The One Day I Like Learning

Lucas's POV(this is going to get serious... mmm spicy yup)

I drift into his dreams, taunting him, hating him with all my existence and shadow-filled soul. He doesn't deserve to have Seth. That little bitch is trying to take him away from me. I watch with delight as he writhes in pain watching his love hurt him mentally and physically. With my blue haired love tormenting the weak mortal saying things such as:

"You don't deserve me." and "You are just a weak mortal." while attacking him with his gleaming obsidian and iron scythe. I smirk, filled with delight. I leave the mortal with this nightmare and transfer myself into Seth's dreams. At first, I think I didn't switch at all but this dreamscape is to familiar to deny. I see the mortal before me, holding Seth lovingly in his arms. My whip goes out and destroys the dream version of the male human, Seth drops from his arms to he pale white floor.

"Hello, my love" I purr stalking toward him. He stands his face hard and eyes cold.

"Lucas..." He growls.

"What? Are you unhappy to see me?" I frown.

"Actually yes." My frown deepens then I flash a grin.

"Oh come on! Do you really think that you and that mortal could be a thing? It's destiny for you and me, my love." He snarls and shoves me away. Then he starts walking. "Oh come on, love. It will never work. A mortal and a Fiend. It's never worked and never will." Seth growls and turns back, only to find me holding his shoulders. "Baby," I coo.

"Lucas get out of my dreams." I laugh.

"Aww, I didn't know you dreamt of me, honey!" Seth sighs.

"Shut it, Lucas. Get the fuck out of here, you ass." I laugh and shrug.

"As you wish, my darling"

And then I'm gone. Returning to the Mortal's dream I make dream Seth freeze while the weakling is on the ground crying.

"Get up, mortal," I demand. His head slowly raises. I snarl at him, "Get up! You think you can take Seth(senpai) from me?" He looks at me with pure confusion.

"W-what? Who are you?" I laugh.

"Seth probably has told you all about me." I grin.

"Nope. No idea who you are." I frown externally, then realize what I can do.

"I'm Seth's boyfriend."

Sam's POV

I wake up shaking, my cheeks smeared with salty tears, my pillow now a lake. I call up Seth, not sure how the deity has a phone. He picks up on the first ring.

"Seth!"

"Sam? What's wrong?"

"Do you... do you have a boyfriend?" Seth laughs.

"No. Though a demon really wants to be. He probably visited you in your dreams, didn't he? A blond haired, orange-eyed, asshole?"

"Y-yeah..." Seth snorts.

"Don't let him bother you. I got a visit from him too." He pauses. "Though it sounds like yours was worse." I shakily agree,

"Uh huh... What happened in yours?"

"I was having a really good dream, then he walked along the dreamscape and destroyed it. He tried to seduce me and insist that Fiends can't be with mortals." I take a breather.

"Three things. One, what was the dream? Two, what are Fiends? Three, why can't they be with mortals?" I wait a bit for a response. "Seth?"

"I don't remember my dream anymore. Fiends are not exactly Demons, but they're more closely related to them than Angels. They're also way more powerful. And they can't be with mortals because of stupid old laws." I take this in.

"What are the laws? And you mentioned a dreamscape, so what was that?" He sighs.

"Alright. Load me on with questions. The laws are weird and stupidly complicated. The main law says that 'No Mortal shalt rest with thoust'. That spiked up a ton of bullcrap arguments about sleeping and dating and shit. But the final outcome was that mortals basically can't have any sort of romantic interaction with any form of deity. Dumb. And again, I don't remember anything about the dream besides that."

"What kinds of deities are there? You've mentioned Angels, Demons, and Fiends. What other kinds are there and can you give me some examples?" I'm just laying the questions as on him as soon as I can.

"There are Angels, Demons, Fiends, Gods, and Monsters. Monsters are the less powerful, the Henchmen. The Hydra, Hellhound, Sirens, and other creatures from mythologies are all examples. Angels are what mortals think are gods, they look over certain things. Cassiel, the Angel of temperance, and Charmaine, the Angel of Harmony are both my friends and Angels. Demons are just like Angels, but they each specialize in bad things rather than good. Jack, the Demon of Sadness, Maze, the Demon of Secrets, and Lucas, who you know, the Demon of Light, are all Demons. Maze and Jack are my friends, but Lucas is just a little shit. There are only three Fiends. The Fiend of Love, who doesn't have a name, the Fiend of Death, that's me, and the Fiend of War. War doesn't have a name. They just go by War. We never really see the Fiend of Love unless one of the deities falls in love and there's a form of a wedding or something. And there are three gods. The God of Creation, the God of Deities, and the God of Mortals. The God of deities created and watches over us. You know what the God of Mortals does. The God of Creation watches over everything else. It's an interesting concept." I blink, not realizing how complicated it is.

"There must be thousands of deities then!"

"Yup. But a lot of them just take lives as mortals."

"Is... Are you able to do that?" He laughs.

"I wish. But no. I'm a Fiend, remember?"

"Then why are you at my school?" He pauses.

"I wasn't always Death." I snort.

"I know. That wasn't the first time." Silence. Then he moves on.

"Azrael was before me. You were my first case, actually." I laugh. Lucky me. "Then Azrael decided I needed a break, so I came down to do random stuff. Maybe murder some homophobes." I laugh.

"Joking, joking. But does that answer all your questions?"

"Yeah. Thanks. Wait, no. How sad is your Demon friend, Jack, and how many secrets does the other one have? Maze, right? And why does Lucas want you?"

"Really? Those are your questions? Ok. Well, let me put them on the line." Wait, what?

"Wait, what?" Demons have phones?

"Yeah, Demons and Angels have phones. Gotta keep in contact from Hell." I suddenly remember something about my chat with Kelli the night before 'I have a girlfriend, well kinda.. but her name is Cassiel...Cass for short' then Seth this morning teaching him about the different angels and demons. Cassiel the angel of temperance, a deity can take on the form of humans, I mean mortals,

"Wait hold up Seth. Does your angel friend, Cassiel, happen to be in 'mortal' form?"

I hear a gasp of surprise from the other end of the phone but it's not Seth's. It's female.

"How'd ya know about that?!" she sounds agitated.

"You don't happen to be Cassiel are you?" I question.

"Yeah, what's it to you!" she demands.

"I'm Sam. Seth's friend. You don't happen to be roommates with someone named Kelli are you?" Silence.

"Yeah. How you know her?"

"She's been my friend for years. She was talking about how you two are roommates. That's friggin awesome!"

"HI!!! HOW ARE ALL OF YOU??? I'M JACKSPEDICEY!!!" Ah. That must be Jack.

"You're Jack, right? The Demon of sadness? Why are you the Demon of sadness? You sound so happy?"

"I hate my fokin job. It sucks balls. I just wanna be happy, yet I hafta watch over sadness? Like what the fock even?" I laugh.

"Kay. I like you." I can almost hear him grin.

"Thanks."

"Hmmm...;" a slithery voice says. "Shall we play a game? How about two truths and a lie...?" Seth sighs.

"Maze, no. Not the time."

"Ok, then. Cool." Maze's voice completely changes, going from a snake into a happy British accent. I can't help but laugh right along with Jack.

"So are you all in your "mortal form or whatnot?" I ask, trying to move the conversation along.

Jacks cheerful voice is the first one to speak. "WELL, I am! Ireland is so AWESOME! Except for the rain... I don't like rain much me..."

"Jack you love rain don't lie." Maze"s voice slips into the conversation. "I would know"

"I'm not lying! I hate downpours. The nice sprinkles that happen after the rain is nice because of PUDDLES! Also, there are so many rainbows here"

"Seth, sounds like your dream place" Maze adds.

"EW NO! I hate rain" Seth complains.

"We are gonna have a problem then sir, Rain is the best weather!" I exclaim.

"What?! Betrayal!" Seth exclaims dramatically. And I listen to everyone laugh alongside me. I can't remember this many people talking to me at once of their own free will.

"Sam! Get Ready to go!" my mother shouts from downstairs. I groan into the phone. "I gotta head out guys." I hear a chorus of 'aws' from the other end. "But why, It's Saturday!!" Seth whines. "Aw it's ok, I'm heading to my Aunt's for the weekend. Call you on the way" I end the call with the press of a thumb, then I hold my finger over the power button for a moment, hesitant to leave my unfinished online art unintended, but eventually I click it off and crawl out of bed and stalk across a room with walls covered with self-made art.
