When darkness like night drowned me, I thought, 'What has become of me?'

Instinctively, Eiji covered his head and ducked. All around him, gunfire brought his usually quite house roaring to life with the sounds of shattering windows and heavy thunks.

After a minute or so, it went quite.

Eiji, still shaking, raised his head to peer just above the bed. Ash was gone, but a splatter of blood marked the place where he had been. "What have I been caught up in.." He spoke to no one in particular.

"Search the house, find that brat!"

Realising that his attackers and potential murders were still present, Eiji made a cautious dash for the door to the living room. He needed to find a phone and call the police. Unfortunately, living out in the middle of nowhere meant that there were no neighbours to call them for him. Also unfortunate, was the fact that Eiji had sat on his mobile phone in the chaos, and utterly crushed it.

The good thing was, Eiji had found his home phone without being shot to dead- the bad thing however, was that someone had cut the line. "Damn," he sighed. Eiji wasn't an idiot, he knew that if he tried to escape the house on his own, his chances of surviving were worse than slim. "I'm not dying here," he began to desperation rack his brain for another option.

That was when he noticed the crumpled and bleeding body of Ash Lynx on his living room floor. "Oh my-"

You'd think Eiji wouldn't have rushed to the side of a man who had pressed a gun so hard against his forehead- it was starting to bruise. But he did. And he did so with a deep worry spread thick like butter across his face. "Ash, are you okay?!"

"Shut up!" Ash hissed, "They'll hear you, and don't talk to me like I'm some- ack, buddy of yours.."  it was clear to Eiji that Ash was loosing a lot of blood, and fast. "They got you in the leg.." Eiji outright ignored Ash and began to tear off a piece of his clothing so that he could stop the bleeding however best he could. Ash was silent while Eiji treated his wounds.

"They'll find us soon," Ash croaked, noticing the slams of locked doors being kicked open and the sounds of crashing glass as the intruders broke their way inside.

Eiji didn't hesitate in scooping Ash up in the same way a knight would to a princess in destress. Ash, not all too happy, kicked out with his good leg, "Put me dow-"

"This way!" His demands were cut off by the orders of the searching men.

Eiji didn't comment on Ash's kick, instead choosing to run down the hall into the bathroom. He locked the door behind him. "I'm trying to help you," He spoke sternly as he put Ash down, "It's my fault you came here right? If I let you die, I couldn't forgive myself."

"I tried to kill you," Ash pointed out blatantly, "And you're probably going to die soon, because of me."

Eiji made an awkward face of sorts, "Hah... I suppose that's.. true. But regardless, I've never done anything meaningful and I-"

"Save the speech for another time," Ash kept his focus on the door, his gun still clenched in his hand, "If anything I owe you. I'm the one who got some random dragged into my mess."

He sighed, "We just have to hold out for a little longer.."

"Do you have a plan?" Eiji asked, feeling slightly hopeful.

"Not really," Ash's intense frown grew back into a smirk, "but I do have backup."

The sounds of more cars and vehicles screeching to a halt only made Ash's smirk grow.

"And they're going to kick some fucking ass."

I wonder who Ash' backup is?

The new episode that was released today was great~
Quite honestly, I'm finding it hard to give Eiji some character. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy but he's rather... basic? I don't know, I just don't want to deviate too much from how he's portrayed in the anime.
Also, thanks for the votes~
Please comment any suggestions and what not.
