My POV

While fighting back against the opposing forces attacking beach city, a enemy grunt hits the top of my left hand, cracking my gem.

I fall to the ground and try to move backwards, as the grunt goes to land a fatal blow on me, he is sliced by a light pink katana.

I look to see the wielder of the katana, it's Kat, and her crew.

"Zach, are you alright?" She asks me, getting onto one knee.

"No, m-my gem is c-cracked, get me to a shuttle and back to homeworld, f-fast." I tell her.

Darkness engulfs me.

Kat's POV

I quickly carry Zach to the shuttle me and my crew own, we quickly take off into orbit and enter hyperspace straight to homeworld.

A few minutes later we exit hyperspace and enter homeworld's orbit.

A voice comes on through the comms.

"This is yellow diamond, state your business entering homeworld's orbit." Yellow diamond demands.

I press the microphone button.

"This is Katlady, a good friend of Zachariah diamond quartz, we need immediate permission to land and all medical gems on emergency stand-by!" I tell her.

"Why?" She asks.

"We have Zach on board, his gem got severely cracked during the battle of beach city!" I exclaim.

"You have permission to land, all medical gems are waiting!" She tells me.

We land, carry Zach to the medical gems, and follow behind them.

Yellow diamond's POV

I'm running towards the emergency medical bay.

I enter the emergency medical bay and grab the holo-communicator Zach made me, blue, and white out of my gem and call blue and white.

"Yes yellow?" Both blue and white ask in unison.

"You two need to get to the emergency medical bay now, a good friend of Zach named katlady brought Zach back here, his gem got severely cracked during the battle of beach city." I tell them both.

"I'll bring Zach's kids and wife!" White states.

I send a message to Steven, telling him the same thing.

Timeskip

Blue diamond's POV

Me, white, spinel, Shawn and Nora enter the room Zach is in, what we see made my gem run cold.

Zach, on life support and our top medical gems working hard to fix his gem.

Shawn walks up next to his dad.

"D-dad?" Shawn asks, tears running freely.

"Hey kiddo." My son answers.

I walk up next to my son.

"This is my fault, if I told you to stay here-" my son cuts me off.

"don't blame yourself mom, this is what I get for p-playing nice."my son tells me.

The door behind us gets kicked open, Steven and Alex run in.

"Me and Alex are here, let me try to heal his gem." Steven states.

Me, Shawn, Nora and spinel move aside, Steven walks forward and kisses Zach's gem, a few seconds later the crack closes up, fully healed.

A medical gem scans Zach's gem.

"Your gem is fully healed, but I suggest taking it easy for awhile, just to be safe." The doc tells my son.

"Understood doc." My son tells the gem.

I move up to my son and hug him.

"Thank Stars, I was so afraid that I'd lose you." I tell him, tears running down my face.

"I'll be ok mom." He tells me.
