Chapter 6
When everyone came out of stone sleep, minus Demona, Ravage refused to leave his room still for quite some time, not willing to see that female again in case she took him back to his old clan.
Demona had to figure out what sort of story to tell to have Brooklyn see she was a 'good gargoyle.' She waited outside of the door for a while then knocked on it gently.
"Are you in there?" Demona asked, trying her best to keep her voice gentle even though it was hard. She heard movement, which sounded like Ravage was trying to hide.
Thailog was there too. Now that it had been a few days, they would be able to talk to Ravage better now that he had calmed down.
Ravage held himself on his bed, still shaking, as the door opened, revealing his father. He looked up, his eyes bright with fear, along with seeing that female again claiming to be his mother.
"Don't... let her near me, please..." Ravage said shakily, folding his wings around his shoulders, tears spilling out of his eyes.
Thailog raised his hand. "Easy, my little cherry. Angel here isn't the enemy. Let her explain."
The gargess had managed to come up with a story over the past days and was ready to shape Ravage's mind to her will at last with it. She was for sure a master of manipulation just like Thailog. Watching the fear fade from Ravage's eyes after hearing his trigger word, she took this moment and sat down.
Ravage gazed at her blankly, Demona beginning to tell him. "I truly am your mother, dear one. It is a long story, but I've searched long and far for you and your father." She placed a careful hand on Ravage's hand, but he didn't flinch away, still hypnotized by the word.
Demona soon began to tell her story, that Ravage was stolen from his old clan right from her arms by Goliath, raised to be mostly his slave/pet. He indoctrinated Ravage into believing that humans were good and wanted to accept them.
The red male was stunned, his ears twitching from the story. He had already known from his father that Goliath and his clan abused him, but... he was stolen? His heart thumped fast, panting a little while she continued.
"Me and Thailog had argued every day since then trying to find and get you back, dear. But this is why you haven't looked like any of the clan you were stolen by. Since I practiced magic, I had been able to cause us to live for a long time after finding you stone at night on top of Wyvern. It broke my heart to see you that way."
Ravage trembled, hearing how sad his mom was, her hand on his cheek, Thailog grinned silently, seeing how gullible Brooklyn was being now, crossing his arms. "Now that we're back together, Ravage, we can be a family again." Demona purred, also trying to sound hypnotic like Thailog did, which had Ravage melt slightly into her voice, feeling very motherly.
Her hands stroked his arms, until soon Ravage gave in, tears spilling and soon hugging his mother, Angel, who wrapped him into her wings, grinning sinisterly at the feeling of Brooklyn in her arms, winking at Thailog, who nodded back.
After all that, they left Ravage be for a time, Demona and Thailog stepping out but Thailog had a couple things to remind her. "I just want you to know; I got him first, Demona. You can share, but he is all mine." He whispered out of earshot.
Demona nodded; her arms crossed. "Anything you wish. Are you going to have him do anything soon?"
"I plan to have him rob for me in small places to start tomorrow. He has been training for quite some time, and I believe he is ready." Thailog informed, giving a soft evil laugh, which Demona rather liked.
Later in the night, Ravage had one time in the restroom washing his face saw how different his face was compared to his 'parents.' Rubbing his beak and looking at his own red skin, ears flat, knowing he had more questions for Angel, his mom.
He went out again to find her, and soon discovered Angel in the main room where Sevarius did most of his examination, seeing her turn to him.
"Hello, little one. I see you're feeling better. But something still seems to be troubling you." Demona said as softly as she still could, stroking Ravage's arm, enjoying this version of Brooklyn greatly.
"This may be a silly question, Mom, but... why does my face not look more like your human ones? I-I don't look normal..." Ravage said in a small voice, gazing down.
Demona's ears fell, before soon telling him. "All gargoyles were raised communally, Ravage. I was the one along with Thailog who took care of you the most after your real parents who probably had beaks gave birth to you. When you were stolen, and after the massacre of both of our clans, I was the only mother left for you." She said, a hand on his cheek now.
It made Ravage sniffle at the idea that his actual birth parents were now dead, but the feeling of the one who took care of him being here, it warmed his heart, wanting to always be with her and Thailog even more than before, nodding. "Ok. I'm still nervous about what Father would want me to do for him."
The female had her fake sinister smile on her face that thankfully Ravage didn't catch. "I'm sure you'll be strong enough to do the task, hatchling. Just be strong and destroy whoever stands in your way." She felt joy in being able to manipulating Ravage properly in this way.
....
On the big night of his first assignment, Thailog at first gave Ravage some food, which he accepted. Demona herself was out conversing with Anton at the moment to give Thailog and Ravage some privacy.
Thailog had an arm around his puppet. "Now, my little one, I have a liberation task that I wish for you to do for me."
Ravage swallowed some of his food, looking up in curiosity. "A... a task? Like what?"
The dark clone grinned. "There's a building out there that holds money which had been stolen. I need you to bring it here to me, understand, cherry? It may look like a bank, but it really is a disguise."
It caused the red gargoyle's eyes to dim, slowly nodding obediently. "Anything... Master tells me to do..." He mumbled, Thailog stroking under his chin. "Hm, very good. You will head out around 10:30, which isn't that long away."
Through his daze Brooklyn managed to finish his meal, still nodding. "Alright." He got up, the two walking to the window of the lab. Demona was there, smiling encouragingly at her 'son,' who grinned brainlessly back from Thailog's control, jumping onto the windowsill.
"Remember to use your talons to take out the humans, Ravage. Don't show any weakness to the evil guards!" Growled Thailog softly, Ravage again nodding rather obediently, raising his wings after Thailog gave him an earpiece to stay in contact.
"Have to... obey..." Ravage muttered, turning to the sky, taking off into the night, and heading to the bank where Thailog directed him to go. This was his first time out in the city, but because of his hypnotized state, Ravage had a hard time being able to enjoy it all.
His wings took him to what looked like the Manhattan Bank, hearing Thailog's voice in his earpiece. "There's the building, dear cherry. They'll have plenty of security, so make sure you get whatever you can grab from the vaults to safety."
Ravage nodded. "Ok..." He slurred, the trigger word having him going to climb a wall towards a window that he would know was on the way to one of the money vaults. He scratched one windowpane open, peeking inside.
There were a couple guards around a vault door, just like he knew there would be, grinning lightly while creeping in, using the stealth tactics Thailog taught him, which had him mostly sneak around in the shadows. He crept up to one guard, smacking his head hard, taking him down, then the other one but held his collar.
"Ah! Let-let me go! I'll do anything!" The guard wailed, Ravage having his eyes glowing dangerously, Thailog feeling intense pleasure of hearing his puppet's dangerous growl not like his usual normal ones.
"What is the combination? Time to take back the money you and your kind stole!" Ravage hissed, causing the guard to blabber out both the combination and the access to disarming the alarm systems. With his new info, Ravage went up to the vault door, ensuring the alarm wouldn't engage first before he soon finally got it open, grinning, hoping his father would be proud.
Ravage filled his bags with as much money as he could, the guards, who were awake but wounded staring in disbelief. One of them actually recognized the red male he sometimes saw gliding around the city. Why would he want money to begin with? This was something to report.
After he did his deed, Ravage hauled the two bags he got, giving a little smirk to the guards. "This money doesn't belong here; I will be bringing it back to its rightful owner now." He raised his wings, taking into the air back home, leaving them all dumbstruck for a while.
Thailog waited at Gen U Tech, Demona there as well, eager to get the money, until he spotted a red figure in the distance. It was his little Ravage. He smiled but was also angry, angry that Ravage didn't do any kind of killing. The runt obviously still had his original softness when it came to fighting crime while he was Brooklyn.
Ravage glided through the window, landing with the money and seeing Thailog, placing them before him. "I did what you said, Father, I got the money back for you." He said with a small grin but then it faltered at how mad he seemed.
"I told you... to do away with the guards, not just knock them out. You disobeyed me, little cherry." Thailog hissed darkly, standing intimidatingly over Ravage who flinched, his eyes glazing, then suddenly looking pleading.
"Please... I'm-I'm sorry I... I'll do better!" Ravage begged, kneeling down in a worshiping way. Thailog's face softened after that, taking Ravage's chin gently in his hand, stroking it. "I'll let you off, but you get no dinner tonight. Now go to your room and I won't let you out until you are more willing to completely obey my orders."
Ravage nodded, tears in his eyes, looking towards Demona, who furrowed her brows in disapproval. She had wanted to see Brooklyn kill a human and he had failed. They would have to do even more to break him into doing so.
His feet shuffled along the floor miserably as Ravage went into his room, still feeling hungry after all that action but knew he wouldn't be offered any kind of food. Ravage closed the door, sitting on his bed. His father wanted him to be fierce and unstoppable in any battle, no matter what he did. Wiping the tears away, Ravage inside decided he wouldn't be so gentle on humans next time if all it got him was getting into trouble.
