Chapter 1

A shaft of sunlight entered into the room through the window. It was dark, and would be pitch black if it weren't for the sunlight peeking in. A figure could be seen on the bed next to the window, fast asleep.

"Madhu? Are you up yet?" said a voice, entering the room and switching on the light. This did nothing to disrupt the slumber of the figure who simply turned towards the side facing the pillow.

"Madhu! Madhu! Madhu!" shouted the same voice who had now reached near to the figure and was shaking him awake.
"Please Didi, can't you let me sleep for a while?" spoke the tired voice of Madhu, who turned to his sister without opening his eyes. He slowly opened his eyes, blinking, and immediately shielded his eyes from the light with his hands keeping the pillow over his face. "5 minutes." He spoke.

"Good heavens, no! Do you know how long you've been sleeping? Mother had pretty much made the breakfast and almost everyone had eaten. Get up!" said Medhavi, annoyance visible in her voice.
"5 minutes please," Madhu mumbled again, hiding his face in his pillow.
Medhavi smiled a mischievous smile, looking at her brother, as though an idea had just popped up in her mind.
"Now,now, do you remember what mother said yesterday? You wouldn't want to miss that, would you?" She spoke slyly looking at her brother with raised eyebrows.

"Miss what?" asked Madhu lazily, annoyed that his precious sleep got disrupted. What could be more important?

"The match ofcourse! India VS Pakistan match to be precise. " Medhavi said smirking at him.

"Bah! Let the match get lost!" He said nonchalantly. Sleep was always a priority.

Medhavi fake gasped. "Hold cricket! What has the world come to!?? Is Madhav Anil actually saying 'get lost to an India VS Pakistan match!?" She exclaimed.
Wait....Ind...INDIA VS PAKISTAN MATCH???THAT WAS TODAY!?

"WHATTT??" Oh snap! Why didn't you tell me earlier!?" Madhu asked her, jumping out of the bed ubruptly, sleep long forgotten.
Medhavi shrugged. "It's not my fault you won't wake up. Now don't waste more time and study what's left. You'd have to finish studying before the match or you can bid it goodbye. Let me go study too. Call me if you need help." She said, walking out of the room, happy that her short mission was accomplished.

Madhav sighed and decided to get ready for the day.

He was 11 year old boy with jet black hair that was neatly cut and kept of of his face and emerald green eyes. He was a student of class 6, and a good one at that. He loved physics, history and English, and loved writing. Medhavi was a 12 year old girl, a year older than her brother, with jet black hair identical to that of her brother's except that it was short till her shoulders and emerald green eyes just like her brother. She was a 7th grader who loved history, geography and chemistry and knew almost all the places and their capitals, much to the annoyance of her brother, and was pretty much good at studies, just like her brother. They liked music too and listened to it together whenever they did. And ofcourse, they were cricket lovers, and though they supported different teams in IPL, during the international matches, India was their favorite team. Well, not exactly favorite since they did criticise the team a lot, but yeah, they supported it. Their love for books were shared too, and the number of times they read through the Harry Potter and Geronimo Stilton series, competing to find who'd finish faster was uncountable.

Madhav walked up to the table in the room, next to the mirror, having finished brushing his teeth and taking a bath. He took up the phone that rested on the table and immediately plopped into the chair next to the table, opening discord. 14 notifications from Expecto Potterheads server and 5 from Hogwarts:Our Home, it displayed. He checked each one by one. In Hogwarts:Our Home, there was basically the usual good morning wishes from Sonakshi, one of his best friends from discord, who played Sirius; and the rest, a few Harry Potter memes that Marlene, another of his close friend, had sent. He had a good laughing going through them. He simply typed back a good morning to Sirius, waiting for the reply and chatted with her and Marlene for a while.

"Madhu? What are you doing there?" came the voice of his mother, followed by her peeping into the room.

"Phone, phone, phone! Always this! What are you doing now?" His mother asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

He simply stared at her, smiling sheepishly.
"You're chatting, aren't you?" She asked further, squinting at him.
Oh snap! Now she'll not let him watch that match.

"Maa,Maa,Maa! I'm really sorry! I stopped, I stopped. I promise you I'll finish my studies before evening." He replied, giving her his best innocent and apologetic grin.

"You better. I'll test you before your match. And that applies to you too, Medh." She spoke eyeing Medhavi who had just entered the room.

"Yes maa. I just completed 1 chapter. Human brain can only learn for max 45 mins, so I need some rest. And you know me mother, if I take too much time, I'll just end up falling asleep." said Medhavi.

"Madhu, it's high time you keep that device away and have your breakfast or are you planning to have it along with your lunch? Haven't I told you a hundred times that you're just increasing your screen time and it causes damage to your eyes? and Medh, since you really need 'rest' from studies for a while, why don't you do the dishes there, or is your rest confined to just your phone?" Their mother spoke, staring at the siblings.

"I'll have breakfast right away, Maa"

"Sure mother, I'll help you."

The siblings got up from their places and walked into the kitchen, sharing a look, followed by their mother.
