You deserve it sweetheart, you two are made for each other."

They smiled between them as the opening bars to her entrance music began.

"This is it." Ladybug sighed, "he better be at the altar and not have gotten cold feet."

Her parents and Rena laughed, there was no way Chat Noir wasn't going to be standing at the bottom of the altar.

Marinette had contacted Clara Nightingale with a request, well actually Ladybug had, they wanted a piano instrumental of her Miraculous song as the bride's entrance music. She'd rearranged the composition to sound more like a ballad, but then sent the score to Adrien to record. It seemed Chat Noir had put in his own request to her too.

This was it. This was the moment they were to be joined together forever, and her heart was at the speed of a cardiac arrest. Why was she suddenly so nervous?

Rena was the start of the bridal procession, walking down the aisle at the speed directed by the music. Half way down she stopped and she saw Carapace give her a wink. Together the Maid of Honour and the Best Man dropped their transformations. Alya was left standing in a floor length pink dress, one strap holding the dress on her body and solid pleats in the length of the skirt. The dress was designed like one you'd see on a Greek Mythical Goddess, and fit Alya's curves wonderfully. Nino was matching in his three piece suit. Black slacks and jacket, cream waistcoat with pink detailing and a pink silk cravat. A white rose placed perfectly in his buttonhole, matching the sparkling white rose display in Alya's hands. The roses were joined by jewels, and edged with glitter - magical just like their owners.

Trixx flew up front to meet Wayzz, both in their wedding attire complete with tiny hats. Fluff was seated on the white rose arch around where Alix was standing, waiting for her fellow kwami's to come and join her. Alix nodded to Alya as she looked around the room. Marinette had given 'Miraculous' to all their friends. Everyone was here. Tears pooled in the bottom of her eyes, everything was perfect.

Gasps and chatter sounded around the room; exclamations of 'it can't be' and 'it was them all along' filled the air, along with people realising there was only one male from their class not there. Could he be the groom? Questions then went to Ladybug; was it Chloe? Lila? Sabrina? Marinette?

Chat gave Alya a smile as she made her way to the front with the boys. She gave Chat Noir a wink.

"You're not going to be ready for this, Catboy." She said, turning her head back towards the entrance.

Chat followed her gaze as his eyes set upon the beauty in front of him. There was Ladybug. His wonderful, lucky Ladybug. She was dressed as normal, but there was something different, it was as though he could finally see through the mask, he could finally see Marinette.

Her parents were either side of her, and she held a bouquet matching Alya's, only it was larger. The ribbon wrapped to make the handle, cascaded down in two waterfalls of silky white, gleaming and flashing under the sunlight, the red of her gloves clashing with the purity it represented.

They couldn't keep their eyes off each other, following the footsteps of the bride until they were face to face. She could see the glistening in the bottom of his eyes, tears welling with overwhelming emotion. She smiled and reached out for his hand.

"You ready, Princess?"

"Of course, my Prince."

Keeping their eyes firmly on each other they called for their transformations to drop. The gasping in the room was nothing compared to the sound that left Adrien's mouth. She was stunning. The strapless sweetheart neckline was wrapped in chiffon, the centre of her chest encrusted with beads, pearls and diamonds, the high waistline of the skirt fanned out to an impressive fully circled skirt. Layers upon layers made the skirt stand out to perfection, with a sparkling white tulle layer finishing the look. Her veil was over her face, the netting dotted with Swarovski diamonds and her hair in a sophisticated updo perfect for the hot weather of the Maldives. Adrien was quite sure he'd died and gone to heaven.

Marinette was currently having her own dilemma. She didn't realise Adrien could look so ruggedly handsome. He'd kept his hair in his Chat Noir style, tamed but slightly messy. He was wearing a matching tuxedo to Nino, only his buttonhole was a little more exuberant. He looked like a blonde James Bond, and she could feel herself swoon. He was about to be her husband.

A cheer suddenly broke them out of their love sick gaze, as they saw all their friends and classmates cheering for the couple, holla's of 'it's about time' and 'I knew it' reached their ears.

Adrien grabbed Marinette's hand and raised it in the air, much to the embarrassment of the raven haired girl. She started to laugh covering her face with her bouquet, before turning to her father. Tom and Sabine had called off the transformations and Marinette was in awe at how wonderful her parents looked. Tom gave his daughter a teary smile as he lifted the veil off her face, and handed her bouquet to Alya to hold. Tom stepped in between Marinette and Adrien, presenting her hand to the young blonde in marriage.

"We love you, son." Once the young lovers were joined Tom gave Adrien a slap on the back and left to go and stand with his wife.

"I'll take good care of her." He said in response.

"We know you will."

Tom left the two together, ready to join their lives in holy matrimony.

The service was flawless. Alix had worked hard to make sure it was personalised to the two heroes and their unique love story, dropping in stories about them in both forms. Marinette was first to deliver her vows; heartfelt and full of appreciation for her partner and best friend. The room was full of tears and no one thought they could cry anymore, but then Adrien stepped up to the plate.

He looked towards Nino and Plagg as the latter handed him a single rose.

"I wanted to present you with flowers when we revealed, but instead you had to make do with candles and rose petals." She laughed through the tears streaming down her face, she felt like a Princess in a fairytale. Everything was just perfect. "You once mentioned to me that I didn't understand the meaning of roses, and you couldn't accept my red one the first time I offered it to you, or the second, or the third and the fourth. So I wanted to let you know I've done my homework." Smiles could be seen as laughter filled the air. Everyone knows full well about Adrien's attempt  at winning his lady's heart.

He handed a single burgundy rose to Marinette and began to recite the speech he'd practiced a million times. Plagg currently perched on his shoulder in his mini tuxedo, looking fondly at his owner. Tikki next to Marinette in a dress mirroring Alya's.

"This rose represents the unconscious beauty, which is the beauty we all see within you. Not only as Ladybug, but as Marinette too. Your soul is the most beautiful thing I've ever known, even when we were 'just friends' you went out your way to know me for me, putting my needs before your own."

Her smile was being run over by the tears streaming down her face. This man, her soulmate, was truly something else.

He took the next rose from Nino and passed it over, Blue.

"This is the final rose I thought I would have to give you. The rose of unattainable desire and impossibility. I thought at some point you'd finally just tell me it was impossible and, even though, I'm sure it was close a few times, here we are committing our lives to each other, promising to love each other forever. The only impossibility now is to stop loving you."

Plagg next arrived with a pink rose.

"As Ladybug you have the perfect grace, and as Marinette you have no idea how much I appreciate your loyalty and your devotion, you bring me an insane amount of happiness no matter which form you are in."

Nino passed over the next. Purple.

"Love at first sight." She whispered to him through the tears, a slight amusement in her voice.

"It was love at first with Ladybug, you crashed into me and I couldn't help but fall for you literally and metaphorically. Marinette enchanted me. The first friend I made on my own; so forgiving, so kind."

Marinette smiled at her soon to be husband clutching hold of the flowers he'd already given to her, it was beginning to make the most perfect bouquet.x

Plagg arrived next with a light pink rose. The boy had really done his homework.

"I first gave you a pink rose when I turned up at your house as the 'love of your life' and akumatized your father." The room laughed and Tom winked at Adrien and Marinette. "You lied to me to save your identity, yet here you are today, about to marry me. I'm not sure if you won or I did." Another round of laughter broke out around the room, "this rose shows how much I admire you, and love your sweet nature."

Nino presented a yellow rose to Adrien, giving Marinette a quick wink.

"This was the first colour rose you accepted, the rose of friendship. At the time you asked me if I gave it to you to signify jealousy, and if I'd known you were Marinette I'm quite sure it would have. When I gave you this your heart belonged to someone else, I'm just lucky I had a second chance." He dropped her a wink, causing her to laugh. Even though she was with Luka, her heart was never there. It never could be when she had Adrien and Chat.

Two shades of peach arrived next. Bright and pale.

"I love your modesty, your enthusiasm and most of all I love your creativity. Your skills have managed to get us out of many sticky situations, and the couple of times I had to be Mr Bug, well, it showed how uncreative every bone in my body is, and how much you compliment me. We're the perfect team."

She was dying to just grab him and kiss him, but she knew he hadn't finished yet. She was sure there were more colours to come.

As Adrien began to talk about his desire for her she took a quick look out to their friends, or should she say family. The beaming faces looking at her, along with tear streaked cheeks and wobbly smiles. It seems she wasn't the only one a mess at the moment. She was going to look awful by the wedding breakfast at this rate, the photographs would be ruined. She took a deep breath and tried to steady herself for the next.

Yellow with red tips, but not just one. Two.

"You get two of these; one for Marinette and one for Ladybug."

He handed them over and turned to Nino to get the next one. Marinette looked at the congregation and explained the rose's significance.

"The rose means falling in love."

'Ooo's and 'aahh's' circulated around the chapel.

He held out a white rose to her.

"This is to represent the beginning of our relationship, of our partnership, our youth. The innocence of our love and friendship, the boy who fell for the brave, beautiful superhero and the girl who fell for the kind, misunderstood model."

Nino stood beside him with two remaining roses. Adrien took the solid red one first and handed it over. This was becoming a familiar tradition with Adrien/Chat Noir, he loved to give her red roses.

"You're no stranger to these, I think I need to buy a rose bush to save some money on red roses." Another round of giggles rang through the chapel, "I first gave you one of these the day of 'Glaciator',"

"Keep it, it matches your suit." Marinette said, "I still have it at home pressed in a book."

Adrien smiled down at Marinette.

"There's another tale to tell about a red rose. The beginning of Adrien falling in love with Marinette. It was the day you stalked me and snuck into the swimming pool, crashing into me and flattening Mr Pigeons pigeon. That pigeon at the time was carrying a red rose in its beak. It was like a spark of something special, a spark of something new, something that I could only ever feel with you. The red rose sums up you. You are my red rose. You are brave, passionate, loving and beautiful."

He took the next rose out of Nino's hand - red and white - and handed it over to join the others.

"And finally we are united as one."

She clutched onto the roses like they were the meaning of her life. Before wrapping her arms around Adrien and kissing him. Applause broke out around the chapel as Alix stepped in to pull them apart.

"Woah, we're not there quite yet."

They both laughed, wiping at their salty tears and prepared to exchange their rings. Both plain platinum bands, nothing fancy was needed, just a signal of their love.

Alix continued with her spiel before leading them, Alya and Nino to sign the marriage license. A few photographs were taken, kisses were exchanged and congratulations were spoken. Finally, Alix brought them back to the altar to announce them as man and wife.

"You may kiss the bride." Alix announced.

No one was shocked as Adrien Agreste dipped Marinette Agreste dramatically, and placed his lips firmly onto hers.
