"I've had an idea."

"I hope it didn't hurt too much."

Marinette and Adrien were sitting on top of the Eiffel Tower during one of their regular patrols, suited and booted in their full superhero attire. The evening had been calm; no akumas, no trouble, just two almost adults discussing life, love and the future of their partnership. At eighteen years old, their lives as superheroes had overtaken every other aspect.

"Ouch! You do realise I'm actually incredibly smart, right? I'm about to graduate top of my class in pretty much every subject."

"Pretty much?" Ladybug questioned her overly confident friend.

"I may have flunked home economics, but I plan to have a wonderful Lady to take care of all my homely needs." Chat wiggled his eyebrows at Ladybug causing her to burst out laughing.

"You do realise that we don't live in medieval times, mon Chaton? Whoever marries you will be a wife, not a wench." She shoved her shoulder into his as he covered his eyes in mortification.

"That's really not what I meant." He squealed, peering between his fingers at Ladybug. She continued to laugh, prying his fingers and hands away from his eyes.

"Ok, I'm listening. Hit me with your marvellous idea, oh great one." Ladybug held onto his hands and looked into his eyes, her own still dancing with humour.

"Hear me out before you write it off as just another of Chat Noir's crazy ideas."

Her eyebrows raised in question, she wasn't sure if she'd like this, but in respect to her partner she would listen to him anyway.

Over the past few months, she'd found herself more comfortable with her kitty and not just in a purely platonic way. She enjoyed the time she spent with him, and, in honesty, she wouldn't mind if the flirting came back ... if he ever decided to bring it back, that is.

It had been months since he'd properly flirted with her, she'd questioned whether he'd found himself a girlfriend in his civilian life, always to a riddle of an answer. For once, Chat didn't want to reveal too much about his life.

"Here it is. What age did you dream of getting married?"

"Random, but ok. Um ... I always wanted to start a family by the time I was twenty-five. I would like three kids, and not be too old for the sleepless nights." Ladybug answered truthfully, thinking about her possible lifetime of events. "So I'd probably like to be married by the time I'm twenty-three, just so we get time for coupley things before our life is overtaken with children."

Chat nodded in understanding. That sounded reasonable, it followed his life plan as well. More proof that they were made for each other.

"I know we both struggle with holding down a relationship, and obviously if villains are still around we're never going to be able to commit, so how about we commit to each other? If neither of us are in a relationship by the time we're twenty-two we marry each other. What do you think?"

Chat cringed as he waited for Ladybug's answer. He'd thought long and hard about this, it helped him come up with a deadline for exactly how long he'd pursue his Lady. He knew he'd either get closure, or the life he always dreamed of, with the girl he always dreamed of. A winning situation if you asked him. He just needed for her to agree.

Ladybug considered the pros and cons of Chat's request. She knew it would be very unlikely to hold down a relationship, and she loved her partner an insane amount. Perhaps this idea was reasonable, perhaps they could find some kind of happiness with each other.

"Ok." She sighed out.

"Ok? As in?" He questioned, not wanting to get too excited too quickly.

"If we're not in relationships by the time we're twenty-two, I'd be honoured to be your wife, on one condition."

Chat could have stood up and danced for joy. She agreed. There was hope for the two of them after all.

"What's the condition, Bugaboo?"

"We reveal ourselves on the wedding day."

Four years later

"Pound it."

The two heroes collided their fists together as they celebrated their nine year winning streak. Of course, it was Mr Pigeon who claimed the anniversary victory much to the hero's delight.

"Ladybug, Chat Noir, I must apologise again-"

"Hold it there, Mr Ramier," Chat stopped the pigeon man before he became an emotional wreck again. "It happens, don't worry about it. It's Papillon who should be sorry for taking advantage of you."

"Here." Ladybug had made her way over, pulling something from her yo-yo. "Please don't lose this one, it's your twenty fifth charm." She hands over another akuma repellent and watches as he places it next to his bird call.

The man nodded before wandering off, back to his pigeons. Chat smiled as he watched the man leave, more important things weighing on his mind. Today was the day. The agreed date of their agreement. His mind began to race with all the possibilities of what might happen.

Turning down many women had been painful for Adrien, especially when one of his best friends asked him out three years previously, but he had to stay single. He had to have a chance to be with his Lady.

After the deal with Chat Noir, Marinette gave herself one last chance to be with Adrien. If he said yes, great! They would start a relationship that would surely rival fairytales. If not, she would stay single in hopes of being with Chat. There were only two guys for the position, and, to be honest, she loved them equally.

The day Adrien turned her down was bittersweet. He was so gentle with her, telling her again about the girl he was in love with. So that was it. Her decision was made for her. She cried that night for the last time over Adrien Agreste, spending the remaining years as a close friend to him as she grew closer to her kitty.

Chat finally landed on the rooftop they'd planned to meet on, the same one they made the deal four years previously. He was shaking with excitement.

"Hey pretty kitty." Chat turned around and looked at the amazing woman behind him. If he thought she was beautiful in her youth then he had no idea what to call her in her adulthood. She was striking and gorgeous, and every guys dream, after all she was voted Paris' Sexiest Woman every year since she hit eighteen.

"Hey yourself," his smile stretched the length of his face. "Some great moves today, again, bug. You've been practising?" He moved his way closer to her, being pulled like a sailor to a siren. She was dazzling.

"There's a guy at work who's face I've taped to a punch bag. Really helps me get through the day."

As much as she loved her job, she couldn't help but despise her boss. Gabriel Agreste was definitely an acquired taste, and not hers. She was just glad Adrien was there or she'd have gone insane by now.

"Remind me never to piss you off," he stated.

She laughed before pulling him into a hug.

"I've missed you." She said, remaining in his tight embrace. She felt safe here, and warm.

"I've missed you more:" he pulled back and smiled at her.

Both knowing the statement meant more than said, after all they'd only seen each other the day before.

"It's the day." She whispered quietly, for his ears only. Lips pressed close to his ear.

"Yes it is, and I know my answer:"

"I know mine too."

They looked at each other trying to figure it out from the look in their eyes. Neither knowing who should make a move first. After a couple of minutes Chat took the prerogative and bent down on one knee. He didn't have a ring yet, but if she said yes, she'd have the best ring his money could buy.

"Ladybug, I am twenty-two, I am single and I want to make you mine. We made a deal when we were eighteen, and, if you'll have me, I'll be the most loyal kitty you've ever known. I love you and have loved you for many, many, many years and would be honoured if you'd be my wife. So what do you say, Bugaboo? Ready to take in a stray?"

Ladybug looked down at the male in front of her, who she was hopelessly in love with and had been for the past three years. Purposely keeping herself single in hopes for this day. Grabbing hold of his bell, she pulled him onto his feet before bringing his face to hers. As their lips met, a ray of sunshine seemed to fall on them like a spotlight. Highlighting the magnitude of what was about to happen.

Only one word was left to say ...

"Yes."
