I was tagged! My first tag! I'm so excited! I'll put it at the end of this chapter!

I woke up feeling all bubbly inside. Today was the day, a date with my best friend

I've been looking forward to actually spending time with him, labelled as a date for years. My feelings for Percy started when I was twelve, now I'm 17, and it's finally happening

Hazel was excited too. She's also been waiting for this day since she met the two of us. On the day we met when Percy and I both could hear she squealed to herself 'I ship it' Which I still don't understand to this day

Justine had set up a soothing bath for me, which I spent a good 20 minutes in

Alicia did my hair in a beautiful style and Hazel picked out a floor length dress

Just before I was about to leave Hazel stopped me "Annabeth? Don't eat lots at breakfast. Word on the street is that he's got a picnic ready for you"

Excitement bubbled under my skin

I was ready to go to breakfast. On my way out the door, Silena was coming out of her door next to me

She was wearing a lovely lace light pink dress, her hair was done up into a bun on top of her head

"Morning Silena"

She noticed me and looked up "Morning Annabeth"

We started walking down the hall, making our way to the dining room

"How was your date yesterday?" I asked

She smiled and looked up at the ceiling "He's amazing, it was amazing"

I raised an eyebrow "Yeah?"

She nodded her head "Yeah" She then went into detail of what happened, and this time I didn't feel jealousy or an uneasiness creeping inside of me because I was going on a date today too

"Have a good day" I said and we parted ways. I made my way down to my seat at the table

Piper was already there but Reyna wasn't

"Morning Pipes"

She glared at her nickname "Morning Annie"

And I have her a glare in return

"Why are you so happy today?" She asked

"I have a date" I started to swing my legs under the table like a little kid

"Wow"

I nodded "Yeah wow. How was yours yesterday?"

She sighed and rested her chin in her hand "Fabulous, he's really funny and romantic" I nodded as she continued "Definitely impressed"

I patted her on the shoulder "Good, I'm glad"

"Ladies!" Sarah called out, we all turned to her as she pointed to the door

A few seconds later the doors opened and the royal family entered and we stood

My eyes immediately drifted to Percy. He was in a suit and from far away his tie looked suspiciously the same colour as my dress

He met my eyes and I smiled. He smiled in return

I took a deep breath, good, he hadn't changed his mind

Sally didn't have a big smile on her face like I thought she would "Good Morning Ladies, please take a seat"

Now that I look, Tyson was happy but Paul looked the same as Sally. Solemn. Maybe Percy didn't tell them? I thought they were rooting for me. This started my uneasiness for the day

Butlers bustled around the room bringing fruit and pastries for us to eat

Piper and I small talked whilst she ate. About halfway through the meal Sally stood up and cleared her throat

We all stopped our talking and faced her "Sorry to interrupt but Lady Annabeth" She looked over at me "Could you come see me before dinner?"

I nodded my head as she sat down. I got curious glances from the other girls. I'm sure it's nothing but if the Queen called on someone else they would have been scared out of their pants

Piper gave me a side glance as she cut open her custard danish "Wonder what that's about"

"Probably to fangirl about my date today"

We tried to suppress a laugh at my bluntness but it didn't work. Soon we were clutching our stomachs and smacking the table

I caught Percy watching me. He was smiling and had a twinkle in his eyes

Girls started to leave in pairs heading back to their rooms or to the woman's room

Piper and I left to go to my room because, and I quote "Need some girl talk before the date"

When we went to my room Justine was dusting my bookshelf and Alicia and Hazel were setting up a card game

"Oh, Lady Annabeth" Justine turned around from her dusting to face us "How was breakfast?"

I went over to my bed and sat down, Piper following "Eventful as always. Justine, this is my new friend Piper. Piper that's Hazel and Alicia"

I pointed over to the girls who nodded their heads to Piper

"Pleased to meet you my lady" Justine curtsied

"And you too"

Piper and I talked more, the girls imputing their opinions every now and then

Soon Hazel called me "Um, Annabeth"

"Yeah?" I asked

"Perce is going to be here soon so..."

"Oh!" Piper jumped up from the bed "I should go then. Tell me everything later Annabeth. See ya girls"

When Piper was out the door Alicia hurried me over to the mirror "What do you need to do? I think I look fine"

Alicia shrugged "But we don't want you to look fine, you gotta look jaw-dropping"

And they went to work

About 15 minutes late there was a knock at the door

"Do you want me to get it?" Hazel asked

I stood up from my stool "No, it's okay. I'll get it"

I made my way to the door and was about to open when I froze. My hand was just on the doorknob, all I had to do was turn it

But what the Hades was I doing? Going on a date? I've never been on a date, and I've only ever kissed one boy. And that said boy is waiting on the other side of the door

What if it's awkward? What if it doesn't work out? What if he sends me home and our friendship is ruined?

Percy knocked again and put some sense in me

He wouldn't be here if he didn't like me. We wouldn't be here if I didn't like him.

I opened the door and there he stood. My breath catches in my throat. Was he always this handsome?

As always he was wearing a smart looking suit, his tie though was white with stripes, the same colour as my dress. He saw me looking at it and laughed "Lucky guess"

I raised my eyebrow at him to question but he shrugged his shoulders

I dropped my arms down to my side and waited. Waiting for what, I wasn't sure. Does he hold my hand? Do I move out first?

Seeming to realise that he was meant to do something he held his arm so I could slip mine through

I have one last weary smile to the girls behind me, who looked like they wanted to burst, and slipped my hand through his arm

"You've quieted down from breakfast this morning" We started to move down the hall

"I'm afraid that if I talk I might puke" I rubbed my neck

He chuckled "Am I that bad?"

I immediately shook my head "No, no. You look fine, great even" He raised an eyebrow and I blushed "I'm just nervous"

"Huh. What are you nervous about?"

I raised my free arm and dropped it "What am I not nervous about? You, me, us, this. What if this is terrible? What if this doesn't work out? What if this ruins us? Is there even an us?"

We stopped and he placed a finger on my lips to keep me from talking. He came in close, kissing close and whispered "If things go the way I want, there will be an us"

I smiled at him as he kissed my forehead

We kept on walking "Do you need a puke bucket?" He asked

I shook my head

This will work out

Percy guided me down the front steps and into the gardens. "I thought that we could have a go at the labyrinth" I rolled my eyes. I've been playing in that labyrinth since I could walk. Percy held up one finger "Tsk Tsk Annabeth. Let me finish. I thought we could have a go at the labyrinth, blindfolded and our legs tied together" I blinked, I could easily do it blindfolded, but not tied together with a fish

I was about to complain but he continued "In the middle, I've set up a delicious picnic. You up for it?"

I nodded my head. This was just another challenged to get through

Soon we were at the entrance to the labyrinth

The labyrinth was basically a massive maze, with high edges as walls and a beautiful small area in the middle.

Percy and I used to have races when we were younger and less busy

Waiting at the entrance were the Stoll brothers. When we got closer they both bowed dramatically. Travis had two blindfolds in his hands and Connor had a piece of cloth ready to tie our legs together

"Your highness'" Travis greeted us

"Get up you two," I told them

They quickly got up "Take a joke Annabeth, jeez. Better not joke around her when she can chop off our heads" Connor nudge Travis

I rolled my eyes as Travis stepped forward "I bring thee two blindfolds"

Percy chuckled as Travis put on our blindfolds

"I don't trust them. What if they steal something whilst we're blindfold?"

"They won't Wise Girl. There getting a take-home basket of mums cookies"

"Best cookies ever!" Connor exclaimed. I could feel him tying the piece of cloth around Percy and my's legs.

"No cheating, either of you. Don't kiss blindfolded and no making babies" Travis told us in a serious tone

My face flamed bright red at his comments. I could feel Percy going red too

"I love it when they blush" Connor cooed

I felt a hand in my hand, glad to have Percy here

I felt one of the boy's hand on my back guided Percy and I over to the entrance

It was very tricky and took us some try's to walk with three legs. But we eventually got it, without any help may I add. Just the sound of two boys laughing next to us

"Good-" Connor couldn't finish his sentence as he started laughing again

I turned to were I thought Percy was "Why them?"

I could feel him shrug "They just turned up this morning"

And with the noise of two hysterical laughter behind us, we plunged into the labyrinth

"Where are we?" I asked

Percy and I had been walking for 20 minutes and I had completely lost my bearings

He laughed "I have no idea Annabeth. Your meant to be the Wise Girl"

"And your the Seaweed Brain"

"That I am"

We continued walking to which I think was west when I tripped over a small piece of stone "Ow!"

I feel to the ground with a thud, Percy practically falling on top of me

"Seaweed Brain!"

He didn't respond, but I could feel his hot breath on my face

I moved my head up and our foreheads connected with a big thud

"Styx!" Percy rolled over and laid next to me. I started to rub my forehead

This was ridiculous, hilarious but ridiculous

So I started to laugh, and I couldn't stop

Percy joined in too. Two teenagers in fancy clothes, completely blind and tied together, laughing hysterically

Anyone who would have walked in on us now would think that we were meant to be locked away

After finally calming down we stood up, with great difficulty

"You okay Wise Girl?"

I smiled, "Doing great"

"What did you trip on?"

I bent down running my hands along the ground. They eventually found a large rock "A large rock"

Percy bent down beside me and ran his hand down my arm so he could find the rock too. Goosebumps erupted on my skin

"I think I know where we are"

I raised my eyebrows under my blindfold "Yeah?"

I heard him nod and we stood up. He grabbed my hand "This way" and started walking to which I think is south

We continued walking and talking. Just about what he's been doing lately and my new books that I've read

"The Rebels ruined some of my blueprints"

"Oh, major damage or can you fix them?"

"I'll have to redraw them"

We turned a corner "They ripped down my photo board and ripped out some pages of my biology book"

I patted his back "I don't know how they can ruin books"

Percy laughed

We continued turning corners and slowly I started to regain my sense of direction

"Which way?" Percy asked

"Left"

We went left and walked about another 10m before I heard the sound of water "Found it!" I laughed and dragged Percy to the small clearing in the middle

I turned to face him, as much as I could, and I took off his blindfold. He did the same to me

I looked down at his suit "Your mums going to kill us!"

He had dirt covered all over his pants and jacket. I looked down at mine, I had dirt covering mine as well

Percy bent down and untied out legs, to which I stretched mine

I looked around at the clearing

This area would be in my top five favourite places in the palace

In the middle was a large willow tree, it's branches and leaves creating a little hid out and shade underneath. Next to the tree was a small pond with coloured fish swimming around. White flowers were scattered around on the lush green grass

Percy had set up a large picnic blanket just next to the tree, full baskets filled with food

My stomach grumbled, loudly, and Percy laughed at me "Come on, you sound hungry"

We walked over to the picnic and sat down. I got out plates as Percy got out boxes full of food

There were danishes, to pancakes with waffles and fruit

It was only when we started to eat and taking quick glances at each other that I realised I had no idea what to do. What do we talk about? How do I start a conversation? Does he start a conversation? I put down my plate

"Sooooooo" I patted his knee

"I'm going to tell you a really big secret" His eyes showed some curiosity "I've never been on a date before"

Percy rolled his eyes "I know that Wise Girl"

"But you have. So what did you do on your dates?"

He turned around so he could face me and crossed his legs "Well, we talked a bit about ourselves. You know, hobbies, likes and dislikes. Families, that kind of stuff"

"Mmmm" I nodded my head "What are your hobbies?" I asked

He gave me a dry look "You know my hobbies"

"Okay then, I do. What are your dislikes and likes?"

He shook his head "You know them to"

I bit my lip "It seems I do. What's your family like?"

He looked up at the sky, resting on his hands behind him and muttered something "You already know my family, Annabeth. Your practically in the family"

I crossed my arms over my chest "Well I'm sorry for trying to make small talk on our first date. What else did you do?"

"We shared stories from our childhood. Mainly happy and embarrassing ones"

I gasped "I hope you didn't mention me in anything"

He scratched the back of his neck "If you were in the story you weren't the focal point. It was mainly embarrassing stories about me"

"Tell me one you told them"

Percy sighed "Okay, fine. I told them the one time that milk came out of my nose"

I slapped him gently on the shoulder, which he immediately started to cradle. "Don't share that story! The only reason milk came out of your nose was because I fell off my chair while you were taking a big gulp!"

"But you weren't the focal point! They laughed at me not at you!"

I gave him a small glare "Still, now they'll think that I can't sit on a chair properly"

Percy shook his head "You can sit on a chair perfectly"

I nodded my head "Yeah kept talking Seaweed Brain. It's going to take a lot of compliments for you to get back in my good books"

And from then on, the date went perfectly

Now that I look back on it, I totally forgot we were on a date. It felt like a regular day, with no other girls and a country to worry about

It was just him and me
