Found a friend

Alfred was ecstatic when he headed to his classroom. Arthur was great! Kind of weird...but so was he! Alfred was a Junior in high school and was a bit upset when he found out Arthur wouldn't be there next year. Alfred wanted to know more about the Brit. He already knows his favourite anime, and his favourite colour was green. He always looks angry and upset. But he has a wonderful smile...

Alfred wanted to see it more often. He was determined to make him smile again. Alfred came to the door was of this classroom. He took in a deep breath. The bullying wasn't as bad in high school. Not close. But it still happens. Alfred dragged his feet into the classroom as the bell rung. He shuffled to the back corner of the room near the window, shrugged his backpack onto the floor and slumped down into his seat.

Alfred took out his notebook and pretended to take notes, when he was only doodling on the empty page. Alfred was thinking of ways to get to know the other when he heard his teacher call out his name. Alfred snapped his head up. "Y-yea?" He studdered. The class chuckled.

The teacher looked back at him with displeasing eyes. "Alfred. Can you please explain how you answered question 4 from the reading?"

Alfred froze. -Shit! The reading! I didn't do it! FUUUUUU!- Alfred panicked in his mind. "Uh...what was the question?" Alfred asked.

The teacher rolled her eyes at him, and crossed her arms. "How was the German publics reaction to the Jewish internment camps?" She said in a tone that suggested she was trying to torcher Alfred.

Alfred cleared his throat in the most awkward way possible and spoke. " I um...yeah I didn't understand that question..."

"And what about question 5?" The teacher frowned at him, already knowing the stupid excuses that Alfred would come up with.

"Haha, about that..." Alfred nervously rubbed the back of his neck.

"Alfred did you do any of the homework?" The teacher sighed. Tired of his constant failing. And to her disappointment he only shook his head in shame. Fed up with it, she came up with a plan. She would use one of her best students to try and bring his grade up. The last thing she wanted was another class with him. She groaned and turned back to the whole class. Continuing to talk about question 4.

Alfred looked down at his hands that lay in his lap. A sudden burden on his shoulders. -I'm going to fail this. God damn it..- He took a breath and resumed his previous activity, drawing pointless doodles on his notepad.

Across campus there was a joyful Brit, happily answering several math questions presented to the class. Usually he would sit quiet. Mumbling about how bleak life was. But not today. He made a friend, and it was a feeling he didn't want to loose.

Raising his hand for the 13th time, the teacher looked to him. "Arthur, how about we let some of the other students answer this time, okay?". Arthur shot his hand back down, a bit embarrassed. It wasn't HIS fault he was so smart. Though this didn't bring down his level of happiness. He was convinced nothing would. That was until he ran into a particular frog, he was not very fond of.

The class bell rang loudly as it signalled the ending of class. Arthur weaved his way through many scuffing chairs and eager children, and escaped the class. Arthur had chemistry next. He didn't mind chemistry, but all the seats had to be filled, forcing him to sit with another, living, breathing, thing...with a pulse. He made his way down the hall, but stopped when he heard his name. He turned around to see a frog. Not an actual frog. Just a, frog eating, snail slurping, hairy legged- his thoughts were cut off by the Frenchman's arm being slung over his shoulder. Hating the Frenchie and human contact made it completely revolting. He jumped out from under his arm and stood in a defensive stance.

"Ohohon, what is wrong Angleterre?" Francis cooed.

"Oh nothing, I just touched a slime ridden serpent!" Arthur shouted back.

Francis put his arms in front of him in surrender. "Calm down you stuck up Brit! I was only playing~!" Francis winked at him. Arthur involuntarily shuddered in disgust.

"I don't have time for your games, Frenchie! I'm going to be late to my class!" Arthur turned on his heel and stormed off in the direction of his classroom. Unfortunately for Arthur, the so called 'serpent' was in his chemistry class as well...
