10K Bonus Chapter
Okay to clear up any confusion that may follow, above is the official time line of Percabeth's life. The number is how old they are turning that year. They may not be that age when it happens. If anything I've said in previous chapters doesn't add up to this, THE TIME LINE IS CORRECT. As you find out more things, I'll add more to the time line. It's the easiest way for me to remember and stuff

Sally's Selection; Meeting Paul: approx. Age 11
Percy and Annabeth are sitting in Percy's room, away from the groups of men downstairs that look at them weirdly. Annabeth, as always, is helping Percy with his homework their tutor, Chiron, gave them. Sally, Percy's mother, interrupts them. Lately, she has been stressed out and at some points extremely happy. Annabeth is nearly 100% sure that's because Sally is having her Selection were she meets heaps of boys and picks one to marry. Annabeth has been following it very closely.
Sally walked into the room in her floor-length dress. She was nervously playing with her fingers.
"Hi, Mum!" Percy looked up from his math homework.
Sally smiled. "Hello Percy, Annabeth are you helping him?"
I shrugged. "Maybe."
She chuckled. "Now Percy," Sally sat down in front of Percy. "I need you to meet some people for me because one of them might be your step-dad soon"
Percy frowned and crossed his arms over his chest. "If I get to meet them so does Annabeth. She's in the family too."
Sally sighed and looked over at me. "Of course she is. And of course, she can."
***
The next day Percy and Annabeth are told to be on their best behaviour as they sit in one of the many rooms the palace has. They've been told that five men will come and talk to them, and they've been told to not get too attached as four of them will be sent home.
The door opened to the room and a tall man walked up to us. He had long-ish salt and pepper hair and was wearing a fancy suit. I guess for older people he would be classed as attractive.
"Hello there, I'm Paul." He squatted down in front of us and held out his hand for us to shake.
"Hi there, I'm Annabeth."
He smiled at me as he shook my hand.
"And I'm Percy." Percy shook his hand too.
"How are you two?" He sat down on the chair opposite us.
"We're good thanks," I replied, "How are you?"
"Uh, well I'm a bit nervous really."
Percy perked up. "Why are you nervous?"
Paul made a gesture to us. "Well you two are Sally's children basically and it's a bit nerve-racking to meet you."
I made polite conversation for a couple of minutes while Percy stared at Paul. He seemed to be sizing him up. He wasn't helping me, that was for sure. "What's your favourite colour?" Percy interrupted.
I glared at him for interrupting my story while Paul answered. "I've always liked blue."
Percy turned to face me with wide eyes. "He likes blue too!"
I playful hit him on the shoulder. "That doesn't matter. You're meant to interrogate him, scare him. That's what the father always does in the movies when their daughter meets a guy."
Percy scrunched up his face. "Mums not my daughter."
I rolled my eyes. "No, you're her son. Honestly Percy? You're meant to be the father figure in this. You're meant to be protecting your Mum from guys."
Percy shrugged. "Well, what question do I ask then?"
I rolled my eyes. "Seriously Seaweed Brain, sometimes your so helpless."
Paul chucked next to us. "You're going to quite the couple."
My face flamed up but I ignored his comment, unlike Percy who was struggling to breathe next to me. I tried to put on my most intimidating face I could muster.
"And what are your intentions with Sally, Paul?"
My question seemed to take him by surprise. He cleared his throat and answered another the less. "I hope to marry her Annabeth. Love, respect and work with her."
Percy leaned over and whispered in my ear. "Was that a good enough answer?"
I waved him away. "And what was your previous job, Paul?"
"My previous job? I was a professor at Allens University."
Percy leaned in again. "Smart."
I nodded. "And the last question. Do you love Sally?"
He nodded and leaned in closer. "With all my heart."
Percy rushed to Paul and embraced him in a hug, making him crash on the backrest of the chair. "Me too."
I smiled. That's what Sally needed right now, a man who loves her for her. Not for the crown, money, fame or power. For Sally Jackson, inside and out.
True, all the other men that came in today were nice and polite, said they loved Sally but something was different about Paul. I didn't know what it was but I liked him the best.
"What do you think of him Seaweed Brain?" I asked.
"He's my favourite."
"Mine too."
Zoe's Birth: 14 years old
PERCY POV (< happy?!?)
When Mum called out that she was going into labour in the middle of the gardens, I freaked out.
Annabeth would say that was the understatement of the century but who could really blame me. My mother was going into labour with my sister! A guy can freak out over that.
"Oh, gods oh gods oh gods," I muttered to myself as I helped Mum up from the picnic blanket.
Paul rushed over with Tyson hot on his heels from where they were just playing a ball game. "Is it time?" He asked me frantically.
I numbly nodded my head.
"Okay, um," He paused and looked around him. "Tyson can you run ahead and tell the doctors that we're coming?" Tyson nodded and sprinted off not looking back.
"You boys," Mum laughed. "She'll come in hours! No need to get so panicked."
Paul shook his head. "No, that's my unborn daughter in there and you're my wife. Precious things need all the care in the world."
Vomit started to come up in my throat. They're being so romantic and cheesy. I'll never be like that for any girl.
Paul and I each held Mum by the elbows and guided her to the doors. The guards at the door seemed to realise what was going on and decided to follow us to the hospital wing, just in case.
Paul was muttering things under his breath that I couldn't understand and Mum was smiling, sometimes gripping my arm in pain. Me? I had drakons running around in my stomach and I was extremely worried. What if the baby came out right here, right now? What if something went wrong? What if Mum or the baby didn't make it? What if?
Annabeth was turning the corner when she spotted us. "I just saw Tyson sprinting and..." She trailed off as she realised what was going on.
"Oh!" She rushed up to us. "I'll get some things out of your room Sally. Percy? Paul?" She stared at us. "Stop freaking out. The best medical team in the world, they both will be fine!"
It was only then that I realised I was visually shaking and sweating like a pig. Annabeth's moment of presence and her voice calmed me down though. If something went wrong, she would be there for me and help me fix it, no matter what.
Annabeth dashed off to the staircase to retrieve the gods know what from my mother's room as we turned the corner to the hospital wing.
A couple of maids quickly made their way over to us through the big doors. One maid took my place from my mother's side asking questions to see how much pain there was. The other maid asked Paul how long ago she thinks she went into labour.
The last I saw of my mum before the bigs doors closed in front of me was a face full of pain as a contraction came. Even in pain and sweat on her forehead, she looked beautiful with the pregnant glow.
I slowly slid down the wall opposite the doors and rested my face in my hands. I wasn't allowed in the room, which was understandable and I wasn't quite ready to see a person come out of another human but I didn't want to be separated from my mum.
"Did they go in?" Annabeth asked. She was standing in front of me wearing shorts and her favourite orange shirt. In her hands, she had mums baby bag and in the other her book.
"Yeah." I nodded weakly.
Sensing something was wrong like she always does, she dropped her things and sat down next to me. "Whats going through that head of yours?"
I breath out slowly trying to steady my fast beating heart "What if something goes wrong, Wise Girl? Will Mum be okay? Will my little sister be okay? I've read about things going wrong in childbirth and Mums had difficulties before." I looked up at her with wet eyes. "What if something goes wrong?"
She smiled sadly at me and pulled me into a hug. I placed my head in the crook of her neck, breathing in her soothing lemon scent.
"I can't say that nothing will go wrong," Her voice was even, soft and beautiful. Even with her voice, she calmed me. "That would be lying. The truth is that I don't know what will happen in the next 8 hours or so. But know one thing, Percy. If something does go wrong, and I'm praying that it won't, you'll have me. You'll always have me, Seaweed Brain."
***
It was only when Annabeth, Tyson and I walked into the hospital room was when it fully came crashing down on me.
I had had nine months to prepare for this but it was still shocking. My mum lay on the bed in a hospital gown, beaming large with a pink bundle in her arms. Paul was sitting next to her and was looking down at his daughter with shock and adoration written on his face.
Annabeth stayed at the door, even though she was practically part of the family, and Tyson and I made our way over to our little sister.
Paul stood up quietly and guided me over to the empty armchair next to Mum. He picked up the little girl and placed her in my arms.
She took my breath away. She was absolutely beautiful and gorgeous. Her skin was clean and she smelled like a brand new baby. She was so small in my arms and her little chest was slowly moving up and down. Relief washed over me. She was okay and alive.
"What's her name?" Tyson asked breathlessly. He was standing behind the chair, her little hand curled around his pointer finger.
"Zoe Laura Jackson."
I had a couple of minutes holding little baby Zoe and then Tyson got a turn.
I sat down next to Mum and put an arm around her shoulder. "And how is the mother?" I asked.
She sighed and held my hand. "I'm exhausted, relieved and beyond happy. She's perfect." She whispered.
I nodded. "Yeah, she is."
"And the father?" Annabeth asked from the doorway. "How are you, Paul?"
Paul chuckled and rubbed his forehead. "I'm still shaking." He held up his hands to show us his shake "And I'm still nervous as hell. I feel like she's going to break in my arms. But I'm on cloud nine right now." He smiled.
Annabeth soon got a hold too and then Zoe started to yawn. A nurse came in and helped Paul get her ready for bed.
"Why Zoe?" I asked. Annabeth, Tyson and I surrounded my mum who was still lying in her bed.
She smiled. "Named after the legend, Zoe Nightshade. We chose it because she was a leader, determined, smart, brave, loyal and beautiful."
R.I.P Zoe Nightshade <3
ANNABETH POV
I picked up the papers on the table in the library. The headline was about Zoe, no surprise there but what caught my eye was 'Princess or not?'.
"Hey Perce, listen to this."
Percy walked over and sat next to me as I started to read the front page out loud.
"It is no secret that the country is rejoicing over the new baby in the royal family, Zoe Laura Jackson but is she really a princess? There has been massive debate across the country, since the news of a new baby, that whether she should be crowned a princess or not. It is true that Zoe will be treated, educated and act like a princess, but should she have the title? Yes her parents, Paul and Sally, are King and Queen of Illea but she has no royal blood in her. Neither Sally nor Paul were born into Royalty, like the late Poseidon or even young Percy, both her parents marrying into the family. Word has said that Sally and Paul feel like she should get the title but it has yet been decided by officials. What do you think? We're creating a poll for the public so please send your comments and thoughts about the matter at [email protected]."
"So that means that Zoe won't be crowned a princess?" Percy asked looking up at me with wide eyes.
"I'm not sure," I shrugged and put down the paper. "The reporter is right in saying that she doesn't have any royal blood like you do, Perce." He started to protest saying that his sister should get the title blood or not.
I held up my hand silencing his rambles. "I agree with you, Seaweed Brain. 100 percent but it's not our choice. The Council must decide."
Percy huffed. "Well, when I'm king I'll give her the title if those idiots don't."
I smiled at him. He's so overprotective of her, but it's so sweet. He cares about his two-day-old little sister, even though she hasn't said a single word to him or looked him in the eye.
A week later Zoe was crowned Princess Zoe Laura Jackson of Illèa.
I chose Laura as her middle name cause our fandom wiki page says that was Sally's mother's name in the actual book
Running away: 7 years old
I had my bag packed with the essentials. Food, water, matches, spare clothes, money, rope and a hammer. My plan replayed in my head, the plan that I had been creating since my brothers were born a couple of months ago. And it would finally be put into action after the terrible fight I had had with my father only a few hours ago.
I would jump out this window, only the first floor, by the way, run like my life depended on it to the woods next to the palace. Camp out deep in there for one night and then make my way to the city. There I would buy some more things that I would need and start my trek across the country. My plan was to get to Waverly (The Provence that now is New York) far away from my family and live there for as long as I liked. I would start out homeless but I figured I could get a good paying job quickly because of my good education. Then I would slowly become what I had always dreamed of being, an architect.
But before I could place my master plan into action, the door to the room opened and in walked my best friend.
Percy was wearing his Nemo pyjamas and his hair was messed up from sleeping. His feet were bare and as he walked in he opened his mouth in a big yarn.
I stayed silent hoping he wouldn't notice me and go back to bed. It was 2:30 in the morning after all, but he didn't and slowly walked over to me. He dragged his feet as he walked and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. I tried not to laugh as he wiped the drool from his chin.
When he got to me he fully opened his eyes. He noticed the open window, looked out of it then closed it.
"You drool in your sleep," I whispered.
He grumbled a response. "So I've been told."
"Go back to bed, Seaweed Brain. You need sleep."
He grabbed my wrist and started to pull me out of the room. "You need sleep too, Annabeth."
I pried his fingers off my wrist. "Not right now I don't." Panic started to form in the pit of my stomach. What if I can't get away tonight? I planned everything down to the last second and now because of Percy, I'm running exactly thirty-seven seconds late.
He turned around and seemed to notice my backpack full of things on my back. "Where are you going?"
Seeing no reason to lie I told him the truth. "I'm running away."
I expected him to whine. "Without me?!" But he didn't. He just gave me a curious glance and asked the simplest question. "Why?"
I sighed and moved to a chair that was on the wall. I sat on in and slumped. "I can't take it anymore, Percy! I was a nobody to my dad before he met Helen but now I'm just completely invisible. It's all about Helen wants this, Helen wants that. What about me? I'm his daughter and Malcolm and I are the only thing left of my mum. Malcolm gets recognition but I don't. And now Bobby and Matthew are here and it's all about them. I understand that they're newborns and pretty cute but I'm still here. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth and no one seems to realise that."
Percy walked over and put both of his hands on my shoulders. "I'm not going to bend the truth, Wise Girl. Your family sucks and it's totally unfair. Running away isn't the answer. What about Mum? She loves you and so does Tyson. I love you and I care about you. I don't want you to run away."
I glared up at him. "That was pretty impressive coming from a seven-year-old."
He shrugged. "You're seven too and you were about to run away from home."
I stood up and shook off his hands. "I still am."
Percy pouted. "Can I come?"
I scrunched my eyebrows together. "You," I pointed to him. "Want to run away with me?" I asked.
He nodded. "Yeah! It's perfect! We can survive together! I'll run up to my room and get changed. Have you got everything?"
I nodded weakly and he dashed out of the room quickly before I would say. "You're not coming!"
***
10 minutes later Percy was standing next to me by the window in shorts and a shirt. His Nemo backpack was on his back and he put some stuff from his room in there.
"Are you sure you want to come with me?" I looked over at him.
His face was set with determination. "Where ever you go I follow."
I nodded and jumped out the window, my Seaweed Brain following suit.
Meeting Luke: 7 years old
I sat underneath the pine tree in one of Angeles many forests and sobbed.
It's been two days and I've lost Percy. We were running from some wild animal and we got split up. I've been looking for him for the past five hours and all I found was a shredded piece of his orange shirt.
"Percy?!" I called out. The birds in the nearby trees flew away from my loud voice. I couldn't believe it. I lost him and now I'm all alone. He is too.
And then I heard it. A twig snap.
I stood up quicker than I've ever done before and hastily wiped the tears out of my eyes so I could see better. I held up my hammer in an attempt to kill the thing that was obviously watching me in the shadows.
I cursed my self silently that I hadn't found shelter when the sunset. Now I'm about to be attacked in the middle of the night with only a hammer to defend my self.
"Percy?" I whispered, "Percy, is that you?" My voice shook with nerves. "Please don't be a monster. No more, please."
"It's okay," A male voice I didn't recognise came from the shadows. "I'm not a monster. I'm a good guy."
A tall boy who was around 14 years of age stepped out from the dark. In his hand, he held a wooden shield and in the other a long sword that gleamed in the moonlight. His face was youthfully beautiful with cold blue eyes and sandy blonde hair. He wore a black long sleeve shirt and grey shorts with sandals on his feet.
"Who are you?" I demand in my most frightening tone I could muster, even though I was petrified.
"My names Luke Castellan," His voice had some accent that I couldn't place but I immediately felt protected. "I've run away from home too. My mums crazy and my dad doesn't care about me. You can trust me, kiddo" I flinched at the nickname my dad always called me.
"Don't like the name kiddo then?" Luke asked.
I held up the hammer higher. "My dad called me that. He doesn't care about me either."
Even with a hammer directed at him, Luke squatted down in front of me. "Let me guess. Dead mother? Evil step mum that hates you and you hate her back? She and your dad treat you like you're invisible."
I slowly lowered my hand with the hammer in it until it was by my side. "How did you guess that?" I asked.
Luke gave me a small smile. "I can see it in your eyes."
***
After interrogating Luke as much as I could, I finally trusted him a little bit more for him to lead me to his shelter.
"How long have you lived out here for?" I asked looking up at my new friend with wide eyes.
"A year or two. I've learnt how to survive and I know every inch of this forest."
We came to a stop in front of a small wooden shack. "Wow." I breathed.
Luke opened the door and left me to walk into his home.
The floor was dirt but one area had a woven leaf rug. A sleeping bag lay in the corner, a small lantern hanging from the middle of the room lighting it up. Outside was a small area where stones were placed in a circle, ashes in the middle. That's where I guess he made a fire. The walls were expertly made with large logs as frames and smaller branches were woven together to create the four walls. The roof was made out of leaves and more wood, but it was under a pretty thick canopy, so there was a small chance water would get through.
"Home sweet home," Luke muttered.
After setting up a fire outside, Luke cooked some wild rabbit for me.
"So how long have you been away from home Annabeth?"
I bit my lip and looked down at my feet. "Two days."
He smiled at me. "Two days? Wow! And how old are you?"
"I'm seven," I stated proudly.
"You're bit young to be running around in the woods by yourself."
I shook my head and crossed my arms over my chest. "I wasn't alone! I ran away with my best friend but we got separated..." my voice trailed off as I thought of Percy alone.
"Is that who Percy is? The guy who you thought I was?" Luke asked.
"Yeah."
"And where exactly are you from, Annie?"
I blushed at my new nickname but didn't protest. "I'm from Angeles."
His eyes flew wide. "Well your a long way from home, aren't you? Where in Angeles?"
I looked down at my feet. "The Palace."
Luke leaned backwards. "You lived in the palace and you ran away?"
I nodded and looked at the burning fire. "Yes. My dads Fredrick Chase-"
"General Fredrick Chase?"
I nodded. "But that means that your brothers were born just a couple of months ago." He realised.
I gave him a weird look. "How do you know that?"
He pointed off to his left. "The nearest town is that way. It was all over the news."
"Oh."
Luke suddenly gasped and I straighten up reaching for the hammer that was next to me.
"That means that the Percy you were talking about is Prince Percy!" Something flashed across his face but I couldn't read it.
"Yeah. And now I don't know where he is! He can't survive without me! He's only seven!"
Luke gave me a pointed look. "But you're seven"
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, but he's a Seaweed Brain and I'm a Wise Girl."
The next day, Luke left me at his home. He was going to the nearest town to check if any news about Percy had made its way to the newspapers.
After I explored the small area around the house I went back inside and looked around. I noticed that one of the walls was sagging and would fall over if a strong gust of wind came. By the time Luke came back, after lunch, his house was much stabler.
"What did you do, Annie?" He asked as he stepped in.
I blushed and kick a rock. "I noticed that your walls didn't have enough beams and so I fixed it."
He winked at me. "You'll be a great architect when you grow up, Annie"
I smiled at him as thanks. "Any news of Percy?" I asked.
Luke nodded and I squealed. "Is he okay? Is he hurt? Where is he? Who found him? When did they find him?"
"Slow down there," Luke sat on a tree stump. "I read an article from a newspaper. It was about how you and Percy went missing and how your family is devastated." I rolled my seven-year-old eyes. "And then Percy turned up in a small village with a bleeding arm and a concussion." I gasped "It's okay. Guards came and took him back to the palace. He's feeling much better and the king and Queen are somewhat relieved. Everyone's really worried about you, Annie." He looked up at me and gave me a small smile. "I think you should go home."
I huffed and sat down in his spare sleeping bag where I slept last night. "It's all just an act. Dad and Helen don't care about me. Only Percy does. And I guess Sally and Paul too, they're more my parents than my real parents."
Luke sighed and came over to rub my back reassuring. "You are welcome to stay here as long as you like, Annie but just know that your dad does care about you. He may not show it, a he's an idiot for that, but deep down he loves you."
I closed my eyes. "I think I remind him of my mum."
"Yeah?"
I nodded. "Yeah. I've got dads coloured hair but I've got mums eyes. Dad says I get my looks and intelligence from here. Sally says I sound like her."
"When did she die?" Luke asked softly.
"A couple of months before my first birthday."
"How?"
I laid down on the sleeping bag, Luke next to me, suddenly feeling extremely tired. "Rebel attack." Luke tensed next to me. "Stabbed and bled to death."
***
Over the next two days, Luke tried to convince me to go back home. I wouldn't have it.
I would stomp on his foot if he brought the topic up or I would glare daggers at him until he stopped.
It wasn't until my sixth night away from home did he finally change my young stubborn mind.
"You know, Annie." He sighed as he tended to the fire in between the two of us. "You're pretty lucky."
I raised my eyebrows as I munched on a piece of meat. "How so?"
"Well, for one thing, you live in a pretty cool place." He stood up and dusted off the ash from his hand.
"Lived." I corrected him.
"There's no denying it though. You had food, running water, clean clothes and heaps of space. So, you may not have had a great family but the huge library could make up for that."
I glared at him. It was true, I missed having running water and good food. I missed the clean clothes and the books.
"And how else am I lucky?"
"You have Percy."
I shrugged. "I'll always have Percy."
He rubbed his hands over his face. "Percy cares about you. You care about him. You don't understand, Annie. I didn't have a Percy and I still don't. I don't have that best friend, even that friend, that would do anything for me without getting something in return. My mother is insane, bat-Styx crazy. She has no idea what goes on and my father doesn't seem to care. I've only met the guy once and once was enough. But you have Percy. Imagine what he's feeling right now, Annabeth." Guilt started to pour down on me like rain in a storm. "He's worried sick that his best friend is out there with only a bag of supplies. He's scared that you're going to die but for all he knows, you're already dead. He's feeling stupid and angry at himself for being separated from you. He's regretting ever letting you jump out that window. He may be happy that you've gotten away from your horrible family but he may be thinking that your heart's already stopped beating. And worst of all he's missing you. You've been a constant presence in his life and now your not there. Aren't you missing him too? Have you not thought about how he's feeling?"
Tears blurred my vision as I quickly stood up and sprinted away. I climbed up a pine tree and sat on one of the lower branches letting Luke's words replay in my head.
I couldn't believe that I hadn't thought about Percy. He's must be feeling so guilty right now when all he did was try and help.
"Annabeth?" Luke stood underneath me. "I'm sorry to make you cry but-"
"Fine." I snapped. "I'll go back, for Percy. Not because of my family. For Percy."
"Good choice, Annabeth."
He helped me down and took my hand leading me back to the wood shack. My hand was little in his large hand and he smiled down at me, moonlight highlighting his face and reflecting in his cold blue eyes.
"Luke?"
"Yeah?"
"Will you be my family?"
"I promise."
The feels right now
Bianca's death: 13 years old
"I was here when it happened. The rebels attacked. Bianca and I were in my room, catching up on stuff. We were as close as royal cousins could be I guess, being on the other side of the earth and only seeing each other two-four times a year. The alarms bleared and in the Rebels rushed from the door. She grabbed two swords off my wall and we knocked out the three Rebels. More came and in they ran from the balcony and in they smashed their way through the door. Others smashed their way through the glass and in they came from the broken roof. Guards came and they helped us. We knocked all of them out, or so we thought. One got up and stabbed Bianca straight through the heart. A guard killed him and ran out to get the doctor. I held my cousin dying in my arms. Her last words were "Tell Nico I'm sorry". I told Nico and he seemed to understand. He blamed her death on me, I blame her death on me. People tried talking us out of it but it was my fault. If I hadn't have said a sarcastic comment on our fighting skills then Bianca never would have laughed and turned to face me. She would never have gotten stabbed. Nico eventually came around some years later but I still hold it against myself. She had a whole future ahead of her and I took it away. She was going to get married, have kids and rule Italy like the awesome queen she would be. I've given a huge burden to Nico now, he's expected to become king, something he never expected. I had hurt all the citizens of Italy too. Their princess and heir was killed because of me. They lost their princess, I lost my cousin, Hades and Maria lost a daughter, Nico lost a sister."
- Percy Jackson.
"And then guessed what happened!" Bianca laughed in front of me. "He-he tripped and fell into the pond!"
I laughed at her ridiculous story. This was great, I hadn't seen my cousin since last Christmas and she had definitely done some growing up. Her bones had grown into her cheeks and she had gotten taller too. She still wouldn't take that green beanie off even though it created the nickname Greenie for her and she wore her favourite silver sundress. Freckles covered her Italian olive skin, her dark brown hair fell over her shoulders and her black eyes gleamed with happiness.
A sound I knew all too well filled the room.
"What is that, cugino?" Bianca got up from my bed and looked around wildly.
"Rebel alarm! Quick." I grabbed her wrist and pulled her over to my closet where a secret passage stood waiting to take us to safety. "We need to get to the safe rooms-" but I didn't get to finish my sentence.
The door banged open and three men came running in. They were dressed in black and above their hearts gleamed silver was the Rebels logo. A scythe.
Bianca, thinking quickly, ran over to the wall behind us and tugged two swords I had on display down for use.
"Cugino!" And she threw one sword at me.
Years of training allowed me to catch it safely and point it at the Rebels. "Come and get me, stink-breath."
All three charged at us, sword and dagger at the ready. I silently thanked the gods that they didn't have guns, we would be dead otherwise.
Two came for me, one for Bianca. Bianca had no trouble disarming him and just before she was about to slash his leg I called out to her. "Don't kill! Just knock him out." And she did.
I kept fighting stink-breath and clumsy over with me. Bianca came up behind them and knock clumsy out, falling in front of me. I kicked his arm out of the way and effectively knocked out stink-breath.
Just when I thought we could finally get to the safe rooms, my large glass windows smashed, spraying glass everywhere, and in jump a bunch of Rebels. To make things worse the roof exploded right above my bed, five more Rebels jumping down.
Bianca and I stood back to back, slowly turning around to look at all the Rebels around us, circling us in.
"Cugino?" Bianca asked.
"Yeah, Greenie?"
Her Italian accent was laced with fear, something I had never heard. "How do we get out of this one?"
As if to answer my question, in came around seven guards to help us out of our situation.
Some Rebels immediately went for the guards, slashing and block attacks with their swords, knives and daggers. Some came for us, I assume their targets in this whole attack.
Whilst dogging two Rebels I spotted one of my closest friends, Jason, in the mix of the guards. He was fighting a Rebel and by the looks of it, was winning. He was still in training, and not officially a guard, but it was good to see him in the action, even if he could get hurt.
As I was hacking at a Rebel trying to get him to lose his balance my thoughts drifted to Annabeth. I think she was in the library and I prayed that she had gotten to a safe room safely. If she got hurt I had no idea that I would do with myself.
Sweat trickled down my face and I wiped it away, breathing heavily. All Rebels laid on the ground knocked out or bleeding badly.
"If you're going to come in here and want to fight," I kicked a fallen Rebels hand. "At least learn how to do so beforehand," I smirked.
Bianca laughed and turned around to face me. I wasn't sure if she was laughing at my comment or it was the adrenaline wearing off. "Oh, cugino-" But she never got to finish her sentence.
Her silver dress started to turn red with blood as a knife found its way to her back.
Her face froze mid-laugh and a little bit of blood dribbled out of her mouth.
Time slowed down and I dashed to catch my falling cousin. I couldn't hear Jason's gasp or the fall of the Rebel who had stabbed Bianca as he too died at the hands of a knife.
Panic irrupted in the room and guards sprinted out to get help.
But I didn't hear or see anything. All I heard was Bianca's laboured breathing and all I could see was the life slowly leaving her eyes.
"Greenie! No, please, no." I whimpered and rested my forehead on hers.
"Cugino," She whispered. "Nico-Nico needs to-" I quieted her in an attempt to try to tell her to keep her strength, but being the stubborn person I love she continued on. "-know that...I love him."
Tears made there way down my cheeks and time seemed to slow down. "He already knows that."
She smiled weakly at me, her eyelids growing heavy. "Tell Nico I'm sorry."
She then went limp in my arms
The feels I'm getting writing these I swear!
Percabeth's First Kiss: 15 years old
It was a normal hot summers day. Percy and I had just come inside from spending a couple of hours training with the guards outside. We went separate ways to shower and then we found ourselves back together in Percy's room.
"Your punches were really steady today, Wise Girl." Percy rubbed a couple of spots on his arms and chest. "You sure can punch."
I pinched his cheeks. "And you're a good dummy to punch."
He mouth flew open in shock and he quickly grabbed my hands, pulling them down and effectively make me lose my balance. We both toppled down off of his bed, ending up with me on top of him, his back on his bedroom floor.
"Ha ha," I flicked his forehead making him flinch. "Whose the better fighter?"
Quicker than I could say 'What?', he looped his legs around my waist and pulled me over, now with him on top of me.
He flicked my forehead the same way I did. "I think I am." And he stuck out his tongue at me.
I scrunched my face up in pain. "Help," I muttered. "You're...crushing me...can't breath...get off you...whale."
Percy chuckled and got off of me sticking his hand out to help me up.
"Whale?" He mocked being hur.t "You know it's all muscle, Wise Girl."
I pointed to his brain. "And it's all seaweed up there."
He was about to make a sassy comeback being a little Perssay and all but was interrupted by a dreaded noise.
"Rebels." We both whispered with wide eyes.
Percy grabbed my wrist and started to drag me toward the secret tunnel located in his bedroom. "Oi!" I yelled at him trying the pry his hands from my wrist. "I can get there myself."
I could hear Rebels running, screams and gunshots just outside the door. I was scared for our lives like never before.
PERCY POV
I turned my head around and Annabeth glared at me like she was going to punch me. And then she did something that surprised me even more.
She kissed me.
I probably would have stood there for days trying to remember what my name was but the Rebels in my room jarred me back to reality.
I looked over at Annabeth, she was blushing in a cute adorable way but she was also dazed by the kiss.
Gunshots sounded as the Rebels fired at us and Annabeth and I rushed over to each other, our hands up protecting our faces.
"Get the prince," Someone yelled in a gruff voice as I pulled Annabeth with me to hide behind a table that had been knocked down. "Boss wants him."
"What about the girl?" Another asked.
"Kill her," Was the reply.
I looked over to Annabeth who was squatting down next to me. "You need to leave."
"What?" She raised her eyebrows. "We need to leave."
I didn't get a chance to protest because the table we were hiding behind was pushed away and a Rebel pointed a gun at us.
"Well hello, there Your Highness," His voice was like sandpaper and mocking me. He looked over at Annabeth. "And girlfriend."
Before we could say anything along the lines of 'We're just friends', even though we just kissed, I felt the nozzle of a gun at the back of my head.
"Stand up princey-poo or you die."
I fumbled for Annabeth's hand, and once seizing it I stood up.
With my eyes, I looked around. In total there were about four guns pointed at Annabeth and me.
I could hear gunshots and screams coming from downstairs but what caught my ears was the growing noise of feet running towards us.
Guards.
Seeing this as my chance, knowing Annabeth was reading my mind, I yelled. "NOW!"
Annabeth dashed to what she guessed was the weakest Rebel and using training we learnt earlier that day, effectively disarmed the Rebel and pointed his gun at him, shooting him in the leg. He fell back in pain, knocking over one of his evil friends and Annabeth shot the other with her gun, straight through the foot.
Meanwhile, I kicked the Rebel in front of me where the sun does not shine and ducked as the gun at the back of my head fired. The bullet grazed the Rebel now knocked down in pain's shoulder, he screamed out in more pain. I kicked backwards from my ducked position kicking the guy behind me in the shin. He swore and stumbled back and I picked up a fallen gun next to me. I quickly spun around and held the gun up to the Rebel, my finger ready to pull the trigger. He had regained his balance and he too held a gun up to me. Annabeth was by my side now, blood dripping down from her forehead were a piece of glass cut her and I could fell my t-shirt getting soaked around my forearm. Annabeth and I each held a gun up and we were about to shoot when a shot went off behind us. The bullet whizzed between Annabeth and I and struck the Rebel right in the stomach. He fell back with a thud.
I smiled and turned around to give Annabeth a hug to celebrate our victory, but all I saw was a flash of her golden hair as she ran out of the room.
