Chapter Two
A soft knocking on my box awoke me from my sleep, opening it slowly I looked at the four restless animatronics who seemed to have a large urge to run about.
"Oh alright I'm coming," I chuckled, floating out of my box I hovered after the large but childish animatronics as they almost crushed each other as they ran out the door and into the large forest around us. James had always like the isolation from humanity which was something we could agree on, flying up into a tree I leant against the trunk as I sat on a branch to examine the wound that dastardly blade had given me. My heart lurched when I noticed a rib looking growth forming out of it, using a little more of my powers I hid the growth before heading down to join the fun. The land at this time of year was white and fresh, winter was a glorious time of year and I loved it as such. Throwing snowballs at the others I dodged behind trees as I hovered above the snow to keep myself from sinking in it, because of my pin-like legs I sank all the way into the snow if I dare stand on it. I shivered in pure bliss from the cold, after being trapped in a stuffy box for fifty years this was the best day ever. Movement to my right distracted me, turning my head I examined the area which caused the others to stop their game and look. The slightest twitch of my finger and they all made their way back into the lodge, with a final look around I headed in after them as James locked the door behind us. Whatever was out there I hadn't sensed until I saw a glimpse of it which meant it had some source of power, with Nightmare and Springtrap out there somewhere I couldn't risk the safety of my friends.
"You guys really do make a lot of noise when you play games don't you?" A deep voice chuckled behind us, spinning around I launched at the figure and pulled them into a tight hug.
"SHADOW YOU ASSHOLE I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!" I cried out in joy and slight annoyance, the rest of the gang joined in the group hug which earned a chuckle from Shadow Freddy.
"Aww did you miss me that much?" Shadow Freddy chuckled as we all gave him space, the purple bears white eyes glistened with amusement.
"You jerk Shadow, where have you been the past fifty years?" I growled cheekily, his eyes hinted fear but he pushed it away.
"Making sure you loud mouths don't get found," Shadow Freddy teased, I shook my head with a smile but when no one was looking I gestured for him to follow me outside. We walked for a bit or well he walked and I hovered before we came to a nice open clearing and sat down on a cold but somewhat comfy log, turning to face him he let out a sigh.
"Alright, spill," I stated as I looked at him, Shadow Freddy shook his head.
"Nightmare has been on the prowl since you lot went missing, he hasn't done anything big just made a few "suicides" happen so he could steal their souls and such, yesterday however he began to kill more and more and leave more tracks to follow, he's trying to lure you out Puppet," Shadow Freddy warned, I nodded and sighed.
"I know his game is starting Shadow, my main concern is keeping the rest of you safe while I play my turn," I sighed as I stood, a sharp pain in my side caused me to wince. Looking down slightly I noticed my powers faltering causing the growth to start re appearing, in a panicked motion I used a fair bit more power to hide it. With a deep breath I headed back to the others, upon entering the cabin I was given curious looks as Shadow Freddy walked in after me but I headed back to my box before any could be asked. Closing the lid to the box I allowed the growth to show itself, my heart only sank as I noticed it had gotten significantly worse the more it progressed. I couldn't hide this forever without hurting myself or the others, with a sigh I began to hide it again when a soft knocking on the box caused me to freeze.
"Puppet you alright? You didn't say a word when you got back," Came the worried voice of Freddy, hiding the growth I peeked out slightly.
"Yeah just a little exhausted I guess, I'm not used to using my powers after fifty years of sitting around doing nothing I guess," I half lied, this satisfied the large brown bear and I curled back up inside my box. Nightmare was coming for us once again, his thirst for power was going to get those around me hurt unless I did something about it. With a sigh I closed my eyes and rested my head on my hands, flicking a switch the soft melody of Pop-Goes-The-Weasel began to play. Humming along I slowly drifted off to sleep, I just hoped Nightmare wouldn't find us when we were still getting back on our feet.
Slightly shorter chapter but things will start to pick up in the next one, I hope these rewrites satisfy those who weren't happy with the originals.
