Hey guys! Are you ready to find out who the mysterious person is? ... a friend of mine guessed it was Patton's Mom. Can you imagine how scary that would be?! But now I kinda want to write a side chapter that isn't related to the plot, but kinda is? It's more of a what if chapter. What do you think? Would you guys read that? An 'if Patton's Mom found him instead of who did' chapter... I mean... I could probably tell you, the name is right under here... But... Oh well. So please tell me if that's something you would be interested in!

Warning: Mentions of past injuries (includes whipping incident), nightmares, and pain... Did you expect any different?

Remy pov
I walked out of my favorite starbies shop, saying goodbye to my favorite people. I jumped when I heard an ear splitting scream. I was so scared I dropped my frappuccino as I ran over to Patton, who was lying on the ground unconscious with his crutch right next to him. What happened?! I quickly checked his pulse. He's still breathing. I don't know what to do. I got out my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found him.

"Who is this?"

"Emile, thank stars you answered!"

"What do you need Remy?" He sounded concerned.

"Patton just passed out!"

"What?! Um ok… here. I'll be there in a few minutes, where are you?". I quickly gave him the street name and hung up. I knelt down next to Patton and heaved him up into my arms. I sat down on a nearby bench and anxiously tapped my foot. Patton still rested on my lap and his crutch sat right next to me.

"Come on, Pat. Come on." I muttered under my breath to him. I felt him stir in my arms. He tried to roll over, out of my arms. "No babes, don't do that." He began to shake.

"No," he mumbled, "P-please… n-no… I-I'll do better. P-please don't… stop! P-please! N-no! I-I'll stop! I-I'll be better. I'll be better…" tears were streaming down his face. I felt my heart break at the sound of his voice. What the heck is going on? Why is he acting this way? What happened to him? I tried to hold him closer, but he let out a Yelp and arched his back. "S-stop! P-please s-stop!" He was crying harder now. I don't know what to do.

He cried in my arms for five minutes until Emile showed up in his red van. He quickly opened the door and I moved Patton into the car and buckled him in. I jumped into the front seat and looked over to Emile. "Okay so… what's the plan?"

"Um… I haven't gotten that far yet." He answered truthfully.

"Okay… we can work with this. Umm… do you think we should take him to the hospital?" He nodded and we started to drive. A faint voice came from the back of the car.

"No… no hospital." We turned back to see Patton with his eyes scrunched shut. He is still out, but somehow he still managed to respond in his sleep.

"Okay… so no hospital. How about my house?" Emile offered as he turned the car around. We didn't hear any protests from Patton, so we took that as a yes. After a minute of silence Emile spoke up, "What happened?"

"I don't know. I was walking out of my favorite starbies when I heard him scream. I only saw him once he had already passed out on the sidewalk." I took a deep breath before adding, "after I called you, I picked him up and he kept muttering things like stop, I'll do better, I'm sorry, and he arched his back when I touched it a certain way and he yelped." I saw Emile nod.

"Okay, we're here." We pulled up at a two story house that had a beautiful flower bed around the front. You could tell it was well taken care of. Emile stopped the car and I got out. This time, Emile grabbed Patton and brought him into the house. I followed quickly with the crutch and opened the door for them. "My parents are out of town for the weekend and my siblings are off in college so we have the place to ourselves." He informed me. I nod and Emile moved Patton onto the couch. We kneel down next to him and Emile slowly started to roll Patton's pant leg up. Patton whimpered, but otherwise remained silent. Tears were freely falling down his face again.

What we saw left us speechless. Patton's leg was bandaged up in one area, and covered in scrape marks and rips in the skin everywhere else. Why isn't the whole leg wrapped up? What's with that one area? I began to remove the bandages, but Emile put his hand on mine and motioned to Patton's upper half. Patton's face was scrunched up with tears streaming down his face. He was silently mouthing 'no, no, no, please no'. I took my hand back, and his face relaxed a bit. He also stopped moving his mouth and instead, held it in a pressed line.

His tears came to a stop and he slowly relaxed into the couch, letting his guard down. It was like he was falling into a deep sleep. I returned my hand to his leg and he didn't flinch. I took that as a sign to slowly remove the bandages. I heard Emile gasp as my blood ran cold. He has a hole in his leg. It looked like his leg was stabbed! There is no way in heck he fell down any dang stairs! I don't know what to do. The bandages were almost entirely bled through, so I numbly got up and asked Emile where the first aid kit was.

I quickly got it and walked back over to Patton. His face scrunched up again and it looked like he was having a nightmare. Emile put his hand on Patton's shoulder to try to calm him, but Patton jerked away at the contact. He screamed out, "NO! PLEASE!! I'LL DO BETTER! I PROMISE! PLEASE!!" His crying turned into sobs and I exchanged a look with Emile. How can we help him without him freaking out? We were all crying at this point. I wipe my cheek and steady my breathing. I can't help him if I'm freaking out. I see Emile doing the same.

I watch Emile escape into the bathroom. He came back a few minutes later with a bottle of medicine in his hand. It was Tylenol PM. "Patton," he said slowly and Patton immediately tensed. "Drink this." He gave Patton a cup of water and put the pills in it beforehand. Patton was somehow still asleep during this and took the drink as if he was used to following commands. He shakily raised the cup to his mouth and swallowed the pills.

After waiting a few minutes, Patton was out. He didn't respond to us at all. I hesitantly wrapped his leg up again and secured his injury. I then took care of the rest of Patton's leg as Emile instructed me off the Google's. I told Emile about how Patton reacted with his back and he, ever so carefully, removed Patton's shirt. What the heck! Patton's front is all covered in bruises! They are an array of colors. Most are dark blue and black, but some are more green and yellow. His right arm also had scars on it and you could tell it was from a knife. You could also see faded scars on the left arm as well. Is this why he always wears long sleeves? I could also see something crawling over Patton's shoulder. It looked like a line, but it disappeared onto his back. With effort, we gently roll Patton over onto his stomach. He let out a soft moan, but otherwise didn't react. There were thick bandages covering his back so I removed them with Emile's help. I was honestly speechless from what I saw. Emile's voice trembled.

"W-what happened to him?" I couldn't respond. I will spare you the details, but… by the looks of things… he was whipped.

I finally found my voice. "He… was he whipped?" I whispered out. After staring in shock, we carefully took care of his back and wrapped it properly. I am going on a MUR-DUR and I'm going to go get Sarah to help me! She's the best at that kinda thing after all. I look at Emile. "Call Sarah and Hannah," After all, you can't have one without the other. Hannah and Sarah are sisters who make a deadly duo. I thought for a moment, "And Marly." Can't forget her. He nodded and left the room to make a few phone calls.

After a few minutes, we heard a knock at the door and Hannah rushed in with Sarah and another person. "Um, babes, who are you?" I asked, feeling a bit surprised that another would be coming to such a private thing. The person had a blonde pixie cut and glasses.

"I'm Mary, but you probably know me by a different name." I was about to ask her what name, but was interrupted by another knock. Marly followed soon after. She seemed shocked at the sight.

"Mary! What the heck are you doing here?! Get out! No authors allowed!" Author? What the heck? Mary rolled her eyes.

"I still care about Patton okay? It doesn't matter what I put him through!" Marly and Hannah scoffed at this.

"Out! Now!" Mary rolled her eyes and left the room. She didn't leave out of the front door, just to another part of the house.

"Umm…" I started.

"Don't worry about it," Marly said as the girls rushed around Patton. Marly also has a pixie cut and glasses, but she had brown hair. Sarah also had glasses but she had long, thick, wavy brown hair and Hannah had straight brown hair that was in-between the two lengths. Sarah spoke first.

"Who do I need to Mur-dur?" She asked in a dead serious voice.

"Don't you want to see what was done first?" Emile asked from behind me. I had forgotten he was there for a second.

"Don't worry, we know." Hannah answered for her. She muttered something under her breath about killing Mary later and Sarah elbowed her and argued that she liked Mary too much to do that to her. Hannah sighed but agreed. I am completely lost at this point. Marly had stayed silent the whole time. I noticed something hanging from her belt loop pocket.

"What is that?" I asked her. She looked down to where I was pointing and picked it up. It was a white puff ball with a baby head on it. The baby head had a motorcycle helmet on it.

"Oh. This is my son, Todd. I'm the father and Mary's the mother, we bought him in Spain. It's a long story, but that's not important right now," She finished. What the heck?! What even is life at this point? "What do you need us to do?"

"Wait. How do you know what he is going through?" Emile asked.

"We are the founders of the Patton Protection Squad." Hannah replied, as if it was the most obvious thing ever.

"I thought that Roman, Virgil, and Logan were?"

"Nah. That's just what we want them to think." Hannah added with a snicker. A shout came from the other room.

"It wouldn't be a thing without me!!"

"Be quiet, Mary!" Marly yelled. So those two have a history. Patton moaned again and rolled over. Causing all of our attention to go back to him.

"We should take him to the hospital-" Hannah was interrupted by the voice from the other room.

"We can't though!"

"MARY I SWEAR!" Marly shouted out.

"You know, you should never swear. It's not good for your health."

"Mary! If you're not going to help, be quiet!" Sarah yelled back.

"Why can't we go to the hospital?" Emile questioned. There was silence for a bit before a quieter voice responded.

"Because…. because… plot…" all three of the girls rolled their eyes. "Okay, well… fine! Take him to the hospital! They won't do anything! Remy and Emile already treated his wounds! And I don't know what the hospital would do about it, so it would be pointless."

"Seriously Mary?! Do you lack a heart?!" Hannah yelled.

"Yes and no! Depends on the day and my mood! Not usually though!" Wow… this self proclaimed author is messed up.

"Okay, so… what can we do?" I spoke up for the first time. Everyone turned back to Patton as Mary walked back into the room.

"Well, we call his parents," this earned a gasp from some of the girls, "explain to them what happened, but don't include the injury part. We don't need them to worry yet. Then you keep him here until he wakes up and have him explain what's going on." Everyone stared at Mary, dumbfounded. Finally, Marly broke the silence.

"No way! We are not calling those… those…" Mary motioned to me and Emile and Marly sighed in defeat. "That doesn't even sound like a good idea!" Mary smirked before waving her hand. A pencil suddenly appeared in it. No. My mind is just playing tricks on me. That's impossible. She looked like she was writing something into the air.

Wow! Mary's a genius! I have never heard a better plan in my life! "You're a genius, babes." I then pick up my phone and walk out of the room to call Patton's parents.

I heard Hannah shout out, "Oh come on!" and Mary laugh. Those guys are weird, and I have a bad feeling about that Mary chick, but for some reason, I can't bring myself to question her. I scrolled through my notifications and realized that I don't have either of their numbers.

"Hey babes?" I walked back into the room, instantly quieting their bickering. "I don't have his parents' numbers." I saw Hannah give Mary a warning look, but she just smirked in response.

"Don't worry about it. Here, you can use this." She grabbed Patton's phone from his pocket. I grabbed it from her and it was locked. She gently took it back and put her finger on the scanner. No way that would… What the hay? It worked! How did she…? "Thanks…" I said slowly and retreated to the other room. I heard more arguing behind me as the girls yelled at Mary and Emile just sat there, dumbfounded.

I scrolled through the contacts until I reached the one that said Father. I pressed the call button and the phone was immediately answered by a screaming voice, "Where the *** are you?! (I still refuse to write swear words, but this is honestly how his parents would react. So I will replace all swear words with ***) You are so late! Exactly six! Exactly! And now it's eight!! You don't even pick up the phone! You worthless, pathetic, mistake! Get your *** home now!!!"

"Okay, first off, you can shut the *** up because I am not your son! Second off how dare you, you piece of ***!!! You have absolutely no right to call your son any of those words! Your son is currently unconscious from trying to get home so fast to be on time! He won't be returning home any time soon if I can help it! I recommend you get an attitude adjustment you lazy ***!" Emile had run into the room at this point, followed by the girls. Mary looked guilty but relieved. Hannah looked panicked, probably worried for Patton. Marly was glaring at Mary with all the hatred she could muster and Sarah… let's just say she looked ready to Mur-dur.

"Oh…" the voice on the phone responded.

"Oh? Just oh? Really? Your son is probably going to stay the night here and won't return until tomorrow night at the earliest, if I ever let him return!" I screeched into the phone then hung up on him. I almost threw the phone across the room! I would have too if it was mine! I just.. gah!!! How could he treat such an amazing person like that? How could he be that awful?! Arms wrap around me as I feel angry tears slipping down my cheeks. We are going on a mur-dur.
