Admiration

"Alya? I've got a big favour to ask ..."

Marinette sat down next to Adrien, wine glass in hand, and tucked her feet underneath herself.

"Cheers." He held his glass up towards his friend and chinked them together.

Nino and Alya, loaded with bowls, came and sat on the opposite two seater couch. Another evening, another film night. After taking a sip of her wine, Marinette placed her glass onto the table and swapped it for her sketchbook.

"Mari, are those what I think they are?" Alya leaned forward towards her friend.

"They are indeed." The red head stood up and made her way over to sit next to her friend, squashing her closer to Adrien.

"Alya, watch out. I don't think Adrien wants me on his lap." The blonde laughed as he moved over, freeing up more space for Marinette to be comfortable.

"I don't mind. It's not like you're heavy at all." Marinette smiled at him. Three years ago she would have had a heart attack at a comment like that, instead she gave him a wink and placed a hand on his thigh.

"We'll try it sometime then, hot stuff." A strawberry red graced the apples of his cheeks and she couldn't help adding a quick wink before opening her sketchbook.

"I've been thinking about doing some commissions for wedding dresses, and Alya really wants to have a look."

"That's great." Nino and Adrien both chimed.

"I'm just not overly sure what kind people would be interested in buying them." Marinette shrugged and handed the pad to Alya who began to flick through.

"I know," said Alya, "how about we try and match dresses to me and Marinette? That could be a fun, right?" 'Operation: the right dress' had begun.

Adrien suddenly shot up from his chair and made his way behind Alya to look over her shoulder.

"I'm game, who should we do first?"

"Marinette." Alya said.

Adrien began to look through the many, many, many, many sketches of wedding dresses. Aline, mermaid, ball gown, Princess, long, short, lacy, sparkly, plain, silk, satin; ten's up on ten's of designs.

"I really admire you, Marinette," he said, "you have such a wonderful talent."

He continued to look through before stopping at a design which made him feel weak at the knees, luckily he was sitting down. He handed the book back to Marinette with a smile on his face.

"This one's yours."

Chat Noir was running late. Really late. He'd gotten caught up in the game of wedding dresses with his friends and after deciding on the perfect wedding dresses for Marinette and Alya, the girls had decided on ones for the guys. Slight alcohol absorption could be a reason for the fun.

He landed on their usual rooftop, twenty minutes late. Chat placed his baton to his ear and tried to call her.

"Come on, answer your phone." Impatiently, he began to pace the rooftop, calling again every time the ringing switched to voicemail.

"Sorry." As he tried for the sixth time something hit him hard on the back. Looking behind him, he saw it was a five foot three female in red with black spots.

"Oh, thank God." Chat wrapped his arms around her and gave her a squeeze. She wrapped her own around his waist and buried her head into his chest.

"Sorry I'm late, minou. I was with some friends and lost track of time."

"Sounds like you were having fun." He said, a smile taking over his face. He was so glad she wasn't annoyed with him for being late. One thing Ladybug liked was punctuality, well for the past couple of years at least. Before that she was rarely ever on time herself, a running joke between the two.

"They're a blast! I can't wait for you to meet them, you'll fit in so well and they'll love you."

"You'll fit perfectly with mine too." Chat held her hand and led her over to 'their spot', sitting down and wrapping an arm around her waist pulling her close to his side. He knew she'd be so welcomed, he was sure she'd become best buds with Marinette too, after all his two girls were so similar.

They looked out over Paris in silence, fully immersed in the warmth of each other and the beauty of the city.

"I'm sorry about last night." Ladybug's voice was quiet, he could tell she was worried about bringing it up.

Chat turned his head down to look into her eyes, waiting for her to continue.

"I should have reacted more heroically and not had a nervous breakdown about something that tends to happen regularly. I know if I focus and get the job done, you'll be back with me at some point. It's just this new villain, they're so strong. What if I make a mistake and I don't get you back? It's taken me years to find a love like yours, I don't want to ever lose it. You're my partner, my best friend, my everything."

Chat pulled his eyes away from his fiancée and looked back out over Paris. He could see the tears running down her cheeks, glistening in the spotlights from the Eiffel Tower and his heart was breaking. He couldn't continue looking at them, knowing he would break too.

"You know what? I have so much admiration for you. I'm just a human car shield, you're the one who has to pull themselves together and finish the fight. It takes a lot to do what you do, you have so much strength. You're one hell of a catch."

Ladybug placed her head on her partner's shoulder, the corners of her mouth turning upwards. Slowly, she took his hand into her own, lifting it to her lips and placing a soft kiss on his gloved paw.

"I couldn't do this without you and you know that, right? It's Ladybug and Chat Noir, remember, Ladybug doesn't sound right on its own."

"What about Ladybug and Rena Rouge?"

Ladybug groaned and moved away from him. He turned with her and placed a soft and delicate kiss to her forehead, she closed her eyes in bliss. These moments between them were so special. They spent so much time in a fast paced life, fighting and protecting, that being able to relax and comfort each other meant everything.

"Can you remember about eight years ago, when Rena first gained her Miraculous permanently?"

"Can I remember? You were so pissed at me, I thought you were going to leave me."

"I'm not going to lie, Bug, it was tempting at the time," he said, removing her head from his shoulder and turning to face her. "It had always been me and you, us against the world, I couldn't stand that there could be someone to come in and replace me that easily."

"Is that why you freaked when I told you about my boyfriend?" She teased.

"To be fair, he was your ex by the time you filled me in on it, but yes that too." He took her dainty hands in his strong wide masculine ones and began to play with them. "We've always had communication issues, which thankfully we are beginning to rectify, but even though I was being an ass, you carried on. You knew it was about more than us, that it was something bigger and greater, so even when I was being an A-Class idiot, you carried on."

"It broke my heart when you finally told me about your feelings, Chat. I only work well and complete the job when you're near me. I need your strength to add to my own."

"I know M'Lady, but I just wanted to be filled in. I didn't care about her joining the team, I just hated that she knew more than me. That she was there for you when I wanted to be. I didn't know you were struggling so much."

She leaned forward and placed her lips against his, each closing their eyes and enjoying the feeling of love between them.

"Then you told me about Chat Blanc and I understood everything. I couldn't believe you carried this around on your shoulders for so long, knowing such a horrible future could be in store." He saw her eyes glistening again, they didn't bring Chat Blanc up too much, it was a sore spot for her. He knew she still had nightmares, and wished so much he could comfort her.

"I admire you too, you know. You risk your life, literally time and time again for me, confident that I will bring you back. The trust you have in me is such an important part of what makes me the hero I am."

"I will always be here for you, I love you."

"I love you too."

In contrast to their previous kiss, this one was full of passion and desire. Lips against lips, hearts joining hearts. Finally pulling away, Ladybug let out a satisfactory sigh and Chat stroked down her face with the back of his hand, marvelling at the beauty before him. He took her chin in his hand, lifting it and placing one last kiss on her mouth,

"What are you up to tomorrow?" She asked

"You've forgotten, haven't you."

Ladybug's eyes flew open, yes she had forgotten. The world premiere of the new Ladybug and Chat Noir movie.

"Oh minou, do we have to go? It has nothing to do with us."

Chat laughed, rearranging himself and pulling her into his body.

"It has everything to do with us, and yes we do have to go. Remember the whole 'let people know they're safe and can live normal' speech you gave us all. We're going, I think Viperion and Ryuko are coming too, aren't they? We can't leave them alone." Chat explained.

"We could have a night of making out instead, and they can take one for the team. It's their first movie, let them have the fame we've already got enough." She walked her fingers up his chest causing a low growl to emit from him.

She didn't know half of it.

"It's our film, Bug. We need to be there."

"Fine, but I'm telling you, there's going to be an attack, there's always an attack at the premieres."

"Then we'll be ready, Bugaboo. We'll be ready."
