The next morning came and it was time for me to get up, even though I wanted to lay in bed. Lily woke me up with another girl, around our age.

"Morning." The girl said happily.

"Yea, morning." I mumbled as I pushed past her.

"Someone isn't a morning person." Lily said with a laugh.

"Bloody hate mornings." I mumbled rubbing my eyes.

We made our way to the Great hall and I plopped down in a chair. The girl from this morning rushed towards me and set beside me.

"I just realized I never got to give you my name! I'm Alice." She said holding her hand out to me.

I looked back at her and sent her a smile. She had short brown hair and eyes. She looked to be one of those happy go lucky people who was never sad or angry.

"Cassandra, but everyone calls me Cass." I said as I shook her hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Cass. I think we will be great friends." She said happily.

"Sure." I mumbled under my breath.

Just then I watched as my brother ran in with the boys.

"Cass!" Sirius exclaimed rushing up to me.

"Siri!" I exclaimed holding my arms out.

He ran to embrace me, but was cut off by Remus sitting between us.

"Ou you bastard!"

Remus let out a laugh and I covered my mouth, holding back a laugh of my own.

"Was this your seat?" Remus asked playfully.

"It's okay, Siri. We can sit together in Transfiguration." I said playfully.

Remus nodded his head and Sirius plopped down in front of him next to James.

"I think you like my sister better than you like me!" James said in shock.

"Course not! Mate she's just nicer."

"Sure.. traitor." James said shaking his head.

"Oi meet Alice. She is in our house, she and Lily are both my roommates." I said motioning to the two girls.

"Hello Lily." James said as his eyes turned into hearts, not really of course.

I rolled my eyes and kicked his leg under the table.

"Hey!" James yelped out.

"Stop making goggly eyes at my friend. Lily isn't dumb enough to like you." I said with a laugh.

"Ouch, I thought you cared."

"Nope, I just put up with you because I have no one else."

"You have us." Remus said with a laugh.

"You're right I can finally leave him and run away with you, Remy."

Remus let out a sigh and shook his head, smiling down at me. We finished eating and then rushed to our first class, where me and Sirius ran to see who could make it there first. When I saw that he was winning I pulled my wand out.

"Incarcerous!" I yelled stopping him in his tracks.

Ropes wrapped around Sirius and he fell to the ground.

"Miss Potter!" A voice yelled.

"Damn it." I mumbled as I turned around to see non other than McGonagll walking towards me, a frown on her face.

McGonagall walked up to us and with a swift motion of her wand, Sirius was untied.

"Professor-"

"Detention. Now take your seat."

"Wait! It was a joke! We were racing and-"

"That does not give her reason to tie up a student, Mister Black. Now she has detention, unless you wish to join her, take your seat."

Sirius looked back at his friends and then to me, he shrugged his shoulders and leaned against the wall. I looked at him shocked and he sent me a wink.

"What are you-"

"Making sure that I get detention with you." He said with a smile.

McGonagall let out a groan and shook her head.

"Very well, Detention Mister Black."

He smiled and walked over to me plopping down right beside me. My eyes were wide as I stared at him in shock.

"I can't believe you did that!" I exclaimed as we left the classroom.

"No way m, I'd let you got thru detention alone! We are friends!" Sirius said happily.

"Does this mean we need to get detention too?" James asked calmly.

"My mum would-"

"I say we prank Slughorn, we have him next period right?" James said cutting off Peter.

"Suppose to be learning Cure for boils." I said shrugging my shoulder.

They sent each other a look and needless to say they had detention with me. Detention came and I was the first person there, mostly because turns out my brother, Remus, and Peter wouldn't be in detention with us but Slughorn who would be having them clean his classroom.

"Hello, love." Sirius said sitting down beside me.

"Do I know you?"

"Ouch, I thought we were friends." He said in shock.

I let out a laugh and bumped his shoulder. Detention didn't last long, we simply had to write that we wouldn't do what we had done again, though I knew we would.
