Chapter Sixteen
Once Roman was dead, and Arthur had stopped crying out of guilt, the older Italian brother and the Spaniard thanked the vampires. Roman had been beating and insulting them for years, and forcing Antonio to go after Francis. The reason? Simple. Roman loved Jeanne. When she died, he didn't blame the hunters. He blamed Francis. "Speaking of the hunters, where are they, mon ami?" Francis asked Antonio.
He was taken aback when he started to laugh, "They died off years ago! Gilbert took out the last one, remember?"
"Gilbert? Gilbert Belischmidt?" Ludwig asked, gently.
"Si, mi amigo. Why?"
"He's still alive? How?"
"Gilbert's a siren. He made a deal with a witch to grant him eternal life, not caring what being he was. He said it was so he co- oh my God..." Francis said as realization sunk in, "...so he could find his little brother, Ludwig again!" Francis realized.
"Where is he?"
"Hospital," Arthur answered. "He's been supplying Francis with blood for months now," he said.
"I have to see him!" Ludwig exclaimed. He hadn't seen his brother in centuries, and assumed him to be dead.
"We can see him tomorrow, ok, bello?" Feliciano said.
"Hey, Feli? Why the hell are you even married to a potato bastard?" Lovino asked, still distrusting of the German angel.
"Because he's so fun, and nice! And strong and attractive and-"
"Ok! I've heard enough!"
"Hey, wait! Why are we still here?" Antonio interrupted the Italian brothers.
"Don't know, but...what are we gonna do about Roman's body?" Arthur asked, guilt hitting him yet again.
"We can dump him in the river," Lovino answered, pure hatred filling his eyes. He'd been bullied by the bastard for so long, and now he was dead. Now he couldn't hurt him.
"Alright. The authorities shouldn't be able to detect anything after he's been in the water for a while," Antonio agreed. Everyone looked to the angels for approval.
"Go ahead. We can't stop you," Ludwig said.
(Later that night, the body was floating in the river)

"Thanks again," Lovino said to Arthur.
"You're welcome, lovino." Smiled the vampire.
Life was going to be different. Things were changing for the new group of friends. And it was a damn good change.
