Chapter Four: The Song Selection

"How was everyone's first meeting?" Ginny questioned. "Because mine was positively delightful after I knocked Blaise unconscious."

"Pansy's a prat, just like the rest of the Slytherins." Ron snapped. "Flitwick took away our wands so we had a fist fight for an hour before we were let out of the room." He gestured to his eye, which was slowly turning more and more purple. "You can see how well that went."

"Maisy seems sweet, but she has some giant crush on me, which is really obnoxious." Harry explained. "She keeps trying to kiss me." Ginny paused.

"Tell her if she does I'm hexing her off the astronomy tower." she warned. Harry nodded.

"Will do." he agreed. "What about you Hermione?"

"My meeting went better than any of yours from the sound of it." She admitted. "Draco and I-"

"Hold on." Ron cut her off. "Did you just call the ferret Draco?"

"Yes, Ronald, I did. Draco and I have agreed to forget about the past and start over, and I encourage you all to do the same. There's no more ferret, or Malfoy- nor am I Granger or you-know-what. He's really changed for the better." Her friends stared at her.

"Malfoy?" Harry said in surprise. He glanced over at the Slytherin table. "Really?"

"Yes."

"Huh. Who woulda thought."

"There's nothing to think. He's probably got her under some spell to make her more tolerable." Ron snarled.

"He does not!" Hermione said furiously, standing up from her seat. "He has become a good man Ron- and a better one than you for the moment!" She stormed out of the Great Hall and headed for the library; oblivious to the fact that someone was following her.

Hermione bee lined towards a familiar shelf of books, barely looking as she reached for the place her favorite book was always in. Only this time, it was gone.

"Every single you come in here and you always grab the same book. How come?" a cool voice asked gently. She nearly shivered at the sound of Draco's voice.

"Because it's my favorite. Now give it here." She explained, whirling around to see Draco behind her, holding her book high in the air.

"Only if you answer me one question." he insisted. Hermione eyed the book and glanced at Draco, her gaze lingering on his stormy eyes.

"Deal." He smiled and quietly handed her the book. She snatched it from his hand and rushed off to a table to read. "What's your question?" she demanded, knowing that he was following her.

He's probably going to ask me something inappropriate, she presumed. Or something about Ron. Oh please don't let him ask about Ron. Why can't he just ask a simple question like decent men do-

"Is there any particular song you want to sing for the competition?" He asked innocently. Hermione froze and turned to stare at him. She gaped at his sincere face, noting that this was his question of choice.

"N-no." she stammered. "Not really. I mean, I thought that- well, there are a lot of songs from muggle movies and musicals that we could perform." Draco frowned.

Here comes the comment that proves he hasn't changed, Hermione reassured herself.

"What's a movie?" Her jaw dropped.

"You don't know what a movie is?" she repeated.

"Haven't the slightest idea."

"Oh my merlin...." Hermione shook her head. "You know what, that's what we're doing tomorrow."

"What?"

"We're going to watch movies. I'm going to give you a musical movication." she declared. Draco only looked more confused.

"Can you repeat that in English?"

"That is English, Draco. Perhaps you need to relearn it."
