Milk

"I don't know whether I should feel shocked, angry or just stumped!" Nino was pacing his room as Adrien sat on the edge of his bed. "You're engaged to a girl you don't know!"

"We've been partners for nine years, I know her!"

"Adrien, buddy, it could be Chloe or Lila, you know the quantum masking stops you from remembering features so you have no idea what she looks like!" Nino sat on his computer chair opposite Adrien and stared at him wide eyed.

"It's not about looks, Nino, it's deeper than that. She's my other half. You know, yin and yang."

"He's right, master Nino." Wayzz had finished recharging and had come over to join in the conversation. "The bug and cat only work well together if they are made for each other."

"See!" Adrien stated as Plagg came to join too.

"But that doesn't mean they always need to be together romantically. Takes a lot of balls for my cats to get with their bugs. They usually see them as unreachable." Plagg placed himself on Nino's pillow snuggling in for the evening.

"You better not make that pillow smell of cheese again. Alya threw up last time she was round because of the smell. I had to try and explain it."

Adrien started laughing.

"So that's why she questioned if we went to a cheese store, when we went out last week?"

"What did you tell her?" Nino asked.

"I just said yes. Thought it would be an easier answer." Adrien said, throwing Plagg another piece of Camembert, much to Nino's disgust.

"She thinks I'm a cheese and wine guy now, and I hate the stuff. Anyway, stop changing the subject. You and LB, how?"

Adrien filled Nino in on the deal they made when they were eighteen, and the fact both had remained single because of the deal.

"Why didn't you just date like normal people if you liked each other that much?" Nino questioned.

"We didn't know." Adrien replied.

"You are hopeless. You could have been dating for years now, maybe even know her identity already?" Nino was exhausted by Adrien and his love life. It was a shame someone so attractive could be so socially inept. "And what about Marinette?"

Nino knew about Marinette's confession three years ago, but he also knew about the growing feelings Adrien had gained for the designer over the past year. Since Marinette had been working at Gabriel, Adrien had seen a different side to her, one he was growing to really like.

"Maybe if LB had said no I would have asked Mari on a date, but I've been waiting for Ladybug for years. I've loved her for almost a decade, man."

Nino looked at his romantic friend and nodded. It was understandable, but something in Nino's heart couldn't help feeling that Adrien would be just as happy with Marinette as he would be with Ladybug. It was impossible to not feel the electricity coming from them when they spent time together.

"I'm here to support you dude, through anything, just next time when you've got big news like that, please give me a heads up. I almost had a heart attack."

Adrien laughed and placed his hand out for his and Nino's 'secret handshake', the same they've had since they were thirteen.

A shrill alarm echoed around the room, signalling an akuma attack was taking place. Adrien grabbed his phone to check the location. It was a personal call from The Mayor's Office. He wondered what Chloè had done this time.

"I've gotta go, I have a hot date with a bug."

Adrien waved as he called on his transformation. Nino grabbed his phone ready to control his girlfriend's actions and the need of chasing akumas.

"Oh, and one more thing," Adrien's voice stopped Nino at his doorway, "will you be my best man?"

"Evening. What's the dealio, bugio?"

Ladybug glared at her fiancé.

"Really?" She responded.

"Just think, you're going to be stuck with this for the rest of your life."

She looked him over.

"Can I change my mind?"

He laughed before responding to her.

"For the right amount of milk." With a wink he was off to find Chloe.

Extending his staff he made his way up to the top floor of the Bourgeois hotel, and Chloe's penthouse. Since she turned twenty, Chloe had been taking over the family business of running for Mayor, and surprisingly every year she'd won, everyone was quite sure money had little to do with it. Cue the eye rolls.

Within seconds Ladybug was at his side and they made their way into Chloe's room. The blonde was currently bossing Sabrina around, whilst on the phone to someone else. Only Chloe could multitask telling two people what to do whilst an akuma was after her.

"What do you two want? Here to replace me again?" Chloe spat out, pulling her phone away from her ear.

"It's been eight years Chloe, get over it." Ladybug made her way over to Sabrina to try and get an idea of what Chloe had done this time.

"Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous." She placed the phone back to her ear and began to talk aggressively to the person on the other end. Chat winced, glad that he was no longer the one on the other end of Chloe's scathing calls.

After their falling out, around the same time Chloe was no longer called on for Queen Bee duties, the two old friends had made amends, but not without Adrien setting clear ground rules.

"She wants to restrict the use of rollerblades around the Trocadéro." Sabrina exclaimed, "Apparently a lot of people aren't happy about that."

Ladybug could understand why. Herself, as a young teen, spent a lot of time there with her friends. Kim and Alix were always trying to prove something to each other.

A sudden sound was heard out in the hall behind Chloe's door, the sound of wheels scraping on the wooden floor, alerting everyone in the room that they were about to be attacked.

"Chloe, hide." Chat grabbed Chloe and threw her, not so delicately, into the closet, Sabrina running to follow slightly behind.

The door flew open and the heroes prepared for their next battle. Ladybug and Chat Noir take their stance ready to attack. Yo-yo and baton in hands, only to see the 'Akuma' and place their weapons back into their holders.

"Alix!" They both say with an exasperated sigh.

There, standing in front of them, was not other than Alix Kubdel dressed in a mismatch of clothing and bright yellow face paint. Not akumatised and not a threat.

"Oh boy! I didn't think you'd come and protect her."

"Alix, you can't fake akumas!" Ladybug scalded her friend.

"I just hate that she's gotten away with doing something so malicious again. I thought I'd just scare her enough so she'd revoke the order."

Ladybug shook her head, as Chat giggled like a schoolgirl next to her. His partner looked over at him eyebrows raised.

"Seriously, tell me how much milk and I'll get it for you."

Chat's ears flattened against his head. Eyes wide and lips pouted, he looked at his fiancée.

"You want to get rid of me already? We've only been engaged for three weeks."

Ladybug slapped the palm of her hand to her forehead and looked between Chat, Alix and the closet.

"Alix, transform and go home, we don't need another akuma scare. I'm warning you, if you do that again I'm going to take Fluff away from you for a month." The bunny kwami stuck his head out of Alix's jacket looking flabbergasted.

"You wouldn't!" He said.

"Try me." She replied. "Chat, go and get Chloe and Sabrina out of the closet."

The two heroes moved in tandem to complete the jobs instructed by their leader. Alix, as Bunnyx, jumped out the window extending her umbrella to make her way home.

"I see Mary Poppins was here." Chloe had been released from the closet, and had made her way over to Ladybug.

"Chloe, you need to consider your actions. You might not be getting akumatised anymore but you're making it a weekly run of getting someone else caught." Ladybug said.

"I can't help their lack of control! Just because you two are struggling with this new Papillon, doesn't mean the rest of us should be looking out for you. You are meant to be the heroes."

Ladybug went to step forward only to have Chat place an arm out stopping her.

"Just be aware of your actions, Chloe." Chat said, turning his Lady by her shoulders and walking her out onto the balcony.

"I can't stand that girl! I thought I'd be able to tolerate her more now we're older but she just hasn't changed. If anything she's gotten worse!"

Chat smirked over at Ladybug, this was too good an opportunity to miss.

"So you'll be mad that I've invited her to our wedding?"

"You did what!" Ladybug screeched, only to be met by Chat laughing hysterically.

"Only joking, Bugaboo. But you should see your face."

Grabbing him by the ear she pulled him close.

"Now listen, cat," her words spoke with venom, "You are going to take me to the rooftop bar and make this up to me!"

"A rosé wine and a make out? I can handle that." He cupped his hands under his chin, looking adorable. She had to remind herself that she was angry with him or she would have caved in to his demands.

"Wine, yes! Making out? Are you kidding me?" He burst out laughing again, and within ten seconds she was laughing too.

"Fine!" She grabbed her yo-yo and started to swing it to the top of the hotel, "let's go and get this kitty some milk, it's been a long evening."

"I thought you'd never ask."
