PROLOGUE
The two doors opened with a mechanical screech.
A woman in a black-leathered coat and a fashionable hat harshly walked down the hallway. With each step, an ominous clicking noise chimed from the echoing walls, coming from her blood-red high-heels.
At the next door, two bulky men without any expression, in black suits and each a gun around their shoulders, waited for the woman to stand right in front of them. Recognizing her, they stepped aside as the tall metal door slowly opened.
Inside was a huge lab filled with computers and machines. There were scientists and doctors, chemists and physics professors. They all tensed up as the woman passed.
Unimpressed, as she walked past bubbling liquids and blinking lights, she took out a small silver key. So fragile and insignificant, that one wouldn't think of the horror it could cause.
Without looking up, the woman determinedly went to the center of the lab, where a giant glass cell rested.
Many pipes and cables winded around the seemingly glowing cube. It was lighted with strong LED lamps and the white light violently blinded everyone, who dared a glint. The glass walls were covered in small snowflakes. Icy crystals spiked from the edges like they were warning whoever came too close.
The cold could be felt by just standing next to the glassy cell. The inside was strengthened by metal poles. White steam, like fog over a dark city, made whatever was inside there invisible.
Stopping at a control board in front of the glass cell, the woman carefully unlocked a small cabinet with the key. She took out a black satin box and slowly removed the cover. As if she had clicked a button, the people in the room now started hurry to different stations and computers, getting ready for what would happen next.
Inside the box, there was a black blindfold with a white hourglass marking, neatly folded, resting on a piece of shiny silvery tissue, waiting to be used.
Waiting to cause terror.
With a flick of the woman's hand, one of the technical scientists pressed a sinister red button on his computer. With a loud hiss, the glass cube lifted up and the steam flowed out like a wave of darkness and instantly disintegrated. The lights lowered and solwy but surely there was a silhouette getting visible.
Other people started to pull levers and hurriedly write down data and notes. The fear and stress level increased even more, the moment a person formed out of the shadows of the silhouette. It was a girl, round about the age of fourteen.
Her hands were cuffed to the metal poles, making her feet barely touch the ground. She was unconscious, her head seemingly calmly resting on her chest. Strands of blond, silky hair fell over her shoulders like a waterfall of pure gold. On her pale skin were the small ice crystals already melting. She wore nothing but a black, simple dress. If somebody who wan't supposed to be here would've seen her, they would've thought she was dead.
Oh, no. The girl was everything but dead. Sneaking through history, causing fear and horror all over the world, her older soul being kept alive in the body of a fourteen-year-old through the process of cryostasis.
Oh, how much the people hoped she would've been dead.
Finally, the women looked up. She seemed rather old, her white hair being held up in a tight bun around her aged face. But her aura was intimidating and powerful. Like she had lived a thousand lives. Like she was a wise and immortal godess.
Well, if she was a godess, she surely was that kind that when people stopped beliving in her, she would make the earth burn.
With elegant steps, the woman walked up to the girl, her heels making the only sound since everybody else held their breath. The people were scared. Scared of a young girl.
After the woman carefully wrapped the blindfold around the girls' eyes, she took a few steps back, examining her work.
The white hourglass symbol suddenly blinked rapidly, signalizing that its' technical additions were now functional. Everybody looked at the woman, who was glancing over to another scientist. He nodded firmly and put his hand on a lever, waiting for her signal. The woman took a deep breath.
"Number eight"
These two short words caused the hourglass to light up and a white lightning streak shot through the girls' body, making a sound like a machine powering up. The scientist pulled the lever and her handcuffs opened.
And the girl fell to the ground.
But her limp body didn't crash and crumble. The second her feet touched the ground, the impact sent a white shockwave erupting through the room, making the people stumble. Glass tinkered and a few chemical mixtures fell over. But nobody moved. They wouldn't dare.
She was awake. Her stiff body moved like a robot. Like a machine. Every move radiated pure power. Lifting her head, there was nothing but a cold, blank face. Her pale lips were pressed together as if she hadn't talked in years. Slowly, she turned her head until she was looking straight to the woman's direction, who couldn't hide her proud expression.
The girl being able to see them, with her eyes blindfolded, made the doctors shiver. Every time she would wake up... every time the black blindfold would wrap around her icy -blue eyes, carnage would follow slowly after. It was like a curse.
Unbreakable, inevitable
Finally, the elder woman spoke with a raspy, confident tone. "I have a little job for you" The sound of her voice made the girl lift her eyebrows a bit. She was listening.
The Handler's red lips curled into a sinster smile.
A/N: This would be like one of my "first writing" chapters. Don't worry, I did not mix up my stories. I just don't know what else to upload today, so I chose to show you some of my older story ideas. As you have probably already guessed, it would be an Umbrella academy ff with one of my OCs. You can tell me what you think and maybe even if you would be interested in reading a story like this.
Anyway, I hope you have a great day/ night, I love you! <3
