It was a simple formula. The hard part was getting the two variables on one side.

The Professor stared at his notecards. How am I to do this? he wondered.

He scribbled something down in his notebook, only to tear and crumble up the page. He tossed it into the recycling bin, but it missed by a few centimeters. He sighed, and got up slowly, and picked up the piece of paper. Right when he was about to throw it into the bin, he saw the answer, in the form of a newspaper article.

The Professor picked the newspaper article from off of the ground.

Boys Can Like Boys, Girls Can Like Girls

The answer was clear to him now. On a blank sheet of paper, he wrote the word LOVE, in clear print.

The answer was love.
