Alfred and Arthur stood in front of their teacher, eyes cast down. Class had ended and it was lunch period now. The grumpy teacher crossed her arms and sighed.

"Alfred." She said angrily. Alfred flinched at his name, he looked up. "Y-yes?" He gulped.

There was a pause. "Care to explain?"

"W-well... Uh...Ya see.......ehem...I tried to-" Arthur cut off his explanation.

"It was me. I thought I read the instructions right, and it seems I....miscalculated?" Arthur finished, embarrassed.

There was another pause. "Mis.....calculated. You ruin three hundred dollars of equipment....and your excuse is you "miscalculated"?". She sighed again, and pinched the bridge of her nose.

"But it was my fault too! I mixed the chemicals wrong and stuff, and I guess everything just kinda...exploded." Alfred butted in, trying to take some of the blame, though both Arthur, and Alfred knew he did it right.

The teacher rubbed her temples. "Whatever you did, it's done." Alfred and Arthur both sighed in relief. "Hey! Don't think you are off the hook." She finished.

The boys gulped.

"You two, have to clean this mess up. And.......hmm...Stay after everyday for the next two weeks and I won't send your parents a bill."

Alfred stood there with his jaw dropped, while Arthur seemed fine with it. The teacher motioned to the buckets, rags, and gloves. "Go on, get to it! I'll give you a pass of your late to your next class." And with that, she walked of to lunch.

Arthur nodded and went to go fill up a bucket, Alfred haven't moved. He stood there with his mouth agape, eyes wide open, with a dumbfound expression.

"Alfred come on and move your ass! Let's get this done already. And thanks for taking some of the fall..." Arthur threw a soaked rag at Alfred, hitting him in the face with a wet slap. The rag hung on his face and eventually plopped into the floor.

"H-how...why..." Alfred said under his breath. "How could she do this to us." Alfred started to shake.

Arthur walked to him, concerned. "Alfred, you alright love?" Arthur put his hand on Alfred's shoulder and silently prayed to the gods above that he didn't hear that last part.

Alfred turned sharply towards Arthur. "How could she do this to us Artie!!!" He grabbed Arthur by the shoulders and shook, putting emphasis to his words.

"What? What the hell Alfred what the hell are you talking about!!??" Arthur squirmed uncomfortably under his iron like grip.

"HOW COULD SHE MAKE US SKIP LUNCH, ON BURGER DAY?!" Alfred yelled in his face.

Arthur blinked. "...what?"

"BURGER DAY, THE HOLY DAY IN WHICH THE BEAUTIFUL LADY OF LUNCH BLESSES ME WITH THE FOOD OF DELICIOUSNESS." Alfred shook him again, and got closer to his face, mere inches of space between their noses. Alfred's face showed that he was completely serious, his eyes determined, and his lips set in a straight line.

Arthur pushed slightly on Alfred's shoulders, but couldn't get free. Arthur could feel the others breath on his lips, it made him feel a little sick, but also little....what is that feeling? Nervousness? Fear? Need? 'Okay definitely not the last one' he thought. Arthur just couldn't put his finger on it.

Alfred brought his face closer. Arthur froze, he couldn't move. 'Wait! What! Is he going to kiss me!? Don't!' Arthur's thoughts ran windy in his head.

Alfred pulled Arthur in, into a hug. One hand on his upper back, the other hand lower. Alfred buried his head into the crook of Arthur's neck. Arthur felt his face heat up. He felt the tingling from Alfred's breath, and the tickle of his hair on his cheek. His heart sped to a million miles a minuet. "A-Alfred...I-it's okay...if we finish this...we could go to McDonald's after." Arthur said while rubbing the Americans back.
Alfred snapped his head up, his face filled with happy tears. "And you'll pay?!" He shouted.

Arthur sighed. "Yes, you bloody basket case, why would I bring you out to eat and not offer to pay. I am a gentleman after all."

Alfred smiled brightly. "I love you, Arthur." Alfred said, looking deeply into his eyes.

Arthur coughed. His face lit up brighter than the Fourth of July. He pulled away, clearing his throat, and hopefully the awkwardness he felt. 'Of course he means as a friend. I know he does. And it doesn't matter anyways. I'm asexual. I don't like stuff like that. It makes me feel sick.'

'Then how come you don't feel nauseous?' A voice rang in Arthurs head. He shook the voice out of his mind and walked over to the rags. He picked one up and gestured to Alfred.

"OI! Come on pick up that rag, we need to get this shit cleaned up before next period!"

"You got it Artie!" Alfred saluted excitedly. The two put on aprons and rubber gloves, and got to work on the horrid mess that was supposed to be their lab.
