The next day, Gionna was struggling to decide what to wear for when she met up with Josh for lunch.

Gionna: Hmm... A cheeky looking dress? Or just jeans and a shirt?

Once she eventually decided on just jeans and a shirt and got properly dressed, she got a message from Josh.

Josh: Hey, I'm on my way to your hotel now! What room you at?

Gionna: 152, bestie!

She was incredibly tempted to say 'babe', but realised she couldn't because of Ashley. So she asked him something.

Gionna: Just out of curiousity, is Ashley coming with you?

Josh: Nope, she's doing a radio interview to promote Wrestlemania, so it's just me. Why do you ask?

There were so many possible answers Gionna could have put, but in the end she just decided to play it safe.

Gionna: Just curious, cos I kinda wanted some alone time with my bestie before tonight.

Josh: Ahh, I see! By the way, you might wanna open your door...

She looked a little confused, but went to the door and opened it to find Josh waiting there for her.

Josh: Did you order room service, madam?

Gionna: If that room service is your company for today, then yes I did!

He smiled as she got her case packed and took it with her, leaving nothing behind. She locked the door and left the key at reception, before putting it in the boot of Josh's Ferrari. She then got in, and blushed a little bit, as she could see that Josh had that look in his eye, a look she hadn't seen since the two were dating.

Josh: Starbucks, here we come!

Gionna: Actually, I was thinking that if you want a proper lunch, there's a good steakhouse near here, if you wanna give that a go!

Josh: Sounds good to me!

With Gionna giving the directions, they soon arrived at the steakhouse, with the place virtually empty.

Gionna: It's not as popular during the day, trust me.

Josh: Hey, it doesn't bother me! Now let's eat!

They soon got a booth, and after getting their drinks, Gionna then struck up what the plan was for her match tonight.

Gionna: So, for tonight's match, I've been told that I'm winning it, and they're leaving me to decide how it ends. I was wondering what you thought...

Josh: The one thing I do notice is she does have a bit of a temper when she loses control in a match. Use that to your advantage and maybe even... I dunno, use her finishing submission or something!

Gionna: You really think I can do it?

Josh: Well, do you know how to do the Figure 4?

Gionna had a hint of concern in her eyes.

Gionna: I... I think so...

Josh: Tell you what. I'm heading to the gym after this, I'll teach you it.

Gionna: You'd do that?

Josh: Yep. If you wanna win this rivalry, the number 1 rule is try to get in your opponent's head. And what better way to do so than by using her own move against her? Plus, Ashley taught me it.

Gionna's face went red. She was being told how to beat Josh's girlfriend... By her boyfriend! As their orders were taken and they waited, there was something on Josh's mind.

Josh: Look, Gio. I'm happy we've reconnected, especially after what happened between us all those years ago. But now we're besties again, I have to know... Are you seeing anyone?

She went wide eyed at his question, just as she took her first bite of food.

Gionna: Well... Not right now, no. Why do you ask?

Josh: It's just, I'd rather see you the way you are now, not with some guy who's with you for your looks or anything like that.

Her mind had pretty much exploded in that moment. She couldn't believe her ex was talking to her about relationships.

Gionna: Are you okay, Josh?

Josh: Yeah, I... I'm fine... Never been better...

They carried on, trying to get some conversation going, but it wasn't working. Gio knew she had to do something.

Gionna: Josh, you have to know that this version of you is the happiest version of you I've seen. Even more than when we were together... And while that kills me inside, I'm happy you've got someone. Maybe someday, I'll find that lucky guy too.

Josh couldn't help but smile wider and wider. Deep down, he did still have one or two mixed feelings for Gionna, that were slowly beginning to re-emerge. And before long, they had finished their steaks, as well as dessert.

Josh: Wow, that went quickly!

Gionna: Sure did! So now what?

Josh: Now we head to the performance center. You're gonna learn the Figure 4 and 8.

After paying for both meals and leaving a tip, he then drove them both to the Performance Center, where they both got changed into workout attire. And with a little help from his friend, The Miz, who also happened to be there, Gionna had got the Figure 4 sussed.

Gionna: So that's the Figure 4... But what about the 8?

Miz: Easy. When you're on the ground, lift your arms so your hands are planted on the floor behind you and lift yourself up.

She locked it in on Josh, and then put one arm behind her, then another, and slowly lifted herself up. Josh clenched his face a little at the pain he was in, but was happy to help. After locking it in for 30 seconds, Josh tapped out, embrassingly. But luckily, only Gio and Miz were there to witness it.

Gionna: Phew, that was fun! Okay, now I think I'm ready for her!

Miz: I'll be rooting for you!

Josh: As will I! But then again, there's no doubting that, even if it is my girlfriend you're facing.

The Miz then headed home, while Josh and Gio headed to the arena to get themselves ready for tonight. And when they got there, Gionna had realised something.

Gionna: So, I know what I'm doing tonight, what about you? What can I expect from you tonight?

Josh: I'm in a match against Ricochet, seeing as me and him have never been one-on-one in any wrestling company. I'm looking forward to it.

Gionna: He's one heck of an athlete, I can't get over how he does that 630 he does...

Josh: Me neither. But I've been studying him, and I reckon I can get the job done. Also, there's Elimination Chamber qualifying matches tonight - Samoa Joe is facing Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles is going against Apollo Crews. But the one I've got my eye on is Aleister Black against Randy Orton. I've always been amazed by Aleister's moveset, it's awesome to watch!

Gionna: Not to mention, it's a match I've been waiting to see. 2 unpredictable wrestlers going at it.

Josh: Anyway, I'm up first, so I'll see you after!

Gionna: Break a leg!

He smiled and waved as he left, with Gionna letting out a sigh as she watched him walk to gorilla.

Gionna: What a true friend he is... I just wish he was more than that...

???: Yeah, keep dreaming.

She turned around to see Ashley come from nowhere behind her.

Ashley: You and Josh may have had something special in the past, but let me make something crystal clear. He's MINE now. And as far as tonight goes, good luck. After last night, when you got lucky by eliminating me from the Royal Rumble match... Well, I just got off the phone with Hunter, and he agreed to my request of our match... now being a No DQ match. See you out there.

As Ashley left with a smirk on her face, Gionna's now face of fury slowly began to fade, turning into a wry smile.

Gionna: Well, they say expect the unexpected... That was a real surprise. But not one I didn't prepare for...

She then went to catering where she met up with Ruby and Sarah, and they chatted away whilst they also watched Josh's match against Ricochet. The two shook hands before locking up, and after a brief spell, Ricochet even went for an early Recoil attempt, to which Josh kicked out at one. As the match progressed towards the end, the two had laid it all out there in the ring. The One And Only connected with a Recoil, and then climed up to the top to go for the 630. With Josh not moving, he connected, flush in the chest and ribs, but somehow Josh threw a shoulder up on instinct. The crowd and Ricochet could not believe their eyes, as he didn't waste any time and tried another 630 attempt, but this time, Josh rolled out of the way before the impact, causing Ricochet to writhe around in pain and Josh then took advantage by hitting 2 of his 25th Hours, to which he would get the win from.

Mike: Here is your winner, Josh Stevens!

As he got up and headed to the back, Ricochet gave him a sign of respect by giving him a salute and a 2-Sweet gesture, to which Josh responded to by doing the exact same thing. He saw Ashley in her gear for tonight, and she applauded her boyfriend as she kissed him.

Ashley: That was amazing, babe! You two really tore it down out there! Now you get to watch me tear Gionna apart.

Josh: In what way?

Ashley: You didn't know? My match with her is now a No DQ match, so I'll be ending her Mania dreams tonight.

Josh: I see... Well, just promise me you won't go too hard on her, I mean, she's only just come back from a lengthy absence and all.

Ashley: So? A No DQ match is exactly what it says it is... anything goes. So I'm not making a promise I can't keep. Especially for your so called 'best friend'. I'll see you after, babe.

She blew him a kiss and headed to the ring, with her music playing. And as she did that, Josh saw Gionna at the gorilla.

Gionna: So, Ashley told you about this being No DQ, didn't she?

Josh: Yeah, and I'm not exactly happy about it. I mean, she gets dangerous in these kind of situations.

Gionna: Well, I have a plan for how I intend to win tonight...

She whispered a few words into his ear, while Josh's eyes lit up and he began to grow a wry smile on his face, the exact same one Gionna had on her face.

Josh: Well, with that plan, I see why you wanted this to go down. Be careful out there. But know I have every faith in you.

As Josh gave her some words of wisdom, she smiled as she headed out with a confident look on her face. Ashley was mocking her from inside the ring by doing some fake crying and yawning at how she thought this wuld be a walkover. But it was far from it. Gio got a chair from the outside, and although Ashley dodged the first shot, she didn't dodge the second one. After 5 or 6 relentless chair strikes, she then got a kendo stick and whacked it across the lower back of Ashley, saying one word for every strike.

Gionna: DON'T... YOU... EVER... MENTION... MY... BEST... FRIEND... LIKE... THAT... AGAIN!!!

Ashley's only offense throughout the match was a couple of shots with a chair and a spear. Besides that, Gionna completely dominated the whole match, and now it was coming to an end. Gionna got a chair and wrapped it around the leg of Ashley. She stamped on it 3 times, leaving Ashley rolling around in pain.

Gionna: Who's dangerous now, bitch?!

She then pushed the chair further up Ashley's leg and took a leaf out of the Queen's book by locking in the Figure 4, then managing to bridge up into the Figure 8. By now, Ashley was screaming in pain, and although she held on as best she could, she eventually had to tap out.

Mike: Here is your winner, by submission, Liv Morgan!

The look on Gionna's face was one of pure smugness. She had sent a strong statement of intent to the rest of the Raw Women's Division, that this version of Liv Morgan was one to be taken seriously. As she went backstage, clutching at her ribs a little thanks to Ashley's spear, she met up with Josh, who was over the moon at what he had seen.

Josh: You were amazing! Loved that innovative offense, and that submission with a chair, that had to hurt her...

Just then, he stopped as he saw Ashley being helped to the trainer's room by a couple of medical personnel. She looked back and saw Josh hugging Gionna, and she had a look of pure fury on her face. Gionna saw this, and went wide eyed.

Gionna: Wow. Weird death stare much?

Josh: Yeah, she gets a little insecure at times. I did tell her me and you are just best friends though.

Gionna: Yeah, she warned me about that earlier as well.

Josh: I guess I'd better go talk to her. I'll catch you later.

They shared a hug before going their separate ways. Josh headed to the treatment room, where he saw Ashley laying on the table, with an ice pack on her left knee.

Ashley: Oh, so now you come and see me? How gentlemanly of you...

Josh: I was just congratulating her. I didn't expect her to do what she did.

Ashley: I'll admit, it surprised me. If this little brat is gonna continue to be like this, then she's going to be a thorn in my side. Not just in the ring, but for OUR life too.

Josh: Ash, babe, I've told you this countless times recently, but me and Gio are just best friends. Nothing more.

Ashley: Sure didn't seem that way... Which is why I'm gonna give you a warning. Stay away from her, or we're done.

Josh: Seriously? After all we've done for each other?

Ashley: Yep. This is serious, and I need to know who's side you're on. Your EX girlfriend, or your CURRENT girlfriend. So, I'll give you until Wrestlemania to decide.

Josh: Decide what?

Ashley: It's either ME or HER.
