Cuddles
It was five days until they left for the wedding of the year and there was still someone who hadn't been told or invited. Gabriel Agreste.
Adrien stood outside his fathers office door and steadied himself, not only was he about to tell his father he was engaged and going to be married in less than a week, but also that it was to his leading designer. Gabriel had a strict professional etiquette clause in his contract, one section being inter office relationships. Adrien knew his own contract was slightly different (as son of the boss), and he hoped for the best.
Knocking the door, his fathers harsh cold voice sounded out, inviting him into the lion's den. Pushing the door open, Adrien met with Nathalie's eyes first. The look on her face was as blank as ever, giving nothing away. Adrien had already given her the heads up that it was something to do with one of the employees. Whether they'd guessed it was to do with himself and Marinette he didn't know? And to be honest neither of them had really played down their relationship.
"Adrien, sit down."
Gabriel was sitting at his desk looking over designs Adrien recognised as Marinette's as Nathalie moved to stand behind his chair.
"Now, I have been briefed by Nathalie that this is about a member of my design team. Have you been assaulted?"
Adrien flinched.
"What? No!" He didn't know how Nathalie decided that was what he needed to talk to Gabriel about but he was quite alarmed with it. Why would he think that?
"Good. You have no idea how many models have that issue with designers once they get to your age."
Adrien was perplexed, he'd heard stories but he knew no one would be stupid enough to mess with the son of their boss. It wouldn't be worth their jobs, or careers in fashion.
"I can honestly say there's been nothing like that."
"Good, I'm glad to hear it." Gabriel responded, "So what did you need to talk to me about so urgently?"
Here it goes. Adrien took a deep breath and just let it out. He was going to lay everything out on the table and be damned if Gabriel tried to stop him.
"I'm getting married next week."
There, done! Wound ... band aid ... ripped off.
"Excuse me." Nathalie choked out next to Gabriel. Surprisingly his father didn't even flinch.
"I'm getting married next week. I've been engaged for three months and will be moving out of the mansion in the next couple of weeks."
"That's certainly a lot to take in, Adrien." Gabriel noted.
"I've been in love with her since I was thirteen, I asked her and she said yes. We want to get married as soon as possible, so we've booked a chapel in the Maldives and will be there for a week."
Gabriel looked at his son before turning to Nathalie. His heart was thundering in his chest. It had been years since he and his father had been in a disagreement, but he would never let his father take Marinette away from him.
"I suppose that is why Mlle. Dupain-Cheng has requested a week's long vacation. She will be attending your wedding, will she not?."
"Yes, Sir," he answered his father.
"And there's me and Nathalie thinking you'd finally had some sense and asked her out on a date. I guess she was heartbroken when she found out. I can't believe after all these years you still never accepted her." Gabriel shook his head and threaded his fingers together placing them on his desk.
What had just happened? Had Gabriel just hinted to Adrien he wanted him to be with Marinette? He knew Marinette loved him? Adrien realised he must have been the only person in Paris that didn't know. Well his cold hearted father may have been the reason for that, he only saw neglect as love.
"But you have a 'no internal dating' policy."
"For employees who meet at work. I'm quite sure you and Mlle Dupain-Cheng have been friends for years. That trumps the policy. Plus she's a lovely girl, she'd be the perfect girlfriend."
Adrien relaxed into his seat and looked at Nathalie and Gabriel in complete bewilderment. What ... the ... hell?
"It's a good job she's the bride then."
Now it was Nathalie and Gabriel's turn to look shocked.
"You mean you finally got together?" Nathalie couldn't help the excited expression on her face. It seems both older adults liked Marinette an impressive amount.
"We have. We will be having a private wedding, but I would - I mean we would love you both to be at the celebrations once we return home." Adrien hadn't discussed this with Marinette, however they were really trying to push past everything that had happened. It was one of the most impressive character traits of his fiancée. She was far too good for this planet.
"Of course we'll be there," Gabriel said, "I'm happy for you. She's always shown such moxie, she's a good match for you."
Adrien couldn't help but smile.
"She's the best. Well, I best leave you to it. Thank you for your time."
Adrien stood from his chair and began to make his way to the door when Gabriel stopped him.
"Adrien, just remember there is a clear difference between work and home, please make sure the right thing is done in the right place."
Adrien's face flamed, he swore steam was raising out the top of his head. Had his father actually implied they might? He couldn't even think about it. They hadn't even spoken about that with each other yet, yes they loved kissing and making out, but their relationship was based on something more than a physical level, he was mortified.
Making his way out he quickly headed out the building and looked for an alleyway, he had somewhere to be.
"Why are you so hot all of a sudden?" Plagg appeared out of Adrien's jacket pocket and of course had to bring attention to how uncomfortable he was.
"Well, I am a model." Adrien gave Plagg a wink, completely avoiding the subject.
"Every year with you gets more and more insufferable."
"I know," Adrien replied, "but don't deny you love me." He grabbed the small kwami and hugged him to his face. Plagg fighting every minute with little effort. It was true he did love Adrien.
"Plagg, we need to go. Claws out."
Once transformed into Chat Noir, Adrien bounded onto the roof tops via extendable baton and began to run. He loved this feeling of wind in his hair, and he loved it even more when he wound up in the arms of his Lady.
Seeing the red spots come closer, he opened his arms to accept her into them. Wrapping around her tightly he lifted her from the floor and spun her around. She giggled in his ear, pressing kisses to the flesh she could meet on his neck.
"Someone's happy." Ladybug smiled up at her soon to be husband, he was radiant and she couldn't help laughing as she continued to think about his teenage perfume ad.
"As are you by the looks of it." She stretched up on her toes meeting her lips to his, before wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I was just thinking you were radiant, carefree and-"
"Don't finish that."
She started to laugh, pulling him down to her again and kissing him firmly on the lips. They continued to cuddle and kiss as the other heroes began to arrive around them. Ladybug had already handed out the Miraculous earlier that day, wanting to have these few minutes alone with her Chaton. Adrien still hadn't moved in with her, plus with her leg she'd been working from home more than usual, so these moments were everything.
"Can't we go home and cuddle." Chat rested his forehead on Ladybug's, revelling in the few minutes they had before their bubble burst.
"As soon as this is over Minou, we will kiss and cuddle as much as you want. We can even watch 'High School Musical two'," she wiggled her eyebrows at him causing the beautiful smile she adored to light up his face.
"Do we get to duet 'Everyday'?" he asked.
"As you wish minou." She stretched up again and pressed a kiss to his lips, she couldn't imagine ever getting bored of this and neither could he.
"Get a room!" They broke apart and looked around. Everyone was here, and Rena was standing smiling at the two. Of course, Marinette had told Alya everything and the two fangirled together about the fact that Marinette was finally marrying Adrien. The three kids and the hamster had never been closer.
The heroes laughed and moved to face their teammates, their friends.
"Why are we here Catbug?" Bunnyx smiled at the two and dropped them a wink; they'd already arranged to go with Alix the following day to pick up all the legal documents for their wedding. Even though they knew who each other were they were still having Alix perform the ceremony, and the bunny hero couldn't be more thrilled.
"Somethings changed here." Viperion said, wrapping his arm around Vespira. "You two are acting differently with each other."
"Us? No way! This is how we always act." Chat stretched up to scratch the back of his neck.
"We're just very excited." Ladybug announced. "Anyway the reason we have called you here - well I've called you here, is to let you know the Miraculous' are now yours until we're back from the wedding. I trust you all to look after the jewels and the kwami's, keeping them cared for and well fed."
"But most of all," Chat said, "keep them out of sight. Make sure you are transformed before you get to the airport, and unless you know for certain who the other person is, keep transformed in public spaces."
"I'm so glad you can all come and join us," Ladybug added.
"That's all thanks to your epic take down, LB. It'll go down as the best mistake ever." Kim laughed out loud, finger gunning the hero causing a soft blush to take over her face.
Chat pulled her into his side and placed his lips against her forehead, she was so cute when she blushed.
"All in a hero's day at work," she said. Luckily the news outlets never got hold of the fact she was high on painkillers, therefore she'd been celebrated as the greatest hero to exist. The girl who took down a hero without a fight. No one had corrected them.
"For the wedding we want you to all come out of transformation, allowing the kwami's to take part too. After all, they are a big part of all our lives and it's what brought me and M'Lady today." Chat Noir looked down at his fiancée looking like he was holding the most treasured jewels, and technically he was.
"Have a good evening everyone and we'll see you at the airport."
Everyone started saying their goodbyes as Rena walked over to the happy couple.
"I'm really happy for you two, you know. It's been a long time coming but it's perfect now, you're both perfect."
Ladybug wrapped her arms around Rena.
"Thank you for everything."
The girls exchanged kisses, before Rena left Ladybug and Chat Noir alone once more.
"So, Chaton, cuddles and High School Musical?" She asked.
"Cuddles and High School Musical, it is! Race you home!" He shouted as he set off across the rooftops.
Home - with Chat Noir ... nothing had ever sounded so sweet.
