A young man with crimson red hair was sitting down as a girl with hair as white as snow sat in his lap. The two were playing video games. These two were Ryu Lucile, or Lucifer, and Koneko Toujou.

Ryu: Looks like I win again Neko.

Koneko: -_- Of course you do.

Ryu: Best to 3?

Koneko: Actually, I wanted to ask you a few questions.

Ryu: Sure.

Koneko: Why did you join Rias' Peerage?

Ryu: Hm?

Koneko: Even before we knew who your dad was, you still knew that you were the rightful heir to the throne Devil King. It really doesn't make sense why you'd do that.

Ryu: ... Well I knew I could leave anytime I really felt like it. If I'm being honest I could've rejected the evil peace from my body. And I knew that I'd probably become a King eventually and get my own Peerage.

Koneko: Is that really it?

Ryu: I know, I know, it makes it sound like I don't have any pride.

He fell a bit silent a the girl looked up at him.

Koneko: There's more to it than that isn't there?

Ryu: ... You wanna hear about my past?

Koneko: Better now than never.

Ryu: Haha, it's actually mostly the reason I actually said yes. Let me tell you how I found out who I really was Koneko.

MANY YEARS BEFORE!!

A 14 year old Ryu was walking down the sidewalk with a backpack. He walked looking forward with a somber expression taking note of the sounds around him. Cars where going past on the road while he also noticed children in the park. He glanced over seeing the kids with their parents laughing and smiling. Though he kept walking as soon enough he got to a school.

Teacher: Alright class, today is the last day of school before Summer Vacation!! Make sure not to forget what we've learned!

Everyone responded with a cheer. For the rest of the day the students conversed throughout classes. Ryu however stayed silent the entire day unless spoken too, which wasn't much. After the day had finished the students had gone outside conversing among each other.

Male Student1: So what are you gonna do this summer?

Male Student2: Dude you won't believe it, me and my brothers are going on a trip to California with our dad!!

Male Student1: Man that sounds awesome!!

Female Student1: Yeah, I'm going with my sisters and mom to Miami for 2 weeks!

Female Student2: Lucky!!! I wish I could head somewhere with my parents!

Ryu stopped hearing this clenching the strap of his bag.

Ryu: '... At least you have parents.'

He kept walking as after 15 minutes of walking he had gotten to a nice house. As he opened the door he took off his shoes before turning on the lights and going to the living room. When he did he turned on the TV bringing on an anime. After some time he went to the kitchen whipping down the counter before taking out a pan and putting vegetable oil on it and lighting the stove. He went into the fridge before taking out meat and placing it on the pan causing the sound of sizzling. After that he began making rice multitasking. After the meat was done he fried an egg before putting the rice in it, adding soy sauce, onions, and green onions.

Ryu: *Sigh* Done.

He wiped sweat off of his forehead before seeing the time as it was 6:30.

Ryu: I spent a lot more time on that than I thought.

He made himself a plate before sitting down starting to eat. While he did he went through mail as he saw a particular envelope.

Ryu: What's this?

He flipped it over seeing a satanic symbol on it.

Ryu: ... Must... Not let... Curiosity... Win...

He was about to put it down but much to his dismay he instinctively opened it up.

Ryu: -_- Why do I have a feeling this was a bad choice?

He pulled out a paper with the same symbol as the envelope while there were also words.

Ryu: Well, nothing to lose I guess.

He began to read what the paper said.

Ryu: "Speak out the desires of your heart and your wish shall be granted". Ugh, note to self, make sure to turn off locations on my phone.

He threw the paper to the side annoyed. The lights flickered on and off alarming Ryu.

Ryu: O_O

He looked to the paper seeing that there was an odd glowing circle.

Ryu: NOPE!

He jumped out of his seat going straight to the door trying to open it but failing.

Ryu: How the hell can I not open my own damn door?!!

He looked back to see someone coming out of the paper.

Ryu: ... What kind of satanic bullshit?

???: Looks like the circle got to you safe.

When he looked closer he noticed that it was a girl no older than 15. Not only that, but her hair was a lavender color, a pair of rabbit ears, and a sinful body. But most noticeably to Ryu.

She was about 5'1. About 7 inches shorter than him.

Ryu: ...

???: What? Speechless? Never seen a girl this cute?

She said that in a playful but mocking tone.

Ryu: -_-

Ryu simply opened the door, pushed the girl out, and closed it.

Ryu: That's it, from now on I'm throwing sketchy envelopes out.

???: You know that wouldn't exactly be bad, but not exactly good either.

His head shot back as he saw the girl sitting down with a plate of the food he made.

Ryu: OH HOW THE HELL DID YOU EVEN HAVE THE TIME?!!

???: You'd be surprised.

She took a bite before stars formed in her eyes.

???: MMMMM!! Did you really make this yourself?! It's delicious!

Ryu: Ok, first off, who the hell even are you? Second off: HOW THE HELL DID YOU COME OUT OF A PIECE OF PAPER?!!

???: Oh right, that was rude of me! My name is Evelyn. Evelyn Devilos.

Ryu: Ok, but that doesn't explain WHAT you are, and how you did what you just did!

Evelyn: Fair point. Why don't you try guessing?

Ryu: -_- If I had any idea I would've said it by now.

Evelyn: Boo! You're no fun. Fine, I was sent here for a reason. That flyer was a magic circle for summoning beings like me. The thing is-

Much to Ryu's shock a pair of bat wings formed on the small girls back.

Evelyn: I'm a Devil.

Ryu: O_O

Evelyn: Cat got your tongue? It's fine. It's not every day a demon comes to your house.

Ryu: Yeah I think all the stress and isolation has gotten to me. I'm going to bed so I can wake up, and hopefully you will not be here.

Evelyn quickly pinched his cheek pulling it before it snapped back.

Evelyn: That feel like a dream to you?

Ryu: ... Ohhh shit... Ohhhh my fucking-

Evelyn quickly covered Ryu's mouth.

Evelyn: Actually could you hold off on the G Word? That kinda stings when not used the right way.

He calmly removed her hand taking a breath.

Ryu: J-Just back the fuck up, and please explain to me exactly how Devils are real, and on earth.

Evelyn: Ok, let me take it from the top. You see there are Three Great Powers in this world. There those who are Devils like me, who misguide humans. There are Angels, who serve God to please him and do his and what not. And lastly there are Fallen Angels. They go around misguiding humans as well, but unlike us, they want to serve God. Though it's too late for them since their dark desires have forced them into the underworld. However both sides want to wipe the Devils, so we're constantly defending ourselves from both sides.

Ryu: You're... Telling the truth.

Evelyn: Glad you're not in denial.

Ryu: Then why come to me?! I don't remember ever wanting to sell my soul!

Evelyn: Well, the reason we did is because my master sensed a strong source of demonic power coming from the town, other than the devils that already reside here.

Ryu: Again, what does that have to do with me?!

Evelyn: Well, we narrowed it down to a single place. And it turned out to be this house. And now that I'm close enough, I realize that it was you.

Evelyn could see an ominous aura surrounding Ryu. It was large and almost encompassing the entire house.

Ryu: What the hell does that even mean?!!

Evelyn: *Sigh* Ryu, haven't you ever wondered why you don't feel right going near the church in this town?

Ryu: Spit it out!

Evelyn: Well, only Devils have Demonic Power. So, that means you're one of us.

Hearing that Ryu paused for a moment. Soon after he sat down.

Ryu: ...

Evelyn: I guess you need so time. It's alright.

Ryu: So you're saying... I'm a full blown Devil...

Evelyn: Well actually no. You're a half blood. Which in all honesty is way more dangerous.

Ryu: This is just... woah...

Evelyn: Because of the fact you're half human, there's a chance that you've gained a special abilities pure blood Devils can't.

Ryu: Hold on seriously, I just need a bit to process this.

Evelyn: Aha, sorry. Maybe I should explain that another time.

After another minute Ryu took in a deep breath.

Ryu: Alright, so why exactly did you come to my house OTHER than the demonic power thing.

Evelyn: Do you want the straight forward and fast answer or do you want details.

Ryu: Yeah details would be pretty great.

Evelyn was about to open her mouth before an explosion occurred outside.

Evelyn: Uh oh.

Ryu: ... Gonna need that explanation now.

Evelyn: Ahaha, that might have to- DODGE!!!

She grabbed Ryu pulling him down as what seemed to be a spear of light came through the window before exploding.

Evelyn: Crap they're here a lot sooner than- AH!!

Still with Ryu she rolled them over dodging another spear. Coincidentally she was on top of him after with her chest just an inch away from his face. At any other time the boy might've blushed but at the current moment, he couldn't.

Ryu: WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING?!!!

Evelyn: Fallen Angels are trying to kill you!

Ryu: WHY?!!

Evelyn: Well now that they're here then that confirms you have- WOAH!!

She ducked under a spear headed towards her as on instinct Ryu jumped over his couch avoiding a light spear himself.

Ryu: O_O I now know I'm faster than I thought.

Evelyn: That's good to know, but don't try fighting those things!

Ryu: I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I'D BE FIGHTING!!!

Soon the roof of the house blew up as there were 4 men with black wings.

Ryu: OH COME ON THE WINDOWS WEREN'T ENOUGH?!!!

Fallen1: So that's the one huh?

Fallen2: Just a teenager is the wielded of THAT Sacred Gear?

Evelyn: You can dodge, but don't get close. I can handle this.

Ryu: You think you can take four people that can shoot spears of light?! That's nuts!

Evelyn: Hey, isn't the first time.

She walked forward as what seemed to be tonfa appeared in her hands.

Ryu: 'Does she really think that those things will help her?'

Evelyn: You fallen angels came to the wrong neighborhood.

In the blink of an eye she was gone shocking everyone.

Fallen1: Where'd she go?!

Fallen2: BEHIND YOU!!

The dark angel couldn't turn in time before he felt something hit his arm breaking it. This was caused by Evelyn as while in the air she turned herself before kicking the man in the neck gaining an audible crack as he fell. Still processing what he had just seen Ryu was completely silent.

Ryu: ...

Blades came out of both of the tonfa as she spun them in her hands.

Evelyn: I'm not one for second chances, so unfortunately for you all: You die today.

She spread her wings flying to the next two angels. They both flung spears at her to no avail as she broke each of them before stabbing through their hearts.

Evelyn: Alright, one to go.

Ryu: AHHH!!!

Evelyn turned and saw the last Fallen Angel had grabbed Ryu with a light spear in hand.

Fallen3: THAT'S ENOUGH!! Drop you weapons or I slit the boys throat!!

Evelyn: 'Damnit, he's got me.'

Fallen3: NOW!!

Evelyn: Alright alright.

She dropped the weapons in her hands putting them up.

Fallen3: Good, now any last words?

Evelyn looked at Ryu who seemed about ready to burst.

Evelyn: ... Just feel it.

Hearing those words he was confused.

Ryu: 'I wish I could understand what she's saying, but the only thing I feel is my heart about to burst!'

???: Are you really, going to let it end here?

Ryu: 'Wh-What the?'

???: Just like this at the hands of a weakling? Are you satisfied at dying this young?

His heart began to beat faster as he noticed the spear of the Fallen Angel moving up.

???: Well?

Heat began to come off of Ryu as his eyes widened going slitted as he glowed in a black aura.

Fallen3: Wh-What is this?!!

Evelyn smirked.

Evelyn: Yeah that's about right. You were too strong not to have one.

Ryu: HELL NO!!!!

Black flames burst from his arms as the Fallen Angel was too close before having one of his wings burnt off.

Fallen3: AHHHHHH!!!!!

Ryu looked at his arms seeing the flames as his feet were in the black flames as well.

Ryu: Wh-What's happening? How the hell are my limbs on fire but I don't feel any kind of pain?

Evelyn: I'll be honest I was expecting something more flashy. But the power is the real deal if you've done this to a Fallen one.

Ryu looked at the dark angel seeing him on the ground in agony.

Evelyn: Anyway, we can't let him report back to whoever sent him. So, it's either I do it, or...

Ryu looked at the Fallen Angel who was terrified and then to his house which was ruined. He then looked to the other corpses before clenching his fist.

Ryu: ... This is gonna suck.

He went over the the now single winged man before grabbing him by the neck, and allowing flames to burn his body to nothing but ash. Immediately after Ryu turned going to a bush before throwing up.

Evelyn: Good call.

Ryu: *Cough* Y-You still didn't explain... What is this?

Evelyn: Those flames are a Sacred Gear. A power that has existed for many years and only a few people in history have had. You're a pretty big deal.

Ryu: Then why me?

Evelyn: Who knows?

Ryu: ... Then what now?

Evelyn extended out her hand to Ryu.

Evelyn: Here's a suggestion. Come along with me. You'll probably find answers you want.

Ryu still silent looked at her hand before grabbing it.
