Patrol

"I hear Tenerife is nice in the winter. It has a very stable temperature."

"Yeah, but I was thinking of somewhere more exotic, somewhere a bit further away. I haven't been on holiday in years, I think our New York trip was one of the last."

"Which? When I interviewed the heroes for my blog two years ago."

"Yeah." Marinette was sitting next to Alya on the sofa, laptop open on her thighs. There was a specific reason she was looking at such places, and the choice had to be perfect. She and Chat Noir had decided they wanted to get married soon. So it was looking like a winter wedding, but that meant a trip to somewhere warmer. There was no way she was getting married in snow.

"What about Cape Verde? Or the Maldives?"

Marinette typed both into the search engine and gasped at the pictures. Both places were stunning. She opened a page showing little huts on the beautiful blue water in the Maldives and her heart melted. This is where she wanted to get married. If she couldn't have the huge Parisian wedding she'd dreamed about then this is where she was going to go.

"Oh wow!" Alya looked over Marinette's shoulder at the huts sitting above the water's tide.

"I think, no, I know, I want to go here. This is where I want to get married."

"I completely ag-" Alya stopped midword. Married? Did she hear right? "Marinette?"

She looked over and her friend quickly stood and walked into the kitchen.

"Get back here now!" Alya demanded.

Marinette slowly walked back and sat beside her best friend, looking like a toddler who was one more action away from being placed on the naughty step.

"How are you, by the way? You never told me about your last date with Nino?" Marinette hoped the power of distraction would work. Alya liked to talk about her dates. She didn't need Marinette to tell her anything about a wedding, or that she was marrying her partner.

"Don't try that with me girl. You said getting married and then went all crazy. You don't have a boyfriend so why are you looking for a place to get married this winter."

"Because I like to dream?"

"Marinette, Ladybug, Dupain-Cheng, tell me now or so help me God, I will hurt you."

Marinette sighed and turned to face her friend.

"I'm kind of engaged." She said softly.

"Kind of? How can you be kind of?"

"We made a deal when we were eighteen, and now we are ... going ...through ... with ... it."

Alya looked at Marinette like she'd gone crazy.

"A deal? A deal with whom?"

Covering her mouth Marinette muffled out the name of her betrothed, before heading back to the kitchen. This time though, Alya was on her tail.

"Chat? You made a deal to marry Chat? You two are getting married?" She had so many questions for her shorter friend, she had no idea where to start.

"Yes, Chat and I made a deal and both decided we want to go through with it."

"So that's why you haven't been dating. You've been waiting for him." Marinette nodded a smile taking place on her lips. "Look at your face, you're completely smitten."

"I'm smitten with a kitten," she laughed as she looked at Alya. Her friend was happy for her, it was obvious, but this was so unexpected. "You need to keep it a secret though Alya, no one and I mean no one can know that Marinette Dupain-Cheng is getting married."

"What was the proposal like?"

Marinette sighed as she remembered the candles, the rose petals, the roses and, of course, the rings.

"Perfect, and very Chat."

"And who is he?"

Marinette scratched her head.

"You still don't know, do you? Marinette, I've known you're Ladybug for years. It's about time he does too," Alya was exasperated. These two were going to be the death of her.

"We're revealing ourselves at the altar. You know, remove the veil, and see your wife to be."

"That's equally stupid and cute. I promise no one will know Marinette is getting married, as long as I get to see the ring."

Marinette pulled the necklace chain freeing the ring from under her tee.

"It's amazing, he must have some money."

"I think he might be rich," Marinette answered.

Alya swept her friend into a hug, this was the best news she'd heard in ages. Marinette deserved to be happy, as did Chat Noir, and it was even better that they'd found their happiness together. LadyNoir was sailing away into the sunset and Alya couldn't stop smiling..

"I better go," Marinette said, as she began to pack away her things and walk towards the door. "Don't forget you need to meet us for patrol on Friday." Alya nodded, following her friend to the door. "Oh, and Alya, act surprised."

"Thank you all for coming, we hope we haven't caused too many problems dragging you all out this evening." Chat Noir stood in front of the temporary heroes with his fiancée by his side. The excitement was overwhelming, he could finally tell someone about his engagement. He knew Nino would want to know more so they had already arranged to go back to his apartment later, Nino oblivious to the reason why.

Ladybug looked around at her friends infront of her. Apart from Alya, she was still an unknown person. What made it worse, these were her best friends and she couldn't let them know Marinette was in love and engaged. Sometimes the whole secret identity thing sucked.

She thought about the possibilities of them all coming to the wedding, but there was no way they could leave Paris completely unguarded. They'd learned the hard way what could happen, and even with Max and Kalkki's powers there was no way she was putting them all at risk.

They were onto their third villain; the butterfly Miraculous still making its rounds to unstable individuals. Gabriel Agreste had been tame compared with his two following anti-social butterflies. Lila, butterfly two, slightly more intense, but they quickly shut her down and now Papillon. Whomever this one was held some strength and determination. They had to pull the team together more permanently to keep on top of it all; specific patrol times were set with areas to defend for each hero. Ladybug and Chat Noir stayed as a duo and went wherever they were most needed.

"Myself and Chat have some news we would like to share with you all," Ladybug stated before Chat joined in.

"But it stays between us. We are only sharing the information as we believe you should all know."

Chat grabbed Ladybug's hand, causing Rose to squeal like the piglet she is currently dressed as, and jump up and down.

"Are you two finally together?" Her eyes had grown wide, full of love and excitement.

"We are," Ladybug said, "so much so, that we're getting married."

A pin could have dropped. The stillness, the shocked faces and the heavy breathing was actually quite comical. Ladybug looked over at Rena Rouge, who was playing it beautifully, whereas her boyfriend looked like he'd been thrown out of a plane without a parachute.

"Married? Like to be together forever?" Nino, currently a giant turtle, was the first to question the heroes, looking towards his friend in complete bewilderment. Why hadn't Chat told him anything about this?

"Do you even know each other's identities?" Viperion followed, before Pigella commented on how romantic it was, everyone started to voice their own opinions, echoing over the Parisian rooftops. Ladybug spoke up trying to regain order.

"Everyone please!"

"We know what we're doing guys, and I know you might think it's insane, but we're both really happy about it. We're in love." Chat said, holding hands with a smiling Ladybug.

"They are made for each other." Ryuko said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"She's not wrong." Rena commented.

Ladybug mouthed a thank you to both the girls before turning back to the others.

"We're hoping for a winter wedding, and would love to invite you all to join. However, we have two problems. One, if Papillon is still going strong we'll need some of you to stay to watch over Paris and keep up the patrols, and two -" Chat took a deep breath, "it'll mean you'll finally find out our identities putting yourself and your families in danger."

"Why would it cause us any issues? We knew the risks when we took on the Miraculous'" Carapace indicated all the heroes, each agreeing with a nod.

"Perhaps us newer heroes could stay?" Mylene spoke up. "It's only fair. You have all known each other longer. You all deserve to be there."

As Ivan, Nathaniel, Marc, Juleka, and Rose agreed, Ladybug couldn't help but shift uncomfortably, which didn't go unnoticed by her partner.

"Can't Pegasus transport us if we're needed?" King Monkey asked.

"We've all got akuma alerts on our phones." Vespira said, Pegasus nodding in agreement.

The heroes began to discuss ideas of how they could all attend such an important and momentous occasion.

"You ok?" He whispered in Ladybug's ear. She nodded in response, signalling Chat to go and talk to Viperion and Carapace.

Ladybug couldn't help but feel terrible. They were all her friends and had been for years. They deserved to be there with her. If only they could take Papillon down and maybe, just maybe, she could have her dream wedding with all her friends and family ... in the Maldives.

"I'm happy for you, Bug." Alix, dressed her as altar ego, came and swung an arm around Marinette's waist and pulled her towards herself. "You won't regret it."

Giving Ladybug a quick wink, she said goodbye to the other heroes and headed off into the night.

"We better be going too." Marc said, signalling to Nathaniel.

"Us too," mumbled Juleka, starting a chain of events.

"If everyone heads off, I'll come and collect your Miraculous'," Ladybug gave Chat a quick kiss before swinging off the rooftop, each hero following their leader.

Chat looked out over the horizon, love sick for the girl that had just left.

"You have got to be kidding!" Nino came over and smacked Chat round the back of the head. He hadn't realised that the turtle hero had remained.

"What the hell man?"

"What the hell to you! Did you not think to tell me you were engaged?"

Chat looked at Nino, not knowing where to start.

"I forgot?" He shrugged, causing Nino's face to turn villainous. "Let's go to yours and I promise to tell you everything."
