Tum mile

...Aadhya P.O.V. ...

"Dad, I said I am sorry!" I screamed banging the door of his room.
It's been more than an hour since we returned from the party and dad has been angry ever since I Back fired that not so sorry ass.

"Dad!" I yelled again. Slipping on the floor.
Now I was even more angry on that moron.

My mom walked out of the room and sat next to me as I pouted and made a puppy face.

"Mumma, mai kuch galat karti hu kya?"
(Do I do something wrong?) I sulked.

"No Ady, we are really proud of you and your social work, but we are your parents, we would never like someone badmouthing you! You are the crown of our head, we can't let anyone tarnish it right?" She inquired as I nodded.

"So I showed him his right place!" I countered.

"Which is even worse sweetheart!" She stated confusing me.

"Hukum and his family were are guests, they are really close to your dad. Hukum made an exception by coming for your father. You are feeling bad because unknowingly he pointed out your parents and their upbringing.
Just imagine how would he and his parents would have felt when you straight up faced him on the wrong front." She asked as I laid my head on her lap.

"I know you do not believe in the royal hierarchy, but you can't deny the fact that he is the Hukum of Udaipur and time and again he has proved that, subordinating which he definitely deserves the respect." She reprimanded.

"Will you forgive me if I apologise to his family?" I asked my dad shouting while my mom stiffled a laugh.

"You will?" he asked.

"Yes!"

"Will you meet the boy for marriage proposal?" He asked again.

"Fine!" I replied banging my head to the wall.

"Really?" Both my mom and dad shouted.

"Now the cats out of the bag!" I murmured looking at my dad.

"And you'll not go to Husn e Bazaar" he tried again.

"Now you're pushing it!" I deadpanned.

"Okay, fine!" He bargained.

"I ll fix an appointment for you for tomorrow!" Dad screamed like a little girl.

"It's Holi tomorrow!" I shouted back but that little girl was out of sight.

"Which is even better, you can now take the sweets we send there yearly." My mom said while I just nodded.

Great, another day to meet that moron.

........

"I am sorry!"
"I shouldn't have done what I did, I apologise!"
"Urgh! Why is this so difficult?" I screamed at my reflection in the mirror.
From past one hour I have been trying to practice how to apologise to the royal moron and his family but I just can't.

"Aadhya, I hope you are ready!" My mom enquired barging in my room.

"The sweets and gifts are in the car, please be back on time for the Holi celebration and you best behave!" She pointed out and I just gave her an overly sweet smile.

I was dressed in white Karachi work inspired pakistani dress, with my hair down and minimal makeup.

I walked to my car, putting in the Rathore address in Gps and starting off the road.

Because I believe there was some function going on I had to park my car outside on the rear end of the house.
Registering at the main gate with the watchman, I made my way inside with the sweet basket.

As soon as I entered through the door, I by mistakely stamped my feet in a bowl kept there filled with red water.
Stuck, having no other option I walked inside leaving my imprints along the way.

"Aaj ghar mei sakshat Lakshmiji aayi hai kya?" I heard a deep voice resonating, I turned around to find the eldest Ranaut, legacy of a man, now that's what I called a Hukum accompanied by a beautiful regal lady, I assume is his wife.

I bowed my head as a mark of respect touching their feet for blessings.

"Aadhya?" I heard a confused Senior Ranaut.

"Yes." I replied earnestly walking towards him to take his blessings too.

"Betiyan pair nahi chuti!" He said stopping me midway.

"Rathore had informed me that you'll be here." He said moving towards what seem like a living area.

The elder couple already seated.

"Uncle, this is for you! Mom sent it specifically." I informed handing over the basket.

"Oh Aashka is in town!" He enquired.

"For a while!" I informed.

The tension now was thick enough to cut it with a knife, they looked at me with questioning eyes as to why I was still here.

"Uncle, I really wanted to apologise!" I stated finally.

"Apologise for what sweetheart?" He asked.

"I never meant to disrespect your son yesterday, my anger just got the worst out of me." I said sincerely.

"Oh! That, it's alright!" He said with a wave of his hand as if it wasn't anything important.

"How is it alright Raj!" A heard a commanding voice taking over from the stairs, only to find Ranimaa in all her glory.

"They are kids, Richa, and sometimes you son needs a wack to reality." Sir stated.

"So you acknowledge the fact that you were wrong!" Ranimaa stated completely ignoring her husband.

"I wasn't wrong, just my way of displaying it was." I corrected.

"Why would you apologise then?" She questioned further.

"Because my mom often says, that you never apologise to prove yourself right or the other wrong, it's about the respect you hold for your counter.
Here, I hold immense respect for you, Sir and the elders." I pointed out still not backing.

I joined my hands apologizing again as I decided to leave, only to bang against a wall.
Oh it wasn't the wall.
It was the self obsessed Hukum.
He gave me a curt nod and I returned the same.

"What brings you here?"He asked smirking

"Hmm." I asked obviously distracted by his gorgeous eyes.

"Aap yaha Kaise?" He asked again

"Woh kya hai na Mera din bahot acha Jaa Raha tha, phir maine socha iska satyanash kaise kiya jaye toh aapka khayal aaya, tu chali aayi yaha!" I replied

"I am the Hukum!" He stated definitely offended.

"Oh really? Aur mai Ranisa!" I stated.

Ofcourse I was right he still wasn't coronated.
I tried to move past him but he held my hand pulling me back.
I have no idea where he got the colour but then he smeared it over my face smirking.

"Happy Holi Ranisa!"
