Chapter Six
Francis lay awake, as usual, but now he was in bed with another man. Arthur had invited him to his house. After they got coffee, none of which Francis drank, they went to a bar together, again, Francis drank nothing. Arthur however, had had too much alcohol, and decided to kiss Francis' cheek. Thus starting the revelation that ended up with them both in Arthur's bed, still clothed, mind you. Francis had made it clear somehow that Arthur was drunk, and that he didn't want to sleep with a drunk man. He carefully stroked Arthur's hair, relishing in the peace of the world, but he was getting hungry. He had made a vow to himself that he wouldn't harm the blonde man resting on his chest, ever. He wanted to protect him with his life. That's why he had decided to slowly and quietly get up, not waking the Brit, and left the apartment. All he had to do was go to the hospital. Luckily for him, his friend Gilbert, was a siren and was a doctor.
When he returned to Arthur's apartment, he quickly realized it was a mistake. He had blood on his chin, and Arthur was awake. "Francis?? Why the hell are you bleeding?!" The human asked.
"A-Arthur, calm down, I can explain!" He said, his fangs flashing.
"What the hell?! You have fangs?! You're a vampire!!!" He shouted.
Francis went silent for a while. "Yes. I am...but, I would never harm you! I swear!" He exclaimed. His fangs flashed brightly in the moonlight.
"Why the hell should I trust you?! I met you only yesterday, and you're a monster!" He shouted, backing away from the broken vampire.
"I-I know! I know! But if I ever did hurt you, I'd never be able to forgive myself! There's just...something about you!" The vampire cried, tears actually poking at his eyes.
"I-" Arthur began, but then thought back to the book he'd read. "D-do you have a mark on your arm?"
"A mark?" Francis asked. Then he rolled up his sleeve. "You mean this?" The rose shone brightly in the direct ray of moonlight.
Arthur's eyes widened. "Oh my God...I-I have a matching rose...on my back..." He blushed.
"Y-you do?" Francis asked in disbelief. He and Jeanne had both had the mark, and had revealed it to each other after they began a relationship. He never thought he'd ever have another one. How could he after he watched his true love die?
"Y-yes...what does it mean?!" Arthur asked, slightly irritated, slightly embarrassed.
"Well...it means that..." Francis gulped, "that we're lovers?"
