Im going to shout out to Wozabel for the amazing comment on chapter 7 "Please I'm in need of a good book and I've read this one three times! Xxxxxxxx" 3 times?! That's amazing and I love you! Whenever I get a comment about how I need to update I just feel all warm and fuzzy inside! On with the chapter!

The first person to arrive was Jason.

He wasn't in his guard uniform but in a blue polo shirt with tan jeans. Nice casual cloths for the party

I noticed him before Percy did, he was concentrating on setting up the speakers

"Morning Jace"

He nodded to me "Morning Annabeth"

Noticing me talking to someone Percy looked up at Jason. He faced went from confusion to relief to anger

"What the hades man?"

Jason seemed as confused as I was "What did I do?"

"You were meant to help set up!" Percy waved his hands around, gesturing to the party he had set up

"I was?"

Percy nodded

"Well you were meant to meet me to help sort this thing out but no! Your to busy doing that stupid paper!" Jason stepped closer to Percy

Percy stepped closer to Jason, they were both in each other's faces now.

"That stupid paper was about kids in less fortunate situations getting clean clothes and water!"

"Oh" Jason took a step back

"Yeah oh"

Taking a step closer to them I put my hand on their chests "Well done Jason for organising this awesome party, good job Percy for setting this up. Jason can you set up the speakers? Percy's having a hard time with that. And Perce? Where's the present?"

"In my room, I'll run up and get it"

Percy jogged over to the doors and disappeared around the corner while I went over to the speakers with Jason

"You know it getting harder to see him now" Jason told me as he bent over to look at the speakers

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Well, like he said just before, he had a paper that he had to do so he couldn't help me. He's getting more work from Sally and Paul to get ready to take the top job. Plus with the new 35 girls in the palace I won't get to see him much until this is over"

I patted his back "Yeah I guess, but it will be good from him, us and the rest of the country. Once he finds someone he'll spend time with you"

He huffed "He's had someone he's loved in front of him since he was born"

I was confused "What do you-" but I was cut off by loud music

Jason had managed to set up the speakers

"Turn it down! The other Selected will here it!"

He quickly turned it down and stood up

I was about to ask what he meant again when Percy came back jogging with a present in his hands

"What is it?" I asked him

"Personalised reed pipes. I know his old ones are falling apart"

I took the present out of his hands and put it on the table where the food was

"Do I sense a party?" Someone yelled from around the corner.

Some a figure came to match the voice

Leo Valdez

He was out of his uniform too, sporting a red top and jeans. He walked over and greeted us all

"The party's just getting started when the McShizzle is here"

Leo's is one of the guards as well, he's Jason's best friend and calls himself Leo McShizzle Bad Boy Supreme.

He looks like a scrawny Latino elf, how he's still a guard is beyond me, he can't really fight but he's amazing at placing traps around the palace and building new armour.

"No one is even here yet Leo" I pointed out

"But now people will come because I'm here" And to prove his point he turned back around to the doors and pointed at two new figures walking across the garden

"You were just lucky Repair Boy" Jason said

Leo shrugged and went to greet the two new people

The Stoll brothers, known as the best prankers in Angeles. You would think they are twins, but they are not. Travis is older and you can tell because he is slightly taller than Connor. They both have brown brown and blue eyes

Before they were right in front of us I heard Travis talking "What do you mean we put the birthday surprises on the wrong side of the garden?"

"Boys! Glad you could make it!" Leo greeted them and clapped them on the back

"Why wouldn't we come? Free food!" Connor pointed to the table with food on it whilst Travis nodded eagerly

"And not for Grover?" I asked

They both looked at me and cracked a grin "Well isn't it Miss Selected! Look at you, all fancy" Travis walked around me looking at my dress

"I have to wear dresses, it's part of the deal"

"Hey mate?" Connor turned to Percy "Can we have the left over girls?"

I slapped him on the arm "We're not toys!"

Connor shook his head "Wait, I don't want this one, she bites" The boys laughed while I just glared at them

"Like this one will get sent home" Travis pointed out

"What do you mean?" Percy asked

"Well you two love each other! Anyone can see that! I'm looking at the future King and Queen"

Both Percy and I blushed and looked away

"Awww" Connor squealed "I ship it"

Trying to change the topic of my love life with Percy I asked some questions "So when and how is Grover getting here? Does he know what's happening or is it a surprise?"

Percy, grateful for the topic change, answered my questions "Juniper is bringing him and it's a surprise party. I think this is everyone, mum wanted it small" Juniper is Grover's girlfriends. She goes to a gardening school in the city and they came to the palace gardens as an excursion. That's were they meet each other, Grover is a gardener here and he was working on some rose bushes when she asked him a question. They soon hit it off and now they were coming close to their one year anniversary.

Some ten to fifteen minutes later we heard voices coming from around the corner

"I don't understand Jup, what's going on?"

"That's them! Move behind the tables!" Percy whispered yelled as he pointed to the tables. The six of us quickly dived behind the tables as we heard Juniper giggle "I told you it's a surprise"

They rounded the corner and I looked above the table

Grover was being lead towards us with a blindfold on with Juniper behind him holding him on the shoulders. She was wearing a lovely white Greek style dress with a beautiful flower crown around her head. Grover was wearing his favourite orange shirt with brown shorts on.

I made eye contact with Juniper and smiled at her, which she returned. I quickly ducked back and looked over at Percy who was getting ready to count down.

"SURPRISE!" We all yelled as we jumped up and threw our hands in the air (like we just don't care, sorry. Had to do that)

Grover face morphed into complete shock and happiness "Oh Gods, guys!"

We all made our way over to Grover to give him birthday hugs and greetings

Percy went first, seeing as they were best friends

"Happy Birthday G-Man!"

"Thanks Perce"

Jason, Travis and Connor hugged him and wished him happy birthday too

"Happy Birthday Grover" I moved in for a hug

"Thanks Annabeth, who set this up?"

I pulled back from the hug and hugged Juniper "Jason and Percy"

"Hey Annabeth" Juniper greeted me

"Hey"

"Look at him" She gestured to Grover who was over at the food table with the boys "He's so happy. Percy and Jason have done a great job"

I smiled at her "Yeah, they have"

Lots of food, dancing, laughing and talking later Percy shouted over the music "Cake!"

We all stopped at that amazing word and looked over at the door. Sally was just coming out carrying a large plate with a cake. As she got closer to us I realised that the cake wasn't cake, put a large stack of enchiladas

"Enchiladas!" Grover cried as Sally set the plate in front of him at the table

"Happy Birthday Grover" She wished him as she stood back and wrapped an arm around Percy

"Thanks Sally"

"1,2,3...."

After our happy birthday song, before we jumped straight into the enchiladas (I think Grover actually wanted to jump in them) Percy got his present and brought it over for him to open

It was wrapped in very neat, Not done by Percy, in tie die wrapping paper

When Grover saw the new reed pipes he gasped "Thank you so much guys! There amazing"

He was just about to play a tune for us when a two guards came running over

"Your Majesty" The older one greeted Sally "Rebels, we have to move you into the safe room"

As soon as the words Rebel and safe room were said everyone was on high alert. Quickly the guards started to move Sally towards the doors as Percy grabbed my hand and pulled me to follow him. Jason grabbed the Stolls and started running after us, with Leo, Juniper and Grover behind them. 

We quickly ran up to the palaces doors as the alarm went off, signifying the rest of the palace to the danger we were in

As in got into the main hallway I could here screams of palace staff, rebels and the Selected as they ran to safe rooms and into the enemy

"Remind me to never were heels and run" I panted out to Percy

He shook his head and chuckled as we turn the corner to another hallway.

We didn't get very far because Percy stuck his arm out and pulled me back around. Gun shots went off towards our direction as we pressed ourselves against the wall

"Were are the others?" I whispered

"They must have run to different safe room. Mums probably gone underground. We need to get to the Royal Family room. Paul and the other Selected will be there"

I nodded as he stuck his head around the corner to see if the Rebels were there. Gun shots came our way as he pulled back his head

We both looked around us for a way out of this, we were in a dead end hallway, with no alive guards to shoot the Rebels. The windows were all smashed, with pieces of glass covering the floor.

I could feel the walls vibrating from the noise around us and parts of the palace collapsing

Percy put his hand on my shoulder and whispered "Don't move" He quickly ran over to a fallen guard and took his gun out of his holster, he ran to another guard and grabbed his guns as well. He came back over and passed me one of the guns "Don't shoot unless your sure it's a Rebel, try not to kill to many"

I weakly nodded and held the gun up to eye level. He held up three fingers and counted down. We quickly ran around the corner and I aimed my gun, pulled the trigger at multiple rebels and followed Percy further down the hall

With adrenaline rushing through my body and the sound of blood pumping in my hears, we made our way to the safe room. We ran past smashed windows, abandoned weapons, walls crumbling and fallen Rebels, guards or palace staff

We ran past a shot maid, lying on the floor with blood surrounding her. The sudden fear of losing one of my maids or palace staff friends made me slow down. To stay with me Percy fell back with me

"Are you alright?"

"My maids? What will happen?"

"Annabeth, they'll get to the safe room. We can find them when it's safe, I promise"

I nodded and we moved again. We double checked there was no one there and ran to the end of a dead end hallway. I stood guard as Percy ran his hand over the wall looking for the switch that would open the door.

"Got it" We heard a click and he held the door open for me. Moving quickly pass him I ran down the stairs leading down to the safe room. I could still hear all the noise coming from the chaos upstairs but I could hear more clearly the sobbing of girls as we neared the safe room

I quietly laughed to myself

"Why are you laughing at a time like this?" Percy asked from behind me

"Just thinking of you having to comfort all those girls in there"

Even though I couldn't see Percy's face, I could tell he wasn't comfortable with comforting crying girls

We came to the end of the stairs and jogged down the dimly lit hallway towards the large steel door of the safe room. Two guards for stationed in front of the door

"Your highness" They both greeted Percy

"Is everyone here?" He asked

"Yes sir" Percy nodded his thanks as the guards closed the door behind us

In the safe room, cots were set up along one side of the room. There were only five beds total, I guess the staff didn't think we'd have a Rebel Attack on day 3. In the corners of the room, different groups of the Selected were huddled together, comforting each other and sobbing into each other shoulders. On the cots sat the royal family. Zoe was sleeping in Sally's lap, Sally had her head on Paul's shoulder. Next to Paul sat Tyson, trying to read but he couldn't concentrate, looking off into know where. They all had worried faces on, wondering g if their eldest son and brother would make it.

Percy and I immediately made our way over to them. When Sally noticed us she quickly moved Zoe off her and rushed to us. She grabbed Percy and I into a bone crushing hug

"Aww, my babies. Thank the gods you're safe. Are you hurt? What took you so long?"

She pulled back from the hug as Paul came over, relief written all over his face

"No we're not hurt. As we rounded a corner rebels shot at us. I managed to get some guns from fallen guards. We had to shot our way here"

The crushing guilt of killing someone fell on me. I've lived with these Rebels attacks, they happen more frequently than the public know, but I've never had to kill someone. I know that I killed at least three rebels with my own hands. I quickly wrapped my arms around Percy's waist and rested my head on his chest. Being taller than me he rested his chin on my head

"Hey, it's okay Wise Girl. These people are breaking laws, it was self defence"

Hearing his steady heartbeat and his words started to lift the weight off of me. He was right, these people were breaking the law, threatening me, my friends, family and home. I fought back

We pulled back from the hug and he kissed my forehead "I better go check on the other girls, go lay down with Zoe. I'll come and see you soon"

He walked off over into the direction of some of the more less composed girls in the back corner. Sally and Paul wrapped an arm around me leading me over to were Zoe and Tyson were still sitting

"Honey, by taking those lives, you saved hundreds of others. Not just here but around the country. One for hundreds. Remember that" Paul told me whilst Sally nodded

I just him a weak smile and sat next to Tyson who was still straying off into know where

"You okay Big Guy?" I asked him

Noticing me for the first time he smiled at me "Yeah, just thinking"

Seeing he didn't want to talk more I didn't ask questions. I scanned the crowd of girls on the other side of the room. I quickly found Percy comforting a blubbering Nancy Bobofit. I also found Piper leaning against the wall with her eyes closed

I excused myself from the Royal family and made my way over to Piper

"You okay Piper?" I asked

She jumped and placed her hand on her heart "Annabeth! You startled me!"

"Sorry"

"All good, I'm okay. I was walking in the halls on my way to the Women's room when the alarm went off. A guard quickly took me down here. Does this happen often?"

I nodded "Probably once or twice every two weeks. Some times they come all gung ho and sometimes their quiet. You'll get used to it" I patted her arm

We both sat down on the cold hard floor and quietly talked. Crashes and gun fire could be heard muffled through the walls, and the sounds of crying and sobbing had started to quiet down, thanks to Percy. Girls were talking quietly with each other or trying to get some sleep on the makeshift cots (Just blankets and pillows on the floor)

Percy made his way over to us "Ladies, I see were all good here. Lady Piper, how are you feeling now?" He squatted down to meet our eye level

"Very well, thank you your highness. Annabeth's helped calm down my nerves"

Percy nodded and looked to me "And your okay?"

"Yeah. Do you know which room Jason and Grover ran into?"

He shook his head "No, all that planning and setting up for the Rebels to crash the party"

Piper gave us a confused look but I was too worried about our friends "Yeah, he didn't even get to play a tune on his new reed pipes"

"Don't worry, once this is over you'll here him playing from garden on the fourth floor. I'm starting to regret getting him new ones"

We laughed together "Well, I better go back to my family. I haven't offered this to anyone else, but if you need a sleep you can use Tyson and I's cots over there" He nodded over to were the cots were

"Thanks"

He nodded to us both again and walked over to his brother

"Want to get some rest?" I asked Piper

"I think it might help" She nodded

We both got up and made our way to the cots

Even though it was only just after lunch time, with the adrenaline leaving me and the guilt of killing someone, as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was sound asleep.

Some important news guys, IM GOING TO ITALY. This Saturday I'm flying out so no updates until the first week of April! I'm sorry guys! I'll try and write chapters when I get the chance, that way it will be a quick update when I get back.

I've just finished ready The Elite and The One for the second time. I'm re-reading so I can make notes and perfect my plans for this story! I'm kinda in a book hangover now. I don't know what to do with myself, I'm so in love with Maxon, I can't breath! He's just perfect! WHERE CAN I BUY A MAXON SCHREAVE?!?!?

So Leo, Grover, Juniper, Travis and Connor were introduced in this chapter! Are you happy? The first Rebel Attack has happened as well! How did I write it? Do you like it? Did you enjoy the party?
