"Carmen are going to wake up now or do you want me to come up and give you a piece of my mind?" i woke up to the sound of my mother yelling from downstairs... sitting up on my bed i wondered what day it was..

when my mom barged in my room.... "oh so your up! is it so hard for you to open your freaking mouth and tell me that ur awake... if you had i wouldn't have spent the last 10 minutes screaming my vocals out trying to wake you up!!! she yelled at me....

shutting the door behind as she left she continued "look at her sitting as if she fell from the sky... useless idiot...."

i could feel my moms feet thud down the stairs.... soon after i leaped out of bed realising if i wasn't down soon i might as well get ready for another scold dose from my mom...

15 mins later i was down ready for the day... i pulled out a bowl and spoon from the pantry placing them on the table i grabbed the cereal from from the cupboard... breakfast was pretty much the same every day... fruit loops and milk....

as i began nibbling on my breakfast.... i thought about my dad.... my dad and mom got divorced last year and eversince we have lived with my mom... i loved my dad alot he was my best friend but as per the court since i was a girl i had to stay with my mom and since jess (my lil bro) was too little to decide he was also handed to my mom BUT,once every week we were allowed to meet our dad... but, our mom just made reasons to keep us apart from my dad but as the days passed my mom just made reasons to prevent us from meeting our dad....

my thoughts were interrupted when jess came into the kitchen as the racket he always is.... he started circling the table around and around.."look carmen!!! im a rocket" he screamed i couldn't help but let out a giggle... jess was my last bit of happiness after my parents divorce he reminded me alot of my dad...

just as i was watching jess... my mom entered the kitchen jess immediately stopped playing and dashed to the hall...

"those floors are not going to clean itself Carmen... stop wasting time and get to it!!!" my mom said as she left for her room

i stood up and dumped the not even half finished cereal bowl and cleaned the dishes... and walked to the hall... jess was playing there as he saw me he ran towards me and gave me a huge hug as i lifted him up....

i plopped him on to the couch and began cleaning when my mom came into the hall placing herself on the couch she began scrolling through her facebook...

just as i began vacuuming the floor the doorbell rang i expected my mom to open the door but she just behaved as he didn't hear anything dropping the vacuum i approached the door a i opened it..

my aunt Brenda barged in completely ignoring me as if i was invisible or something... ignoring her attitude i shut the door...

"Daniel cheated on me!!! I'm done with that dipshit!!!" she spoke at the top of her voice now gaining my mothers attention...

i left the room deciding that i cannot clean the place when they are engaged in such conversation..

i dumped all the laundry into the washing machine and hit the start button before sitting at the table with my phone...

i unlocked my phone noticing a few texts and missed calls all from the same person my bestie "MARSHA"... i opened up her texts

MARSHA: hey!!!

HEY!!!

u there????

are you even alive?????

ME: yes!!! im alive apperently...

MARSHA: where were you stooopid???

ME: here.....

MARSHA: anyways... i need your advice on a life or death decision!!!

ME: what???

MARSHA: srsly... women show some emotion...

ME: okaii fine....WHAT??!?!!?!?.... is that enough?

MARSHA: LOL... anyways do you think i should dress to impress or just go casual for the first day of school?

ME: casual.. i guess

MARSHA: wow!!! thanx bitch you are a life saver!!! :)

ME: ikr!!! ur welcome hoe!!! ;)

we continued to text when the washing machine dinged signalling me the clothes were done...

i texted marsha goodbye and started drying the laundry...

i finished up the laundry work and decided to go back to my room... as i climbed the stairs i noticed my mom and aunt brenda engaged in a serious conversation...

i climbed into my bed and started watching bangtan bombs on YouTube... they always cheered me up... when jess entered my room and crawled up next to me... he played with his plane for a while before he fell asleep...

as i continued to watch the videos my mom called me down.. i ran down because being insulted in front of aunt brenda is the last thing id want...

"aunt brenda will be here for lunch... making something eatable for lunch, okaii? do you get what im saying into ur sick head?"

i nodded and began making lunch... i decided to make fried chicken, mash potatoes and sweet corn salad... as i was hallway done my mom and aunt brenda went to the room... minutes later my mom came out all dressed aunt brenda following her...

"were going shopping, we'll be having lunch out too so clean up whatever shit you have made" my mom said pointing at the food i was preparing.... my heart literally sank to my stomach but i kept a steady face....

"look after jess, clean the house , wash the dishes, and just look after the house... don't be a careless like you always have been!!!" she said as she left out the door...

as i shut the door... i leaned my back on the door i began crying... tears ran down my cheek... as i sat there jess came down stairs..

"carmen I'm hungry can i have some yummy food pls??" he said rubbing his eyes...

i stood up wiping my eyes i replied to him "sure sweety... come on"

after me and jess were done with food... jess sat on the couch with a packet of sour gummies...

i continued cleaning everything as i was done with that i joined jess on the couch... we continued to watch TV....

we watched TV till it was 8 in the night... mom wasn't home yet and it began to worry jess

"wheres mom carmen???" he kept asking me...

i took jess to his room and helped him change into his pjs and tucked him into bed.... our mom doesn't usually cook anything for dinner for us so were used to not eating anything in the night...

i went to my room changed into my pjs and was just surfing my social media platforms... when my room door opened up...

it scared me at first but it was just jess.... "can i sleep with you today carmen??? im scared.. pls" he said

"sure honey" i replied with a smile...

within no tym he was asleep... but as for me Tomorrow was the first day of school... the excitement kept me awake......
