The Nightmare
The night before Rosalina discovered the north winds and the vanishing Luma situation, she had a horrible nightmare.
The Night Before:
Rosalina tossed and tumbled in the purple bedroom dome. She couldn't sleep. She tried putting extra blankets on, taking the sheets off, changing, getting a glass of water, reading, everything imaginable.
Eventually Rosalina gave up. Frustrated, she threw the sheets on the ground. She got out of bed. The bright moonlight reflected off of her white legs. She wore a teal tank top with matching shorts.
She threw her pillow at her bed and accidentally broke the lamp. She left to get a light bulb and realized how beautiful the stars were. She took a walk to the fountain to camp out. Maybe a change of scenery would do her good.
She reached the base of the fountain. She gently placed her slipper on the warp panel and flew up to the top. Her friend, a black Luma, lived there.
Rosalina entered the fountain.
"Hello. I was wondering if you would join me sleeping under the stars." Rosalina asked.
The Black Luma spun around. "I would be honored!" It squeaked.
Rosalina and Black Luma laid down a blanket and sat down. Rosalina looked up. The stars were beautiful, yet Rosalina sighed.
"My Mama, whats wrong?" The Black Luma was very concerned.
"Oh, nothing. Looking at the sky just makes me... remember things..." She got lost in the stars.
A little girl cried. A little pale gold Luma floated up to her and brushed a strand of blonde hair out of her face.
"It will be ok..." The Luma whispered. The girl cried harder. She screamed and mourned.
"My mama!" The girl screamed. The Luma felt compassion, for it didn't have a mother itself.
The Luma held a little purple cluster in its hand. It gave the cluster to the girl.
"Food makes me feel better. Star bit?"
The girl wiped tears off of her face with her slender arm and ate it. The Luma snuggled up next to her.
"You will always have me." The Luma squeaked.
"Mama?"
Rosalina was shocked back into reality. "Sorry, I was just daydreaming. "
Rosalina closed her eyes.
Baby Luma was being ripped out of her arms by a powerful force. Rosalina screamed.
"No!" She couldn't do anything. Her sweaty arm slipped and her beloved Luma was sucked out of her arms. It slowly floated into the distance until she could no longer see it.
"NOOOOO!" Rosalina screamed. She bolted awake. Sweat glistened on her face. She felt sick to her stomach.
She walked down to the grass and sat down. She just cried. For about an hour, she cried and let all of her emotions out. Nobody was around. She clutched her necklace and breathed heavily.
"Just a dream." She assured. "Just a dream."
