Chapter Twenty : The Boy's Sensual Kisses
It was another balmy summer morning with the gauzy sun peeking over the few clouds which were floating aimlessly in the clear sky. Gemma and I were quietly finishing our breakfast which consisted of classic pancakes with honey and glazed peaches. Mum was stuffing a buttered toast in her mouth while simultaneously cooking for lunch. Dad took the last sip of his coffee, placed the daily newspaper down on the table and glanced at his watch. Just as he got up to place a feather-like a kiss on my mum's forehead lovingly, Shaun emerged out in his pyjamas.
"Here's your coffee Shaun." Mum thrust the cup filled with bitter coffee in his hands and he lazily walked towards us. He ruffled Gemma's hair who offered a small smile and then tried to ruffle my short hair while I ducked my head, dodging his hand.
"Bug off, how many times am I supposed to tell you that I hate your greasy hands touching my hair." Although I whined, he didn't miss my playful smile. He reached out to grab a piece of fruit from my plate and I shrieked, "Hey, hands-off from my plate!"
When I swatted his hands away, he moved to Gemma's plate who quickly retracted it and we burst out laughing. Shaun was weird like that, some days he played with us and the other days he minded his own business. It was maybe because Gemma and I connected more and he felt left out. Mornings like these made us feel like we were living a normal life in a normal family. Normal felt good.
"Bye kids, we'll go out for ice cream tonight," dad announced blithely and Gemma's lips stretched into the widest grin. She loved ice cream as opposed to Shaun who had teeth sensitivity. "Yoghurt for you son."
Dad winked at us and left. I got up lazily with my empty plate. I dumped it in the sink with the other dishes and reached for the soap to clean them. Mum motioned me to leave it there and instead, handed me my lunch bag.
"There are chicken sandwiches for you Joy and grilled cheese sandwiches for Logan," she said and switched off the stove. "Gemma here's your lunch, grilled cheese sandwiches for you too."
Gemma went to the summer school because she found nothing worthwhile to do at home and working at the flower shop was out of an option since she loathed interacting with new people. Mum made lunch for her and since I had to try and avoid eating much of grilled or oily food for health reasons, mum made chicken sandwiches for me and grilled cheese for Gemma. She had started to make a little extra for Logan who loved anything and everything that my mum cooked.
I grabbed my lunch and sauntered out of the house after saying goodbye to everyone. I placed my lunch bag in the basket of my bicycle, sat comfortably on the seat and pedalled towards the shop. The sun's rays tenderly kissed my skin because the morning sunlight wasn't harsh. The breeze gently tickled me all over and the exuberant feeling of the various giddy sensations washed over me, leaving me giggling and breathless.
Once I arrived at the shop, I locked my bicycle to the bench, grabbed my lunch bag and jostled in through the door.
"Good morning, Logan!" I placed the lunch bag on the counter and grinned.
"Are you drunk?" He stared at me with utmost fascination and brought his right hand towards my cheek. I blinked as he swept his long index finger across my cheek and then glanced at his finger. His eyebrows knotted in confusion. "I thought you wore makeup, but you're not wearing any makeup and your skin is glowing. You-you look almost healthy."
"Really?" I touched my own cheek and my grin widened. "I have started doing yoga, but this isn't because of yoga. I know the real reason. It's because I'm in love!"
"You're in love?" His voice was scarcely audible and I nodded enthusiastically.
"Yes! I'm in love with nature!" I beamed at him and he sighed. "Today was so pleasant and I realized that I'm in love with these flowers, the trees, the sky, the ocean and even the rocks."
"Great, only rocks can handle your bullshit," he mumbled sarcastically and I rolled my eyes.
"Also, I had sickly sweet yet delicious pancakes in the morning who's taste wasn't ruined by meds because I had poured so much honey," I explained and pointed at the lunch bag. "Mum made grilled cheese sandwiches for you, did you bring lunch?"
"No," he replied and arranged the flowers on the shelf. "Say thanks to your mum from me."
"Of course." I stood beside him and leaned against the wall. Grandpa wasn't around, he was barely around anymore. He handled the delivering of flowers to the countless summer weddings leaving Logan and me behind.
We tended to the various customers, most regular and some new. Hours passed by and we were welcomed by the silent afternoon time when no customer came. I was chatting to Logan, but I could see his attention was focused behind me-outside. His eyes narrowed as he squinted at someone through the glass-sheathed walls.
"Logan? What's the matter---"
Suddenly, Logan pulled me into a corner and nearly slammed me against the wall.
"W-What in the world . . . " I trailed off and he clamped his hand against my mouth. "Mmph---"
"Don't talk please," he hushed me and I felt myself slipping in his intense sea-coloured eyes. "Go with the flow."
The bells dinged and I tried to look over Logan's towering frame. I caught a glimpse of a stout man before Logan suddenly bent down and latched his plump lips to my throat.
"Is anybody here?" I heard the rough voice of the customer that had walked in.
I wanted to scream, I wanted to curse, I wanted to say a million things, but no words came out of my mouth except for a squeaky noise which resembled that of a rat's. My throat went dry and I froze. The shock of Logan's closeness and his goddamn lips on my throat was consuming my mind, body and soul. My wide eyes locked into the one's of the customer that had entered who was discreetly watching us. He looked angry at being ignored and a deep frown etched on his face.
At that very moment, Logan's one, cold hand slipped underneath my t-shirt and I gasped.
His other hand gripped both my wrists firmly almost desperately as he pressed his body to mine, pinning me against the wall. His entire body weight didn't allow me to move like he didn't want me to see the man or talk. I was sandwiched between the wall and him and I could feel him rigid against me. His hand was stiffly resting on my bareback. My breath hitched as his soft lips moved, kissing and sucking at that one spot right above my collar bone. Goosebumps rose on my skin and an unfamiliar chill ran down my spine. Suddenly, I felt hot and cold at the very same odd time.
"Can no damn person who's not whoring around attend to me?!" The man's voice was loud, sudden and filled with indignation.
"L-Logan," I managed to whisper and he groaned in a low voice eliciting my heart to race faster. His hand which was on my bare back moved. He started to draw letters with his index finger, while simultaneously nipping and sucking at random, tender spots on my neck. The sensations of his hot lips on my neck, his soft hair tickling my jaw and his cold, slender finger moving elegantly on my naked back was beyond overwhelming and so sensual that my eyes shut on its own accord. My mind was already feeling dizzy, but I tried my best to focus on what he was writing on my back.
D-O-N-T-M-O-V-E.
My eyes fluttered open when I understood him. There was definitely something off and I recalled his earlier words- go with the flow. Logan would never just grab me and behave stupidly- there was a reason behind this. That man. We didn't have time to hide so I couldn't screw it up. Initially, I was taken aback by his close proximity, but now I understood him clearly. And if this was my chance to get a kiss, I would take it. So, I smirked at the man who was glaring at us furiously and closed my eyes again, this time giving in to whatever Logan's plans were. Giving in to what Logan wanted.
Maybe, I wanted it too. Oh yes.
Logan released my wrist gingerly and I could see a bright red mark, it was throbbing, but I didn't care. I wrapped my hands around his neck bravely and clutched his shirt in the back. A soft moan escaped my lips as he peppered burning kisses all over my jaw and throat. I wanted to feel his lips against my own-I felt the sudden urge to kiss him, but I didn't possess the confidence. My body was shaking miserably and my knees almost buckled. Logan was somehow confident at whatever magic he was doing and didn't hesitate to show me one bit.
Where did he get the courage to do this so smoothly and melt me under his touch? God, I was turning into a puddle.
His fingers dangerously played with the clasp of my bra and at that moment, my eyes flew open. I trusted him, but I had some boundaries too especially doing this in my grandpa's shop. I looked around the shop and the man seemed to be gone.
"H-He's g-gone!" My voice was shrill with excitement and Logan slowly detached himself from me. He warily looked around and through the glass-sheathed walls for confirmation-the man was indeed gone. Our breathing was ragged and his chest heaved up and down. Logan squeezed his eyes shut for a while as if letting the information sink in. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration and panic while I observed him quietly. In the meantime, I fixed my t-shirt and checked if the clasp of my bra wasn't opened and it wasn't.
Once he didn't feel as disoriented as before, he opened his eyes. First I saw clear anger, fear and uncertainty in his eyes before he shifted his gaze at me. Both of our cheeks flamed a glowing red as our eyes locked into each other intensely, the repercussions of our actions biting us. His gaze lowered to my neck which had red spots- probably hickeys all over. A thrilling feeling ran through me when he bit his sultry lip which looked a little swollen. I couldn't see regret in his sea-coloured eyes, but the various hues of blue and green rendering into a pool of desire. A desire for me.
I felt giddy and breathless like the way I felt when I rode on my bicycle around the town or stood in front of the ocean- like the way I felt when I was in love with nature.
