It's been a year of me working as one of Nightmare's servants. It's tiring, but a lot less boring than how my life was before. Since Error refuses to work with anyone else other than himself, Nightmare had to resort to asking this weirdo named Ink to teach me how to teleport to other aus. The artsy skeleton didn't seem to mind, he even seemed ecstatic about doing something other than protecting aus for once. After a few months, I mastered the skill. He would've asked Killer, but that guy betrayed near the end of the year out of jealousy from me rising up so fast. He had feelings for Nightmare and ended up being a yandere, so some new guy who he didn't trust coming in and getting on Nightmare's good side right away made him feel an unexplainable rage. He was Nightmare's closest servant, and was even his personal guard before he betrayed. I'm also pretty sure he was the first guy Nightmare recruited, he seemed like the oldest.

What had happened was that I woke up to a sharp pain in my ribs. Apparently, Killer stabbed me and I screamed. Nightmare and the others were woken up due to the sudden commotion and when they found Killer trying to literally murder me, he had to be held back while someone else helped me with first aid. After that incident, Killer ran away and hasn't come back. He probably could've redeemed himself if he stayed, but none of us can really do anything about it now that he left. 

I'm personally fine with him being gone since he tried to murder me, but I'm not sure how Nightmare's doing. He seems to be in an even worse mood than usual. Killer seemed like his favorite one out of us all, and now he doesn't have a personal guard. I feel bad for him since he did help both Chara and I out of our dead au, so sometimes I make him cookies or tea. He usually doesn't accept them so I just leave them by his office door. He rarely uses the throne room anymore now that he's in a more.. depressive state.

I needed a break from a deadly silent castle. He only ever called any of us into his office if he had something for us to do, but other than that, the rest of us usually had our own meetings without Nightmare and split the chores to different people with different things to do on different days. Sometimes we had game nights, but I usually didn't feel like joining them. 

Today was just another boring day, I was walking in some random dead au. Even Chara was silent, seeming too tired to argue about much. I was tired as well, and decided to sit somewhere for a bit while I played around with our knife out of boredom. 

Suddenly, a portal opened up underneath me and I fell through without even being able to react. I fell face-first onto the ground and sat up, holding my skull while rubbing it in pain. Thankfully, it was only Nightmare. He had probably called us because he had something for us to do. I stood up, straightening out my clothes that got messed up after I fell. He seemed angry about something, not directly at me, but more so at something else. He was looking at the wall with a stern look. "My brother Dream is back. I sense Killer's aura along with my brother's annoyingly positive one.. that goddamn traitor." He tightened his fists, seeming pissed. 

I gave him a concerned yet confused look, I didn't know he had a brother but I was willing to help either way. It seemed like Nightmare hated his brother with all of his might, guess they had a bad history?

"Well, is there any way I can help?" He turned to look towards me, his look softening a bit as he formed a small grin.

"Actually, yes. There's something I need you to do." Nightmare said while grinning.

"And that is?" I said, intrigued.

"I need you to capture my brother and take him to me. Dream has been trapped in a stone prison for many years, 500 to be exact. He shouldn't know much about the modern day world since he only recently escaped, and he doesn't have that many friends other than an overbearing Underswap Sans and Ink.. and possibly Killer, who betrayed us all, especially me." He tightened his fists out of anger once again after mentioning Killer, before continuing what he was saying. 

"You'll be my personal guard for the time-being. I don't know how much I can trust the others after what recently happened, and you're one of the strongest. Think of it as a trust test with me having my faith in you, but don't get too happy about it. You'd better use your strength well and do a good job."

Did he say.. personal guard?!?

I thought only one of the oldest servants could be the next personal guard, but I guess I shouldn't question it since Nightmare's the one who decided it.

Besides, it'll only be temporary.. 

right?
