Chapter 2

Brooklyn whimpered when he hid under his blankets, not liking how red looking the dark colored monster's eyes were. His wings ached too, which made him scared if the dark monster had hurt him.

Thailog took a hold of Brooklyn's arm. "Stop your fidgeting!" He snapped, hearing Brooklyn's sobbing in his ears.

The young male squirmed in his hold. "Get your hands off me!" Brooklyn shrilled, his wiped memory making him act all paranoid, yanking his arm out of Thailog's hold and quickly scrambling out of his bed, running for his life.

Anton's eyes widened. "Don't let him destroy my equipment!" He shouted. Thailog grabbed a sedative and going to get his prisoner back, not wanting a mind-wiped gargoyle on the loose and for Goliath to find him.

Brooklyn kept running about in the lab, his eyes bulging from his head, wondering in vain who he was and what the monster holding him hostage was, longing to get away from here and find more friendly company and find out who he really was.

His muscles felt strained from his fighting earlier as he kept running, sometimes bumping into walls and knocking over things. Thailog lunged to grab him, instantly gripping his arm tight.

The mind wiped male gasped, struggling when seeing the red eyed monster again. "No! Let me go! Let me... go!" He wound up slurring, for Thailog at that moment had stuck the sleeping serum into his arm, watching his victim going into a heavy snooze, collapsing right in his arms.

Thailog stroked the sleeping Brooklyn with the back of his hand. "You'll thank me later, little one. We have a lot to discuss the next night." He carried Brooklyn back to the bed, Anton looking relieved that Thailog had managed to catch him. But Thailog had some other questions.

"I don't wish for his amnesia to go away, Doctor. Will you be able to come up with something he could take now to keep it from doing so?" Thailog asked, glaring hard at Sevarius, who wound up nodding.

"It shouldn't take me too long to make. But we should probably chain him in case he panics again tomorrow night." Sevarius proclaimed, which Thailog had no objection to, going to get some chains and tying Brooklyn's hands, feet, and tail down to the bed. It was right on time as the sun started to come up, Thailog and Brooklyn both turning to stone while Sevarius went to do his part in making the serum, eager to explore what it was like for a gargoyle to have no memories at all.

...

Meanwhile, back at the clocktower, Goliath waited as long as he could for Brooklyn to return from his solo mission, wondering what was keeping his second in command, hoping nothing bad had happened to him.

The others had returned from their own solo missions and Lexington looked around for his red brother. "Where's Brooklyn? Didn't you send him on his own patrol?" He asked Goliath, who nodded.

"I'm sure he's found a place to roost for the day. But if he still doesn't come back, we'll all go and look for him." Goliath proclaimed since now he saw all three of the younger gargoyles as his own hatchlings, and never wanted any of them to be in danger, praying Brooklyn would be safe somehow, staring off into the distance.

Hudson noticed this, taking Goliath's hand. "The lad will be alright. He's tougher than he seems to be." The brown gargoyle said to the leader, who sighed, folding his wings, wondering now if Brooklyn really did find a spot to sleep.

Elisa herself would keep an eye out for Brooklyn's statue during the day while the clan slept in stone, promising she would bring him back in one piece.

...

Throughout the day, Sevarius worked hard in making that serum Thailog requested. He knew this would take a week to make but since Thailog was very demanding, Sevarius stepped up his game to have it finished quickly.

After he finished by nightfall, Sevarius also got out some juice to pour the serum into to trick Brooklyn into drinking it, setting it down on the table nearby and waited for Thailog and their guest to wake up.

The skin on the gargoyles cracked, eyes glowing, as the two of them yawned/roared then settled. Brooklyn, however, as he felt his hands chained down to the bed, his eyes widening, screaming again when seeing the same monster from last night, squirming to escape.

Thailog mostly smiled, doing his best in his nature to not look so frightening, Brooklyn in his mind-wiped head sobbing and wanting to get out of wherever he was.

"NO! Oh, stayâ stay away! Unchain me!" screamed Brooklyn, tears flooding down his face, wondering where the monster came from, and wanted someone to save him. The monster's black hand touched his arm, making Brooklyn shiver, shutting his eyes, breathing fast.

Thailog smiled further. "You should not have to fear me, little one. I only chained you for your safety, just for a few moments since I will soon set you free. Do you promise not to run away if I do?"

Brook swallowed, gazing into the devilish eyes of the creature, still terribly wary, not remembering his own name or his life. But perhaps the monster in front of him was the key to helping him remember. He timidly nodded, sniffling.

The clone looked satisfied, now going to unchain the cuffs of his guest, who sat up nervously, rubbing his wrists. "W-What could a monster want with someone like me, whoever I am?" Brooklyn murmured; his eyes sore from crying.

Thailog took his head in his hand. "I am the one who will help you remember your old life." He lied in a honey-coated way, next taking the juice cup in his other hand. "But for now, you look rather thirsty, hatchling."

Brooklyn accepted the cup but twitched his ears. "Why are you calling me a hatchling?" He asked, heart beating.

"Because you are what I am, a gargoyle. We are fierce creatures of the night who turn to stone during the day." Thailog explained, while Brooklyn had a drink of his juice/serum.

His brain suddenly felt a little dizzy, Brooklyn putting his hand to it while he continued to drink. "G-Gargoy... les?" Brook mumbled, brain feeling rather funny, looking at his wings while the mind-numbing serum did its job.

Thailog nodded. "Yes. We are even able to fly as well. Glide mostly more than flying like birds. I have so much to teach you."

Brooklyn though had another question, the fuzziness still in his head after finishing his drink. "What about... about my name? Do I have one? And do I have a family?" He asked.

Thailog thought for a moment before suddenly having an idea. "Not technically. I also had been the one who saved you while you were passed out. Your family, however, were the ones responsible for your amnesia."

It made Brook's eyes widen in disbelief. "W-what?" He whimpered, gripping his blankets, feeling his heart break at the thought of really having a family but one that hurt him. Thailog had a fake sympathetic look on his features, seeing tears on Brooklyn's face beginning to fall down.

"You are safe here with me now. I can teach you how to be a proper gargoyle and to defend yourself." Thailog claimed, doing his best to keep up his nice demeanor and hope that Brooklyn wouldn't get his memory back.

The red male curled up on the bed, wondering if he could really trust this 'gargoyle,' and wanting to know more about his family that abused him. "Canâ Can you tell me more of what my family was like?" He questioned softly, Thailog thinking hard on what kind of story he could tell the red male.

"Your family was a clan of gargoyles who once lived in the year 994. But they never treated you right. And you, along with your clan never had names back then. A wizard cursed you into stone sleep for 1,000 years." Thailog started, knowing he had Brooklyn in his grasp.

It had Brook's eyes round in surprise that he once used to live in the past. "Goliath and his clan had stolen you back then too. When you all woke again in this time zone, they gave you a name. But Goliath sought to give you one that made you weak, so they can have better control over you." Thailog continued, which had Brooklyn's eyes fill with further tears, sniffling at the thought of his 'family' that had kidnapped him in the first place.

Thailog put a gentle hand on Brooklyn's cheek. "I found you knocked out on the streets after they did their daily dose of beating you and rescued you. Because I am your real family, little one." Thailog purred, which had a small spark come in Brooklyn's eyes.

"Y-You?" Brooklyn asked, wiping his eyes at the idea of this red-eyed one being his true clan.

Thailog nodded. "I am. And I wish to help you. Even give a new name to help make you strong."

His eyes brightened, happy that his 'real' family had found him finally, as Thailog thought of a name to give to his new guest. Soon, he thought of one. "How about Ravage? It is a strong tough name." Thailog suggested.

Brook considered for a moment, before he nodded. "Ravage. Yeah. I-I like that. Thanks for s-saving me, uh..."

Thailog chuckled. "I am known as Thailog. I shall be your new leader. And maybe even a father too."

It made Brooklyn know thinking of himself as Ravage think some more, liking the idea of having a real father around him. "O-Ok. I'll stay with you. I don't want to go near that clan anymore!" Ravage stated, his eyes full of pain, wanting now for the clan to pay for hurting him.

The dark clone smiled silently inside; happy that he was able to sway this one over to his side, stroking Ravage's shoulder. "Tomorrow should be an even better day for us, my sweet Ravage. You will have your own room, and I will teach you how to fight and re-glide."

Ravage glanced at his wings. "I can't glide with these, can I? I was lucky I still knew how to breathe." The red male asked, face nervous now.

Thailog chuckled. "Don't worry about it for now. Some stone sleep should help ease your stress." Thailog then stroked Ravage's forehead, who lay down.

"Have a good stone sleep, dear son." Thailog purred again, enjoying this manipulation all too much, excited to control this beaked male further, Ravage's eyes closing until the stone sleep covered them both much later.
